  • Short little overview of how I fixed the digital readout / LCD screen on my speedo in the Daf T244. Only cost around £20 for the replacement. I was keen to know how many miles were on my truck (noting the speedo may not have been original anyhow). Well, when I fixed it, it was only showing just over 20 miles, so clearly not original. Anyhow, good that is is now working. I also have a GPS unit that I may install at some stage depending on how well this holds out (these VDO speedos are known to suffer from damp ingress so it may fail again).

I am turning my ex British Army lorry into an expedition vehicle / overland truck. Before I set about getting the habitation box started, I am trying to ensure that the basic mechanicals of the truck are in good, reliable order. I am not a mechanic, just a DIY'er and so this video is just for entertainment purposes, and shows what I did, including my mistakes which you can maybe learn from. Enjoy! :)
