I love watching you do this.
Thank you!! ♥♥
I haven't played with my cream separator yet but now I'm inspired to wash it up and have some fun!
Ahhh!! Do it!! It can be a pain to clean but it's worth it!
Oh my goodness the excitement from those bottle babies is adorable!!
This cream separator is amazing!! My friend has Nigerians and she said their milk is so creamy! Maybe I'll have to add some to our homestead! ( I need to convince the hubby 😂)
Nigerians are really an amazing little compact milk machine!! I'll never be without them!
I just love this video! So very informative, you did a great job explaining everything to us as you were doing it! I
Thank you for the opportunity to participate! This has been really fun! ♥
What an awesome video! You provided a wealth of knowledge not just about butter but the whole process of separating the cream, etc. thank you so much for showing us all how to make butter and all the hard work involved. You are amazing.
Thanks so much Dawn!!@
Great video! You explained things so well. It was fun to see your separator in action.
Thanks so much!! I absolutely love that thing!
Superb, I'd be so proud of you if you were my daughter, I am proud of my daughters( eldest a funeral director and youngest a pharmacist) if I had my time again I'd have a small holding but I'm way to old now, God bless 🤗
Awe thank you so much!! ♥♥
Love how you utilize everything from your farm. The cream separator is a game changer!
Thank you!! It really is!
I never get tired of seeing wagging goat tails 😋
Same!! ♥♥
Packed full of information. I don't even own a goat & your channel has made it so intriguing to me. If I had the structure in place I'd get 2 of them now. Nice collaboration!
Thanks so much!! I'm so glad you're here and maybe one day you can get some goats!!
I use my Mason jars for EVERYTHING 😂
Same! I need MORE!
I used to get about 6 gallons of raw cows milk when all my children were growing up. We would make butter every week with my grandma’s butter churn. I loved my homemade butter.
That's so awesome!! What wonderful memories!
WOW! What a treasure to have your Grandma's butter churn!! I have the cheese press my grandfather (a blacksmith) made my grandmother from some parts of an old horse drawn machine. I treasure that!!
Wow Merry Anne that is very special too!!
Great video as always! I highly recommend a Buttermeister just because my kitchenaide conked out already and it’s less of a mess. I’m so glad you could be apart of this wonder collaboration, Heather! I hope at least one of your viewers wins at the giveaway away on July 5th at 6pm Est.
Thank you I was JUST trying to google to find a butter churn!!! Thanks so much for hosting such a fun collab! ♥
That looks delicious!!! It's been a long time since I have made butter. When I was little my grandmother would make her butter by shaking the milk in a jar. Of course I always wanted to help but would soon get bored with the shaking.😂
Thanks for sharing and stay safe!!!
Our kids got bored with that method too!! LOL
Great details about the different milk goats & how to get the butter formed! Thanks for sharing! Blessings to all 🤗💜🇨🇦
Thanks so much!! ♥
I have made it with the shaking Mason jar method and boy what a workout 😂
Makes you really appreciate every last smear of butter! LOL
@@SageandStoneHomestead 🤣😂 right!
I don't miss the paddle butter churn.. haven't used one in 40 years or so.
Looks amazing!
Was yours little like that? My grandmother passed on a really big one and it seems like it would have to be bolted to the floor! LOL
@@SageandStoneHomestead no it was huge...lol
I absolutely love all of your milk processing videos! Whether that be of a specific item you’re making with the milk or simply just a general processing day. Thanks for another great video and will definitely be checking out the rest of the videos in this collab! Thanks Heather!
Thanks so much Taylor! We are coming into preservation season for sure and I'm in the middle of making my 5th ever cheese!!! Hopefully I'll get the guts to share that process soon!!
Love it!! I finally was able to milk all my girls today and NOT dump. They were on milk withdrawal for 19 days. So I got 3 quarts today from five does. I had only been getting a pint until I separated the doelings from their moms and started milking my only other doe not on milk withdrawal. I am anxious to make some things with the milk again.
Oh I'm SO happy you don't have to dump anymore! That's the worst!!
I have never had goat butter❤❤❤ Thank you for being in this Collab. Awesome information in your video
Thanks so much!! Goats butter is yummy!
I look forward to your videos. You’re so knowledgeable and humble.
I can only imagine how tasty goat butter is. The baby goats are sooo adorable. I have found a local homesteader who allows me to bottle feed the babies.
That sounds like the most fun job ever!!! I was thinking if I ever needed to work off the farm for whatever reason I'd want to work at another farm doing what I'm doing! ♥
I am jealous, I've got 7 kids and we use butter all the time. We'll go through 12 sticks a week, easily, and are going broke buying store-bought. I was really thinking you'd get more out of that much milk!
We definitely do when the store has alfalfa!! I'll usually get a quart and a half from 4 gallons, the extra 2 gallons should have given about 3/4 of another quart but not this time. This is one reason we started breeding mini lamanchas, to get the volume WITH the nigerian butterfat! In time!!
Thank you so much for explaining the cream separator! We don't have any dairy animals yet, but I was wondering if that was a piece of equipment we needed or was just a nice thing to have. Since we weren't planning on cows, but rather goats and sheep, a cream separator has gone on our "needed equipment" list. 😁
I'd say it's needed for sure to get the most out of the milk! ♥️
It was so cool to watch the butter making! The babies are getting big! Thank You!
Thanks so much!!
What a great video! So many amazing ideas, instructions, and encouragement! ❤❤❤
Thanks so much!! ♥♥♥
my exact words at 17:22..... KITTY!!! haha! thank you for this amazing video! all your videos are really helping me with my goats and your knowledge really does know no bounds!
It's awesome to never stop learning! I love the kitty cameos too! ♥
I wish I could taste that butter....yummmm
So good!! Thanks for being here! ♥
This is a fantastic video. Thank you for taking so much time to show a lot of ways you are using, storing, and utilizing all the milk in different ways. This year we got 2 bottle baby milk goats that we hope will start our herd down the lovely road of dairy and with this collaboration, we can not wait to make all these lovely things with milk. Thank you again for explaining so much in detail! Hope you have a wonderful day!
Congrats on your bottle babies!!
thankyou so much for everything you do. You are amazing !
I appreciate that! ❤️ thanks for being here!
Super fantastic video! I have so much more appreciation for butter than I ever did before. I love that you're collaborating w/the Mennonites and how you're always thinking ahead and all the subtleties you notice and appreciate and...I could go on and on. It was super neat to see the butter break from the buttermilk as best you could show. It was still very apparent. Your goats are the cutest. You work so hard and are so organized and methodical. I remember trying powered milk as a kid (because it was all we had) & thinking it was disgusting. Thanks for sharing your expertise. I doubt I'll ever make butter of my own but I know what all goes into it because I've seen it with my own eyes. Funny story, my sister and I went to a wedding out of state and she complimented the chef on some special butter they served all of the guests (everything was amazing). They ended up sending her a whole stick of butter home. We had to figure out a way to get it back from Illinois to Minnesota on a bus. I can't remember exactly how we did it but we managed to get it back intact. What a treat!
Hahah that's amazing! Butter souvenir!! Thanks so much for your kind words and encouragement, as always! ♥
Thank you so much for your video! It is wonderful to see that butter can be made pretty easily using goat's milk!
It sure can! Thanks for watching! ♥
I only do a quart at a time in my chef size kitchen aid. I have to put a towel or cheesecloth over it. Messy but worth it!
Definitely!! haha! ♥
This video has us excited to try making our own butter 😃
Thanks for making this video and all the other informational videos you make ❤️
I'm so glad !! Thanks for watching!
I love that cream separator! This was a wonderful tutorial thank you so much for sharing! 😊❤
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
That mold is awesome!
I love it and I want a bigger one!
A very informative video. Love homemade butter. Your goats are precious. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!! ♥️♥️
WOW Heather. A very awesome and educational video. Thank you so much for sharing. Love and Blessings to you all. ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
Thank you, Doris!! ♥️
You can buy a baby clothes washer machine, I am from Saudi Arabia and a lot of women here buy one specifically for milk because butter machines are very expensive
They work the same way though so you can purchase one and use it 🎉
That is cool!! I'll have to look that up, thank you!
من وين بالسعودية بالضبط؟ أنا نجدي وأول مرة اسمع بهالحركة العجيبة! فيه مغسلة معينة تنصحين بها؟

She is a wreck, in the best way LOL. I'm going to show her on video soon and the way she's been acting EVERY morning before milking!
Great video! Thank you so much for sharing ♥️
Thanks for being here Tammy! ♥♥♥
i love this video on making butter ty
Thanks Cheryl!! ♥♥
I never knew you could make butter or whip cream from goat milk.
Sure can! You can do anything you can also make with cow's milk! :)
I really enjoyed your video. Love the wagging tails when babies are drinking. Thank you for sharing the butter making process. >Susan
The little tails are adorable! Thanks for watching! ♥
This video came at the perfect time! We finally purchased a cream separator this year just so we could make butter. We failed a few times then finally got it but I learned a few more things from this video! Thanks!
I'm so glad!!! Happy butter-making!!
Thanks for showing us the cream separator. That looks like it makes it more easier.
You're so welcome!! Thanks for watching!
Now that looks like such good butter! Thank you for sharing!
It's delicious ! Thanks for watching !
I love the content that you put into your videos. It inspires to get more creative with my goats milk.
Yay I'm so glad! That's the whole goal! ♥
Oh that butter looks so good. I can only imagine how nice it must be on homemade biscuits. With honey. LOL.
Delicous!!! You're probably imagining it perfectly! 😊
Thank you for this video! So awesome that you are able to make so much of your own butter! Goats are one of my future/long term goals and I thought it wasn't possible to make butter from goats milk. Thank you for sharing that you are able to.
You're so welcome! You can make anything with goats milk that you can with cows milk as long as you have a cream separator!
You always do such a great job. Thank you!
Thanks so much Cathy!! ♥️
Wow! You are an amazing fount of dairy knowledge. Great video on butter. Never thought you could make butter from goat milk. Learning so much from yo all.
Awe thanks so much! ♥
Wow! Love your very informative video!. Love what you are doing with the goat milk! Thanks for sharing this informative video!
I really appreciate your videos! I'm definitely going to have to get that cream separater and the butter molds!! We have 6 does that are bred this year. We'll have at least 8 next year. I'm definitely going to have to start making butter and cheese to keep up with it all. We normally drink the milk and feed it to bottle babies but we will have so much extra in the near future! I'm so excited and so appreciative that I can just refer back to your videos! I'm going to make the butter and the mozzarella to start! Thank you so much for sharing!!
You're SO welcome! I'm so excited that you'll be coming into tons of milk soon! It's really a blessing!!
Love your farm, I miss living on a farm so much... Living through you 🤣
Thanks so much! Happy to provide that bit of nostalgia! ♥
I have seen other homesteaders put a towel over their mixer when making butter to keep the mess at a minimum. I have never had goat milk butter, it looks good.😄
Seems like a common theme haha! Thanks so much for watching!
Just want to thank you for turning me on to this collaboration!! Since seeing this video (the first time) I've watched nearly all of them to catch up! I'm loving all of them!! Thanks so much Heather!! 😊 God bless!
You are so welcome! It's definitely a fun one!
So yummy looking. Lots of wild goats, but not much grass for feeding them.
Lots of people feed hay year round, We might have to feed hay if it won't rain!
Thank you! This was very helpful. I'm learning to make all the things goat milk.
Glad it was helpful! Love goats!!
What a nice video! Thank you for sharing this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I use powdered milk to make my gluten free bread! That's so cool to see it.
Yes!! It's in a lot of recipes to include some cheese recipes and solid lotion bars! I have big plans, lol! Let me know if you need some powdered goat milk!
@SageandStoneHomestead seriously, I'd love some if you have extra! The purpose of it in the bread is to add proteins (low fat, store powdered milk is, of course, higher protein), but a little extra fat should just make the bread that much tastier.
Yeah I imagine it is going to add more of a soft texture! Yum!
Great seeing that with goats milk. Thx
Thanks for watching!
This video is loaded with good information.
Thank you!!
Very interesting! You explain very well how to make butter. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Wow, I didn’t know this was milk month but what fun. I have just three dairy goats I have been milking since March. I get about 1-1/2 gallons per day. I’ve been making chèvre, cheddar cheese, yogurt, evaporated milk, dehydrated milk, and some butter. This is awesome and what a reward because it’s so fresh! I love your cream separator and I am going to be looking into one. I love using my Bosch mixer to make cheese. A lot less mess. I laughed at my husband when he watched this with me. He said oh my she kisses her goats like you. 😂 I said that’s how we love them. Keep up the good work Heather. Hopefully I’ll be able to ship your package soon from nawnee’s Homemades. Peace friend
Thanks so much!! Sometimes I don't realize how often I kiss the goats until I'm editing a video lol!!! ♥️
Love it, thank you for sharing!!❤
Thanks so much for watching!! ♥♥
I never knew you could make butter from goat milk that’s very interesting to me thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great collaboration! I’m going to be referring back to these videos a lot!!
Thanks for watching!!
That cream separator is really interesting. As a child we’d get raw cows milk from our family friend and I’d shake that quart jar. Lots of work but so educational. Great video
Everyone should make butter that way just once!
I love your mold! I can’t wait until I can make my own butter! Great video
Thanks so much!!
That butter from soured cream is probably the same as cultured butter which is prized for use in baking or pancakes/waffles for example. Anywhere they’d use buttermilk you can use it.
yes, I'm sure!!! SO good.
I have been playing with my cream separator for a few years. It looks like we have the same unit. There are a couple of things I do differently. First, I run about 3 cups of the hottest tap water through the unit to heat up the disc. They work better. Second, at the end, I heat up 3 cups of skimed milk to 120 degrees F. I run this through the separator after all the other milk is finished. It melts any hardened cream in the disc for better emptying. I use skimmed milk to make ricotta. I whip the cheese after it has strained, and add back some of the butter and a bit of salt for flavor.
Thank you for the tips! ♥
Another great video Heather 🧈 💛 I can't wait to see the loofah to start growing.. I want to try to grow it hopefully next year. Fingers crossed I find a place to live soon. I have been looking into buying a camper just to get out of living in the car this summer. I hate the heat, well the heat inside a car in the summer time. All your kids (goat kids) are getting so big ❣️
A camper would be so great!! I'm always praying for you Diana!!
That was a very interesting and educational video. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us.
Thanks for being here Kate! ♥
I buy raw cow milk locally and make our butter. I got so tired of the mess from the stand mixer and use a food processor instead.
I started to make sour cream and then i use that to make cultured butter and take that buttermilk to make more sour cream, which makes more butter and buttermilk... its a beautiful cycle lol
Hahah I love it!! The food processor is a great idea!
I have a freeze dryer so plan to do my goat’s milk. I have freeze dried purchased cow cream.
Hello Heather. I've only made butter once not counting making butter with my students at school. When we made it at school we used whipping cream and the shake, shake, shake method. When I made it at home I used whipping cream and I made it in my food processor. It came out just fine. It was so delicious. ❤❤❤ How are you all doing?❤❤❤
I'm so intrigued by the food processor method!! I need to try that! We are doing well, getting into the groove of summer!!! How are you?!
@@SageandStoneHomestead I'm doing well. Just counting down the days to when my daughter and grandkids çome down from Portland Oregon. Just 2 more weeks. I'm so excited. ♥ ♥ ♥
Oh that's so exciting !!!!
Hello. This is so awesome. I've not made butter. You done a fantastic job on the steps!! I will have to try making butter one day. Thank you for making this video for us.. appreciate it!
You're so welcome! Thanks for watching!!
Really nice video and I learn a lot from the this video and the steps to get to the butter stage and thank you !!!!
You're so welcome, thanks for watching!
I am so excited to try that on my own with my girls! Thanks for the great video!
Thanks so much for watching!!
I can't imagine how long it would take to shake the mason jar before getting butter!
Like 45 minutes!! LOL
New subscriber thanks to the dairy month collab! The kids are so excited to learn how to make butter! Thanks for a great tutorial! ❤
Yay I'm so glad!! Welcome to the channel! ♥
Thank you so much! I'm inspired now to keep the excess goat milk and get started making butter and cheese! For some reason, I didn't think we had enough milk yet, but saving it over several days makes it doable!
YAY that's awesome!! Enjoy!
I need a cream separator. They are NOT cheap.
I think ours was about $300! It isn't cheap but also doesn't take super long to pay itself off with things that are not purchased at the store. It's a good chunk up front though!!
I’m not at a point where I can make my own yet, but I really enjoyed your video! And those babies…sooo adorable!! 😊💕
Thanks Gloria!! ♥️♥️
Thank you!! How fun to learn this technique. Actually watched my Mom make butter back in the 60's. She did not have a pretty Kitchen Aid though!😍
Did she have a crank churn? They are fun for a little while ! Haha
@@SageandStoneHomestead she had one that was electric that was about 36 inches tall that sat on floor. It was pretty amazing and wish I had one now just for the memories!
Wow that sounds so cool!!!
Omg I had no idea that making butter was such a process, but sure want to try!! Thanks for sharing
It's worth it!! ♥️🧈
Carolyn at "Homesteading Family" might have information on making butter from freeze-dried, reconstituted milk.
She would be the person to check out! Thanks so much, I'll look that up!
Loved seeing your baby goats, so excited with their tails waging. You did a fantastic job explains the butter making process, equipment and uses of the skim. The separator looks intense so good on ya for providing a healthy option for your family! Thank you so much.
I love the cream separator ! A little intimidating at first but very useful! Thanks for watching!
I have to put a cream separater on my list .
I love mine!
I look forward to learning with each and every channel! I wish i could join in i would share my homemade buttermilk cheese recipe, very tasty 😋
HANG ON have you sent that to me?!
If you did I have promptly dumped it out of my brain but not on purpose!!
@@SageandStoneHomestead nope this is something new I've invented. Or maybe not I'm not sure if anyone has ever tried making cheese out of buttermilk before now🤔, if so I've never heard of it. But it is very good crumbled on asparagus or a spinach omelet. I couldn't stop sneaking in the fridge to get spoonfuls lol
It sounds LOVELY!
@@SageandStoneHomestead its simple and I've tried to make it several ways so if people don't have raw milk they can still make it. I don't mind to share with you if you want to share it with everyone else this month. Or not whichever is fine😊 i don't claim to know alot but i don't mind sharing what i do ❤🧀🥛
I want to make so many homemade dairy product! Some day.
It's a blast!! Always dishes lol!
I can't wait till I can try making butter for my family to save some money
It's so fun too!
@@SageandStoneHomestead There is a lot of stuff I want to do but right now I don't have the time since I work full time or the space. Also my HOA doesn't allow certain stuff.
I used my cream separator once using our goats milk. I didn't have good experience with it. Now seeing you use the cream separator, I am going to try again. Thank you show me how to make butter.
Oh no did it spray milk out the side? Go slow opening the valve! I sometimes don't even open it fully.
@@SageandStoneHomestead Yes it sprayed all over. I had milk all over, if you're not making a mess then you are not learning.
So true but those lessons are hard!!
Excellent video, thank you
Thanks for watching!
So awesome, thank you for sharing and giving so many tips/options! I am excited and curious to see if the dehydrated (whole) milk can be turned into butter/cheese, so I'll be looking for that for sure come fall/winter! (Whenever you get around to it, no rush from me! Just happy you mentioned it as something you plan to try.)
I can see recipes online for soft cheeses and mozzarella using storebought dehydrated milk but I'm thinking homemade freezedried raw milk may be better and have more options? We shall see!
Great video. I didn't know we could separate goat milk. Ha ha, why didn't I think of it? Oh well, we don't have goats any more. Great video...I wish I saw this one before I started out making butter.
Thanks so much for watching! Separating goat's milk is such a game changer!! ♥
