  • The old Lo-V subway cars were introduced in the late 1910s and early 1920s for service on the IRT Subway, which makes up the modern-day numbered lines of the NYC Subway system. This train of preserved Lo-Vs ran in passenger service for the 2024 Yankees Home Opener!
The MTA and the NY Transit Museum are world-renowned leaders in utilizing preserved examples of vintage railcar fleets for positive public relations campaigns, film/TV shoots, and other events. Commonly seen as an example of global best practice, the MTA's world-class museum train program is admired and emulated by other transit agencies worldwide.

It's wonderful the NYC subway system preserves and operates old equipment for everyone to enjoy. It's an historic operation. It's legacy should be preserved.

Kudos to the TA for keeping some of these old trains around and in running condition.

While three lines take you there, only the 4 gives you the stadium view which is why you always find the vintage cars there when the season opens.

The Chichibu Line. Also, Oigawa Railway has some old equipment. But in central Tokyo most everything is pretty new. JR East was running the JNR era 185 series until a few years ago, those were cool.
