So I just got a resin 3d printer and I’m trying to find a good slicer could you suggest any
Are you on telegram? Bc I got a message from you saying you were sending me something so i zelle transfered it & “you” said that zelle is closed & to send again. I tried messaging you on fb I think someone is scamming under your name.
@@Darkwingdad those are scams, tons of those going around on multiple sites
Yes yes agree on all points!! Why there isn't a *load* routine is beyond me...

@@wongy81 I just did a review on mine! haha
I've been 3D printing for years, I've worked with many printers from many different manufacturers including Creality and Prusa and FLSun, and I stand firmly by the statement that these are the best non-industrial-scale 3D printers out there. Nothing else comes close. They print more quickly and more cleanly than any other printer I've used that's not a Voron. The company is indeed fantastic at incorporating community feedback and building out customer tools for resolving failed prints.
And yet there's this outright venom and hostility from the 3D printing community toward Bambu devices. I've been called a shill, they've alleged that Bambu pays everyone who says good things about them, and they swear up and down that "there's no such thing as a turnkey / plug-and-play 3D printer." There's this odd stubbornness to detach from the cheap-and-mediocre 3D printers that require excessive adjustment and prayers at the altar to print right. It's bizarre and frustrating gatekeeping, as if they refuse to add anyone to their "trusted manufacturers" list after Creality and Prusa dominated the market.
Cheaper to pay for naysayers then it is to match the product.
My X1C with 2 AMS are amazing. Sure growing pains, but considering the variables and complications of the tasks we ask of it, it’s just better than any other printers I’ve owned. Plus the support people have given me caring personal responses. A+ in my book.
Fantastic video as always! Definitely along for the ride with this one. I have 1 X1CC and 2 P1P and there's definitely growing pains but that's what you get with a gen 1 product. given all the problems I've previously dealt with on past printers this isn't something out of the normal. I'm glad to see they're taking all the feedback as seriously as they are and I'm excited to see how it all evolves.
Agreed! I cant wait to see some improvements for the p1p.
I’ll tell you from my two weeks of experience printing. Long story short, I put in an order for X1C, and forgot about it. Wife got me a neo for Christmas. Iv spent over 24+ hours leveling the Ender. I’m 5 days of having the X1 set up, I have leveled it, zero times. One fail due to me forgetting glue, everything else has been absolutely flawless.
I continue to weigh my options, which do you prefer between the x1c and p1p? If I get the p1p I’d order the ams with it, or I’d get the x1c and ams somewhere down the line.
@@i3lvlvvs after now owing these for a while I wish I had ordered 2 P1P instead of the 1 X1CC. it really comes down that what your needs and use case will be but the P1P is a mighty machine that can do most of what the X1C can do.
@@F3ralghoul awesome! Thank you for responding! Literally just landed on the P1P as my decision haha, very literal with my credit card in hand.
Thank you so much for being so active in the community on Facebook and Discord. Really helps out the rest of us.
I try! I’m an old fart so discord has taken me a while to figureout 😂🤣
I love the review it's exactly what I was looking to know before I considered getting one I am very interested and excited to see the p1p review.
I have been enjoying my bambu X1C with the AMS, coming from a printer giving me allot of issues is amazing how good it is.
Thank you for bringing up the switching of filaments, such a basic feature, i was scratching my head trying to figure it out, i thought for sure i was missing something.
Hola Tio Jessy! Excellent video, my dear amigo!!!!! Muchas gracias for your support and for giving a chance to our models. Its a honor to have you in the community and cheers for many many more prints, my dude! Happy printing and stay Wicked!!!! Mucho mucho love for you!
I so much appreciate your vid's, and updates, on how things are going with these printers. Have been wanting to get a P1P, as there is no way I'll be getting the X1 Carbon, mainly because of the price point. I will be waiting for some time though, to make sure the bugs, you and others have found, are taken care of, before making my purchase. Thanks Again
Regarding loading the filament, you only need to hit the button to extrude once until it grips the filament. When a job starts, it extrudes enough to get it flowing from the nozzle just fine.
When loading filament for a replacement mid-print, though, I did have to purge out some filament myself as the printer didn’t do that itself.
has it been 6 months already? So glad for this follow-up!
I just got my first X1C with AMS and I'm in love. I have 5 other printers (3 work) and I think I need to look into donating those to someone starting out. This thing is just a JUGGERNAUT like you said.
Nice to hear, send to me i will be thankful🙏🏿
I've been loving my X1 since the Kickstarter finished. Thanks for your thoughts Jessy. I switched to the high temp pei sheets and have never looked back. The only real issue I have with BambuLabs' build plates is those stickers like to bubble when your prints stick a little too well. Easy to fix with a plastic scraper and a few minutes of time, but I still get angry every time I have to get rid of the bubbles.
Great review! Hairspray works for me on the cool plate, I HATE gluestick. That said, I switched to textured on both my X1C and P1P and only use the cool plate if I have some really finicky item that ABSOLUTELY needs max adherence. Never had one stick so hard I could not get it off. I also vote for a 'load' button - I hear an update is coming soon, so please Bambu add this!
Awesome overview. I SO don't need another printer but man has it been tempting to snag one of these.🙃
Fantastic video. I was actually waiting for something like this since there are just too many "look what a great printer this is" videos.
We all need input like this. Kudos to Bambu labs for their great level of support. I was going to build my own multi extruder/material printer but I am almost ready to pre-order the X1-Carbon+AMS bundle. There is just one little thing ... In the latest (Christmas gift) blog I read something about "communication with the cloud" and "print history from the cloud" and I am wondering what that cloud is being used for ? I am kind of expecting that this printer is able to be used without any cloud interaction and just send data from my local PC directly to my (local) printer without the the need to copy this through the internet. Is this "cloud" stuff only used for the mobile app or is the PC app also using the cloud when modeling/slicing/printing ?
Ahhh I have a video coming out tomorrow that was gonna "reveal" a few of these things, but good job ;) You beat me to it lol
Just dealt with the main board fan issue myself. Contacted support for another one, but a temp fix is just pull out the fan, and push the fan blades into the housing more, as I think their bearings go bad.
Thank you for the update! Just one thing... I haven't found review or update of anyone who's printed a duo-tone (or two color) print and weighed the purge strings and the purge tower, along with the printed object (including the supports), to get a ratio of waste to product. I know supports are considered waste material but we would get the same amount of support waste on other machines. Eventually we could work our way down to what type of support delivers the best benefit to cost ratio later on.
As we move forward with being a more "green" society, we in the printing community need to be aware of our waste, too. But then again, the more people we have looking into this, and as Bambu Lab as been really responsive so far with making changes and updates, we - and Bambu Lab - could be on the forefront of recognizing and mitigation waste before it has time to become a problem. And whatever gains we make here could be shared with other printer companies. Thanks again for the update.
Definitely want to get one of these some day!
If the black dust is actually coming from carbon rods, it might not be to good on the lungs.
Carbon nanotubes (not the same) result in similar lung damage as asbestos in studies.
Any hard to break down fibres with similar dimension as asbestos can cause similar damage…
Just felt the urge to mention it. ✌️
Thanks! Doing a big wipe down this evening / cleanup of all the loose bits
@@UncleJessy Use IPA or something to keep it wet while you do so, you're likely to kick up a bunch of it when cleaning.
It's probably ABS or CF-PLA dust.
do you know the difference between tubes and rods? scared me a little there
so its dangerous?
That stuff looks awesome, people that are negative to others usually are just mad that they can't figure out how to get their machine to work even with help. I love the Facebook groups they are all very supportive.
I haven’t got mine yet but I wish they had advertised more adequately how the nozzle change works… Since I’m not new to printing I made sure to order extra heaters and thermistors and took advantage of the free shipping by also ordering some nozzles. I like that I don’t have to deal with hot tightening with this machine and I thought I might be able to do a pretty fast nozzle swap by having alt nozzles pre set with a heater/thermistor but I now see that the hot end fan is attached to the nozzle assy… If I had known I would’ve ordered some extra fans and doing so now I have no idea when I’ll get them.
My modification to the cool plate is to sand it down with 80 grit and then use glue stick makes it easy to remove and sticks good still too.
For silk filament at those speeds you gotta have a hot nozzle. Maybe upping the temp 5 or 10 degrees could help
Probably one of the best machines out there
My biggest issues are with the AMS. However I love the prints coming off of this. I did not know they made it that I can send prints to the SD card now. That makes me happy.
That sd card update made me soooo happy. I had been complaining about that since the beta 😂🤣 especially for my Etsy jobs that I want to rerun randomly
@@UncleJessy Have you actually got it to work? Because for me it just keeps saying the printer needs to be on the same LAN (it is), and won't send it.
Uncle Jessy, I’ve been watching lots of your videos and reading a lot as I consider my first 3D printer. I was set on the Bambu Lab X1C and then I saw your short video on the Neptune 3 Max.
The Neptune mainly interests me because of the massive build volume. I was wondering how you feel about the quality and capabilities compared to the X1C?
I am definitely interested in this, but I think I might wait for v2 of the X1CC.
Just ordered a carbon with AMS. Thanks for the video.
Man- that Timelapse of all the It hands printing is frigg’n creepy! I love it!
Awesome video! Haven't visited your channel before, but definitely subscribed. I recently got my P1P about 3 weeks ago, and I have already put over 300 hours on it :x
Heck yeah! I’m really really hoping some usability updates come to the p1p soon. Prints are looking great. Working with the machine can be a bit wonky at times. Also… wow! That’s a lot of printing!
@@UncleJessy cosplay crunch time 👀👀👀👀
My P1P arrives this week. So excited.
Congrats! I have my complaints but the good news is it prints stupidly fast and the prints look awesome
@@UncleJessy I’m coming from an Ender 3 Pro so…you know
Ive been dealing the ripple issues since day 1. I really wanted to love my x1c so I hope they offer a replacement
Hey @Uncle Jessy, quick tip for extremely stuck prints. Drop a little bit of acetone on the build plate then pry off with metal spatula
Trying that today thanks! Those red prints I showed are not budging
I love mine. It's everything I hoped for when I imagined 3D printers years ago. Except for the waste.
Great video as always. Glad to see that you’ve had better experience with the printers after the pre-production unit.
Where can I find the articulated boo? I can’t seem to find it.
I’m 600 hours in on my x1 carbon . I absolutely love it .
I don't have a bambu yet but I hope To get one soon, and I had a question and emailed them and got a reply about 35 minutes later which is really promising and exciting!
Any update on the top layers of a rounded print? Has it been improved?
I think something to also note is i have had ALMOST NO ISSUES with silk on the x1 carbon ams. On my elegoos i'd have constant issues with perfection but these seem to print them perfect almost always which blows my mind.
Nice! For my x1 I ended up slowing down the external wall speeds which seems to help the glossy silk prints pop more
@@UncleJessy Yeah I definitely felt the need to make a separate silk preset to slow things down a bit. What speed did you settle on for some gloss?
I must have a miracle machine, I have not had any of these problems and the hair spray on the cold Plate has never had a print come loose or impossible to get off.
2:10 you mentioned the hum. That could be from the power supply since it has to pull power for running of course. If anything, a sleep mode would be nice just to give that supply a break while not fully operating. That would also kinda "shut down" everything, and like most computers and such in sleep mode, a quick tap on the screen would wake it up in a second.
For the cold plate you can get a hot plate sticker and slap that on. It is smooth pei sheet and has been fantastic. No glue or hairspray needed.
I love your videos dude! Every time I click one of your thumbnails, I get ready to push my chair back away from my screen and say "HEY EVERYONE" with you 😆
😂🤣 thanks… you should hear my boys making fun of me while I edit in the kitchen
@UncleJessy 😆😄😀🔥 seriously though you're the reason I now own a resin printer and it's been a blast. I have so much fun with it
Been printing on the cool plate and had no extra adherence issues when using 3DLAC plus. Never liked glue stick so bought some of that on a whim and it’s been incredible! £9.99 and lasted me close to 400 hrs on a single build plate sticker!
I can sing to the high heavens for 3dlac. felt I had a bit too much adhesion at times on an E3max glass bed but by god would I trust it to hold my first born while it printed
wow! thats amazing! Mine work really well... too well... and then start bubbling or ripping. Will look into that! Thanks
@@UncleJessy fully support this statement about 3dlac been using it for 4 Years on a print farm of 14 printers
Its more cheap use Strong Hair spray (thats have pvva , and can bybcleaned with just water), here in Chile, 3d lacs is very expensive (20 uss compare to 3 uss) compare to hair spray, 3d lacs dobthe job , but hair spray is the same ,but cheaper
The cool plate has worked well for me. Way superior to the glass bed on my retired Robo3D R1+. I have over 400 hours of PLA printing on the original sticker and it’s still going strong. I use Windex as the release agent, but I don’t use it before every print and I wash the plate with soap and water from time to time and then reapply the Windex.
Do you know if there is a way to get one of the P1P to Mexico ???? I'm really frustrated because I can't find a way to get it. Thanks for this amazing video.
Great video, i have seen you use many many printers, can you make a video comparing the different multicolor/multimaterial options that you habe tested?. I know of the prusa mmu, the ams from bamboo labs, and the palette from mosaic, i am guessing you have tried them all, can you make a recomendation on what option would be best to get as i am planning to get a second printer with a multicolor option, i supose the go to would be bamboo labs, but my budget for replacement parts would be tiht after getting the new printer, what of the multico,or options you have tested is the most reliable one?
Will you be making a video on the Neptune Max? Been waiting for it so I can decide between that and the plus.
I've been fantasizing about this printer and thinking it would be so hassle free and do amazing prints. I want, as makers muse said, to use it as a tool and not as a hobby. I have a vyper, it mostly works, but something that I can just feed prints to and make projects with is what i've wanted, these issues and silly hassles are going to make me hold on to my money until they fix them.
I havent heard any humming from my printer. It might just be something that is wearing out on the machine and hopefully can be easily replaced.
As for nozzle cleaner that keeps breaking for you there are actually some that you can print on Printables, some even claim to have made them better than the original, also the white part is apprently just PTFE tubing and there is also someone on Printables that made a jig so you can cut the PTFE tube the correct size.
So rather than buying more you can potentially just print them. If you do please let us know how they work out since you use these printers so much you probably will be able to test them much better than the average person 😁
I spray windex, lightly wipe off leaving a light residue thats smooth. and everything comes off very easily when it cools.
If carbon rods produce a large amount of dust or wear off, then this doesn't sound too good to me. Will they last long? Not to mention any health issues. Gotta dig into that.
What is the full list of spare parts you would recommend to pick up when ordering your first X1 ?
@Uncle Jessy Thanks for the update! It helps for owners to be aware. Have you noticed VFA issues on your prints and any advice how to address them on the X1C? People think the caused by a number of things, such as to slicer settings, smooth idler pulleys instead of toothed ones, extruder gear runout, belt tension, belts that are too short with too much tension, and belt quality (non-Gates belt). So far there doesn’t seem to be a fix - some people say print slower or faster but the issue is still apparent.
Oh wow I thought that was just my dirty machine. I have been noticing that more and more with some of my smooth prints where there is almost a slight texture to the prints
@@UncleJessy Yup, you’re not the only one. Following BambuLab’s maintenance guide helps a tiny bit but the VFA is still there. People might be ignoring the issue or it goes unnoticed on prints because some filaments hide it better. If you compare your first to most recent prints, do you see quality degrade? I hope people will be more vocal about it so the topic gains traction so either community fixes or BambuLab prioritizes a fix.
Have you given a g10 build plate a shot? I have yet to have a print that wasn't 100 released from the build plate once it cooled. for me G10 works the way people describe PEI working. Add in the fact that it holds it's shape so it can compensate for slightly warped beds. Lightspeed has some pretty hig quality ones.
I noticed that you didn't talk about the purge. Can you made a video regarding your settings in this matter?
Would you recommend the x1c for quality . I'm looking for a printer with the best quality you can get from a printer. I have the ender 3 s1 pro and it does pretty decent but I can't get rid of the ringing or z banding .
I have an X1 and I also have several Prusa machines and a Voron 2.4. The X1 is my new favorite hands down. It prints faster and nicer with much less effort than any printer I have used. So far I absolutely love it and it's been a great addition to my business. With that said, I got the X1 with the AMS and it has not worked from day one and getting issues like that solved with Bambu has been anything but seamless. I explained very clearly what was going on and they want video and a error file from the printer. Which I would normally understand but I was easily able to tell them the error code and the video does not show any better what's going on than how I can explain it since you can't see the issue but I can feel it when manually pushing the filament in and out of the unit. So jumping through run around hoops in my opinion. The AMS unit is still sitting collecting dust. I highly recommend the printer but the AMS is not ready for consumers IMHO. Look around, I'm not the only one complaining about the reliability of the AMS. But I will say it again, the printer is outstanding and I highly recommend it. Very impressive unit.
Hi Uncle Jesse can you please help me i need your help. I'm trying to print quite tall cylinder shapes on my elegoo saturn and the prints are saying 6hrs but the print is taking 22hrs?? i can't find anyhting on how to setup chitubox for faster printing and i know the Bottom lift speed and lifting speed have a big part to play but i'm to afraid to change these. can you please do a video showing in depth what we can do with these setting for chitubox V1.9.4. thank you so much
i was running out of filament on a print and i waited till the last of it was inside the tube and i then put in the new filament and pushed it in as the other kept going and my print printed fine lol. on a p1p too. Also when loading filament i push it all the way in and slightly give it an extra push once it stops so it extrudes. lol
That Juggernaut wall art is crazy!
Heck yeah man! Now wishing I printed it larger 😂🤣 gotta try and paint it up a bit
Can the printer be put in a low power low noise standby mode where you can wake it up by initiating a 3D print over WiFi?
8:48 I have a weird nostalgia for MakerBot even though I never owned one. I've been following the 3d print scene since the late 2000s and MakerBot printers always had such a strong presence in the 2009-2016 timeframe. Even to this day I catch myself asking "I wonder what MakerBot is up to these days" before I remember they are basically dead. So sad. Well at least we still have Thingiverse hanging around.
Hey Uncle Jessy, I am a bit torn with printers and need some solid feedback. I started my 3d printing journey with a Prusa mini and have been wanting to upgrade in the near future. I’ve been wondering whether I should go with the Prusa MK4 or go even higher on my budget and get the X1CC. I’ve never really printed a lot of multi color prints but the thought of having that capability sounds cool to me. So in your opinion where should I lean towards getting the X1CC or just X1C or the MK4?
I had the hum too. They are sending me a new main board fan. They said the one that will be in stock on January 30th should fix the issue.
Oh fantastic. Mine is now significantly louder since recording. I will reachout to support
With the standard bed I run the bed at 55deg for PLA and they stick well and release well…
My x1 wont print with the abs in the ams. I dried it 8 hours at 80 degrees. Put it in the ams. Then when I select the 3d print after I get to choose the filament to use. Abs is there but its not a clickable option. Do you know why?
What was the scale size you printed that magneto helmet ? 100%?
Hi ... I would LOOOOOVE to know more about the accuracy of this printer. For me accuracy is the most important thing, rather than speed. But I couldn't find ANY videos about the accuracy. I mean is like 1cm diameter in hte CAD program = 1cm printed? Or like 0.1mm = 0.1mm printed? You know what I mean? This is holding me back to buy one of theses machines right now. Thank you so much.
@Uncle Jessy would you recommend this printer? I have a flashforge 3lite that I got as a graduation gift in 2020. It works ok but the build plate is 5” and I print a lot of things and sell a lot of fish tank mods. As when I’m not working on CAD files and designs I’m arm deep in fish tanks. I’m looking for a printer than can make parts fast and my parents will pay for any new printer to help my hobby/side hustle grow. I’m almost done with a associate degree in CNC so I think that’s part of why I can get whatever printer I want. Any advice or tips will be welcomed
Have you tried printing anything in nylon on any of your printers, if so which one worked best. I am looking to purchase one in the next few weeks but I want to be able to print some products in Nylon.
Jesse, do you have any coverage on printing TPU on a X1 Carbon ?
how to turn off bambo X1 carbon, or is there idle option? :D
I love my X1C... But I hate the support quality 😧 I think it's only a matter of time before the software is nicely dialed in for better ones
So bout to pull the trigger I think on some Bambu stuff. I know in the past you have always preferred the .6 Nozzle. Do you recommend the .6 over the .4 on this printer. I know you liked it when you switched. Just curious. I am debating between the X1C and the P1S.
Did they improve the noise level in general? Maybe shut down the fan when not printing?
I'm actually in the market for a new 3D printer, and this looks very impressive. Though I'm giving a side eye to things like the strange way to load filament and the print surface looking the way it does. Reminds me of BuildTak sheets on the cold bed. Prints stick too well and you end up wrestling with getting the model off the plate.
I'm surprised they didn't use a removable glass surface
does getting a smooth surface depends on the filament or the printer?
I have adhesion problem with textured ln P1P . I don t use glue . I came from prusa where on the pei sheet everything go perfect .
when are we likely to see a new version of the x1?
Can i ask a question, my files keep saving to my SD card as .gz files, and when i try to print them my printer won't start actually printing. Is there a way to fix this?
I haven’t noticed any humming noises outside of printing on my carbon, but I do have an occasional weird electrical hum from my p1p
The cool plates are working well for me with the glue. I cannot get a print to stick to the PEI sheet i purchased for the life of me. It either spaghettis right away or the print comes off the plate about 5 to 10 minutes into printing. I always have issues for some reason with the PEI on any printer no matter how i clean it, or what temp i set. Anyone have this happen and any recommendations to stock settings? I know i can slow it down but that doesnt seem to make sense for a printer like this. This has happened even with prints with a brim, normally fails early when thats the case
About the adhesion being too good... Have you tried Windex? Works wonders for me with most PLA makes.
Hey, i think i meant to say, your volume play back seems higher that average content.
otherwise it sounds really good. very clear and very lil noise. :)
What WhamBam build Plate did you get from them?
What are thoughts on the normalization of auto-bed leveling? Something in me wants a printer with all the bells and whistles, but the manual nature of older printers feels like I can keep them forever and these newer printers have more of a shelf-life.
Auto Bed Levelling is a total game changer.
I send a print to my octoprint and press print.
I don't have to go to my shed and check on or do anything.
I just rock up 20hrs later, and the print is sitting there.
I recommend printing with Bambu filament for best results. I have found their filament to be much more reliable! Also I haven't really had any issues with the cool plate, perfect adhesion for me on all 3 of my X1 carbon printers. Great printers for sure! However, one of my printers has the buzzing fan issue though.
I have use a few of their rolls and agree the prints are near flawless. They really did calibrate the machines extremely well to those spools
You may want to reach out to support regarding the fan issue. I sent in a support ticket for my fan yesterday and they offered to send me a $20 coupon to purchase a replacement from their store.
If they're bearing type fans, can't they be upgraded to a nonbearing fan? That should resolve the humming issue and increase lifespan.
which part exactly does he mean that he has to replace that often. Any other parts i should order to stock when buying the printer?
No shade, but other than a single clog (which I believe was my fault) my X1C with Ams has been flawless. I use both the textured pei and cool plate and no issues even with larger prints.
Heck yeah that is awesome to hear. I’ve had more issues with the ams that anything but I still want to potentially get a 2nd ams unit
Any luck on finding a good release agent for the cold plate yet? I have tried two different hair sprays, one works too well (warping) and the other was like I didn't use anything (goodbye sticker #1) I have tried MagicGoo and it just flaked off, and finally just windex which didn't seem to work well either... I ordered some of the 3dminer polymer but its stuck somewhere in the mail...
Your comments on Windex are interesting. I have used it on my cool plate for PLA printing from day 1 and have gotten excellent results. I have the Bambu Lab textured PEI plate collecting dust just in case!
Definitely would love a 100% silent machine on idle
what is the name of the software you are using at 1:29
i have no noise coming from my X1C {kickstarter} or from the P1P when they cool down , I never turn mine off
Why can’t you use TPU in the AMS ?
Hey Uncle Jessy, Had a quick question for you, if you could. Myself and seen others having problems with their MC/MB fans. Have you replaced any fans? Have you considered Noctua? If so, any chance you could post procedure for changing/replacing.
Personally I’m not very technical, but have learned a lot from your videos, I mean a lot, and knowledge is power.
Appreciate all the advice and help.
I mean it, truly appreciate your help. It really helps those like myself lost in the sauce.
As a first at home 3D printer - would you suggest this X1 Carbon or the Ender 5 S1? I am planning to do some fun at home printing for useful items and possibly for sale later :)
Those are both great printers and you wouldn't go wrong with either one. I personally recommend the X1C, but you'll still get amazing prints off the S1 printers.
