@@SnailTrail4x4 just ordered! 👍🏼
very nice! I like the Warn solenoid idea.
Thanks it a must
Got the same one coming for my 2022 jeep gladiator mojave. Thanks for the tips
Great video, will have to look into adding a solenoid to my winch set up
Yeah, it's a great safety feature.
Niiiice! Thanks for the solenoid explanation, always wondered how those work.
Absolutely! They are a must on any winch install. It the best level of safety you need
great video jimmy! very detailed!
Thanks
The ground cable for the winch needs to go directly to the battery NOT the body. You are currently grounding the winch thru the little wire from the battery to the left fender.
I was thinking the same thing. Both leads need to go Directly the battery.
worst part of the internet - they teach people how to do it , but they dont know how to do it :D
Great video. Question, why the solenoid? Why not just a kill switch? Seems like an unnecessary complication to the install. Am I missing something?
most of those jumper cables are aluminium coated with copper thats why they are cheaper...
what happens if you draw more than 350amps. will the solenoid burn out?
I think the jumper cable wire is cheaper than buying battery cable, because jumper cable wire is not rated to take the abuse of being mounted on a vehicle, this includes abuse from vibration and heat on the cable. I think battery cable wire is higher quality because it uses better insulation and thinner copper strands.
Maybe so, I've never had an issue
Depends on the jumper cables for sure but like you said, in this case, battery cable is copper. Those jumper cables are CCA.
Just put this same winch on last week. but its the Zesuper brand with Syn rope. Question! Isn't that black 4th wire that comes off the bottom reason why we don't need to run the solenoid? Or maybe I should add a solenoid on mine?
The solenoid is an added level of safety. Because there is no inline fuse that would work the solenoid is the best safety for your vehicle
Off topic from the winch, what are your thoughts on that bumper? Looks pretty good!
Relentless makes awesome products! Check them out
Is the solenoid waterproof? Took a look at the amazon page but didn't find an answer. Does it need to be waterproof or is it good as is? Amazing content!
I don't know, I'm sure it's good as it, but I wouldn't use it on something that goes under water
Does the Warn Solenoid replace the need for the Overload Protector that comes with the winch?
No, the warn solenoid is mainly for the protection when you're not using the winch
Don't all winches (Warn) for example) come with solenoids?
Nope
Can you clock this winch.. My bumper takes the winch FEET FORWARD...not Downward... plz let me know...
Yes, I think you can do that with almost every winch
What happened to the Samantha build????????????
Coming in January
