3:50 No, before the update, hypepropellant used to work incorrectly with both fire and homebrew mods. If you took both fire and homebrew, the homebrew did nothing, but if you took just homebrew you would basically get a 100-140% bonus in damage, it was pretty busted I must say. Oh and also fire didnt halve the damage as it was supposed to. I'll miss busted hyperprop but its for the better that its fixed
I'd argue it's more busted now as before you had to actually aim and the fire dot wasn't as impactful anyway. Now you can destroy pretorians from any side which makes it more stupid than it already was.
I think the thing with fragile is it did damage equal to the exact HP of the enemy, but because they have damage resistance they'd have like anywhere between a sliver to a decent bit of health left to my knowledge, I think it would be easier on them to just make it do 100 damage since it only works below that anyway, idk if that's what they did though to fix it

i use fragile all the time on cryo cannon and theres more times than i can count where grunts have been left on a sliver of health while being frozen
tbf, this worked greatly to my advantage as a vampiric driller. 😂

If armour now scales with hazard it probably also scales with player number like the rest of the game, so that might be why there wasn't too much change when you were testing the praetorian's armour
also does that mean that fatboy now also removed ALL armour
Should be, im more interested if armor break can laverage DMG across aoe fall of on area DMG, this can be awesome if IT is true especially cause i overall loved armor break on thunderhead or other aoe weapones
I believe armor break on splash damage is still fairly weak, outside stuff like Breach Cutter. By default it already ignores armor, and probaonly removing like 25~50% armor in the blast.
Armour break for AOE damage has not been changed.
Armour break still doesnt work with explosions, devs confirmed this fix is only for the projectiles

Pass through damage (puncturing armor and carrying through to hit the soft stuff) affecting projectiles is huge, especially for hyperprop.
I don't think AOE should damage armor, as AOE should only affect large groups of unarmored targets, as it does, not armored targets.
When you hit a tank with an explosive, it only hurts the armor where it hits directly. It doesn't blow all the armor off from all sides, as you're hoping for. It doesn't hurt the tanks next to it. That's the whole purpose of armor, to protect against explosions and shell fragments.
@@bluedistortions yea, about the hyperprop... it turns out it still doesnt work on shellbacks and twins, cause of how their armours are placed. From what I understand, u basically go thru one armour plate, but part of other plate is under it, and hyperprops shot just stops on it

Hyper propellant with incendiary could be a viable option on rival missions. Setting patrol bots on fire kills them instantly I think.

All the hype around new armor breaking and Hyper Prop working has left me going game to game spreading the word about fragile being a literal death ray now lol. These maintenance updates are great

Yea two 25% are still 1/4 that happen 2 times and at first glance looks good but in practice it is still very tight window. 50% even thou one time gives mathematicly huge window of oppurtunity.
That was the point, it is now a 50% chance instead of being 2 25% chances

OP is correct. Two 25% chances per instance ends up with a 43.7% chance to proc. Individual chances can't be added, they have to be multiplied.

I love that even thou we might not get anything cool and new in S5 the fact that make those updates, updates like this or the one earlier(for example that light coilgun rework) is awesome and i love and i love it love it a lot and i love i love and i love it i love it
I love these kind of updates too, it really shows how dedicated they are to improving the game and the gameplay experience. Also, the transparency in their patch notes should be the norm in the industry, but it ain't so it's hella appreciated.
By god, if Season 5 doesn't add new content, it will really be a shot in the foot
Yes, I love the way they were hyping up a fucking maintenance update, which was all just bug fixes. I'm not saying it's a bad update. It's just that everyone is treating it like a godsend, a divine gift we all needed, but didn't deserve. It's a fucking patch that was supposed to come and go, not another excuse to suck off gsg dry for the 400th time.
Typically, cold radiance pairs well with icestorm, since it makes up for lost freezing power (and gives really strong freeze in general), and freezes enemies quicker so you get the 2x multiplier faster. Fragile has a chance to proc when the target is below 100 base (base means no resistance scaling from hazards, just base value) hp, the chance is 100-current hp. So you have a 1% chance to proc when the target is at 99 hp, and 50% chance at 50 hp, iirc.

I think ice storm with cold radiance is still a stronger pick because of the freezing power gets it to do double damage sooner.
Cold AOE is hard to beat, but Fragile is at least a viable funny pick now for unga bunga charging through grunts.
2:43 yes… I can use the railgun to max (or somewhat maximum-ish) efficiency or whatever word I was originally thinking of.
Ice storm: redices the freeze power which is the reason you take cold radiance.
taking fragile means no cold radiance.
How effective can it really be considering how much juice you need to spend now to freeze them?
1:23 since launch armor breaking has never worked as intended ever… and all armor strength for example the praetorians they all had their armors set to what haz 2 would’ve been.

"Fragile" is basically just adds a huge, random damage spike that has a chance to occur with each ice particle that hits a frozen enemy. As a result, it pairs well with upgrades/overclocks that increase the weapon's fire rate since this also makes you more likely to proc fragile faster.
I’m not sure, I edited a lot out during the Fragile test, and I was using a full freeze build with tuned cooler and it still seemed to only proc the Fragile when the bug was at or under half health?
@@FangDRSH Correct, Fragile only activates once the bug is below 100 hp, then the formula for % is "100 - HP".
At 99 hp. 100-99 = 1% chance.
50hp = 50%
25hp =75%,
etc.
Basically it shreds through grunts, but is still a little mediocre against high HP targets.
I miss the old updates :( but DRG is such an amazing game I cant complain

I believe the original EM Discharge bug was that it was stuck on 25% no matter what you did, which made it a giant pain to activate.

Running mini shells is offensive enough, but building it without both demage mods is a crime. You cant oneshot a grunt without them.
these armor break updates plus the nerfs to stingtails means that hyperpropelant should theoretically be able to one-shot them

Oh no, the bug that stopped incendiary compound from taking half of hyper propellant’s damage is the same as the armor breaking mod bug. That they fixed this update! Incendiary is no longer optimal on hyper propellant!
So what mods should I run with hyper propellant now
probably ammo, AB, and Spiky for maximum LST damage. Stun is probably more useful for T4, but it is vaguely possible to do a little bit of splash if you push it with T4B and T5A. Practical, probably not, outside of the niche of being able to instakill 3 grunts stacked on top of each other.
Ab is still only a good pick with hyper prop. They did not change aoe armor break at all, they only fixed projectile DIRECT DMG ab. If you look closely in the video, both fire pgl and normal aoe pgl broke the grunt armor about the same.
Not to mention that even if ab aoe wasn’t still awful, fire pgl still has the massive advantage of having no dmg fall off, compared to normal pgl having some of the worst dmg fall off in the game
TBF, in the past Fire was an autopick for pretty much everything except Fatboy because you lost 90% of your damage trying to direct damage armor. Now, it's at least _an_ option for Hyper, though unfortunately, we lost the fire Hyperprop option.
It seems the devs are balancing around the idea of AB for better direct damage, and other mods for AOE. For ex, AB for Big Bertha, AOE for Carpet Bomber.

I won't agree that DRAK doesn't do the job with armor breaking. Plasma gun was good enough for smaller bugs so it's irrelevant, but now it strips praetorian pretty well with armor breaking mod for DRAK. Anti-armor action, as I see is great for OCs that go for big direct damage (OPA and SSB), it's nice option for them.
You know whats funny? Ive been running armor break minigun since i started, and only a few days ago I started trying minigun stun, and fell in love with it.
With this update, it's like I dated the unpopular ugly duckling right until she got hot.

You're gonna wanna look for Plastcrete Catalyst. Firing on an engineers platform for i think its 3s with this overclock causes the platform to explode violently

@@averagerocenjoyer3152there is an overclock named "Volatile impact reactor" which makes laser leave a trail of lava on surface it touches. Pretty sure it's the one you are looking for.
ah, the one for drawing on the ground is Volatile Impact Reactor, wherever the beam touches it turns into discount Stucky Flame. Is this what you were thinking of? The beam exploding has nothing to do with Biomass, I don't believe it can ever do that.

Looking at bug chances, I wonder if flamethrower have bug chances on fear and explosions on death 🤔
The fear should work fine but for the death explosion I can imagine since they have to die by direct damage the fire DoT ticks could be disruptive to that sometimes

Fear is weird on that but i think Bugs need to get to full heat to have the chance to acquire, from what i expierence but other than that its looks like it works

Also fire dot is diffrent source of DMG and its looks like death explosion dont work both on sticky flame and dot fire which is sad but have sense at least for sticky flame wish they would fix it on dot though( but i'm not sure if its true i didnt notice if its interrupts when activly flaming but for sure if left for dot to take care it didnt looks like it)

heat is generally better for AOE builds, because indeed the falloff at max radius is pretty terrible, but Heat stays the same everywhere. Basically, you can reliably ignite a big crowd, that spreads heat to one another, and eventually all burn to death. AB is better for single target direct damage (aka hyperprop), to make sure the one shot you have deletes the bug you pointed at from any angle.
10:17 the grunts were shattering at half the guards were shattering at 1/4

Its a mod! Called “ Cosmetic Restriction Remover” and it doesn’t just allow you to change the color of the Plague mask :)

I am glad that armor breaking keeps getting buffed. People act like it sucks, but with the changes to the armor scaling they really matter.
They always matter but good builds have ways to deal with armor even if u cant go for that sweet pretorian ass, but deffinetly is awesome. Just wait till aoe will work with armor break and it can actually matter for deepcore 40 or other aoe weapones that in my opinion benefits mostly on armor break.

yeah hyper prop sometimes just didn't do any damage at all.

the fire upgrade now cuts direct damage in half, so it's worthless on IS
praetorians were always easy to hit and are the least relevant armored target
the issues against shellbacks and twin dreadnoughts persist because of their offset armor, which still blocks hyperprop shots
but without good ignition you lose important breakpoints vs Spitballers, Praetorians, Menaces and Oppressors

They had to make fatboy somewhat good XD but agreed with you it kinda sucks especially cause hyperpropellant feels so good with that fire and was one of two overclocks that made that mod worth taking 🥺
weird dmg conversion cause a bug to begin with, and heat mod now works as intended which cuts the dmg by half on hyperprop. At least now I can brainlessly aim twins or shellbacks without worrying my shot won't do ANY dmg at all.
@@lexycore1570 I know but its nice to complain sometimes, game gets better and even thou some things are now worse overall everythink other gets better in his way, like light coil gun buff that in my opinion made this gun way better than it was and made ultra magnetic coil oc actually good option even thought it had no changes. They doing great work not like others companies that vomit update and changes everythink(for example payday 2 YUCK)

@@zunlise2341either you're testing it wrong or there is a problem related to client side netcode but now you can one shot shellback through armor with armor break hyperprop in haz 5 single/duo player scaling, while against twins it deals dmg but just slightly reduce cuz their armor hp is really high. It's punching through their armor properly.

Tip for the plasma rifle use battery link oc it does stupid damage as long as it doesn't overheat and you dont get hit

DRAK with Thermal Exhaust Feedback is my most favourite weapon in the game. The amount of damage it deals when heated up is ridiculous

Nah. Still easier to just aim for weakpoints than break armor. As long as there is no bonus damage for breaking armor, not going to bother.
They didnt meant to make them better than what was before but give it the value they had but wasnt working, also some weapones in my opinion idk it is true but for example thunderhead or deepcore 40 was really good for armor break overall and kinda sometimes free. But i completly agree with you, just shoot the glowing thing, what could be hard xd
