Shinobi III is one of my favorite Genesis games. Definitely going to pick this one up and hope a physical edition gets released!

I will upset you. Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider is inferior to Shinobi III in every way. Especially the music and animations. And this is the strangest thing. Shinobi III came out 30 years ago and looks better than the 2023 game... Sad. I am also a huge fan of Shinobi III and was waiting for this release, but after playing the game for an hour, I realized... Shinobi III is better in everything and it's not about nostalgia. I do not understand why the game was given 9 points...

Besides shinobi 3 it also resembles Hagane on snes as well 👍
The gameplay reminds me a lot of Natsume's Shadow of The Ninja, also. Looking forward to playing it, as all games by JoyMasher have been great so far.

I don't remember ever hearing about this one. The ninja game that has been on my wishlist for ages now is Bushiden.

@@karlwest49 Yes, if you play blazing chrome on easy, you can complete it in 20 minutes...
It's about the same length as Mega Man X. Depending on skill level of course, and there's plenty of replay incentive.
this is not inspired in shinobi, this is inspired in Hagane SNES and it is very easy to see, the art style is inspired in the art of Keita Amemiya which is the artist of Hagane, that is why everything has faces. Hagane is an incredible game and this one looks amazing.
Bushiden looks to be more inspired by Hagane than this.

@@skeletankmcgraw7343 lol you can't be serious, bushinden has nothing that looks like keita amemiya. ibushinden looks good but nothing that resembles hagane.
i played hagane and rudra no hihou(which is also his) watched series designed by him, i can clearly tell the influence of keita in this game. and that is a good thing for me.

I'm glad you recognized this game's aesthetic likeness to Shinobi. Everyone keeps saying Ninja Gaiden... Which is fine, but this game SCREAMS Shinobi 3.
it is neither of the two, this is inspired in hagane which is very easy to see if you played the game.

It’s more of a Hagane clone than a Shinobi one. I played it a bit and it’s ok but way too easy. It gives you a health pick up every 5 seconds

6.5/10 Quite boring game. This game could have been an alright game in the early 90's and even then there was better but today it fails to keep me hooked even after 4 attempts. Meh game. You want old school style with good atmosphere, try beholgar way better.
Another game thats fun to watch but not fun to play. Inept clunky and laggy controlls, bad checkpoints and the limited lives system provide artificial difficulty, time wasting repetition and frustration. Its not a hard game, its an inept one. Not a good call to copy both the positives and negatives of retro gaming when creating a modern one. Just finished it and i didn't enjoy it at all. Plus it's 15 euros for less than 2 hrs game...rly?
