Hey Sean, You should look into swapping out the running board brackets for the F-150 brackets... VERY simple mod that raises the running boards to just below the door line. Makes the truck look SUPER sweet!! The swap out takes about 5-7 minutes per bracket as all the holes are the same! I would put a pic in here of the results, but it doesn't allow them.. GREAT videos man!! Keep it up!!!

how did you unencript the key from forscan??
@@tjenkins1964 I did not have to unencrypt the key, I only enabled remote start in Forescan and that was it as I remember..

I tried this with my iPhone, bought the OBD2 deal, paid for the forescan app and could complete nothing. Very bummed out by this purchase. Glad it worked for you.
You need to use a computer, the phone app can't do anything compared to the program.
Also FORScan is a FREE product... Whoever asked you to pay just scammed you unfortunately

Moostang, love the videos! I installed this on my 2017 xlt, it worked great for a while but now when I hit my brakes all my climate controls shut off. As soon as I let oof the brakes it comes back on. Did you have this problem or do you think there's a short in the wiring somewhere?

Can you also use the Ford Pass app to use remote start along with the key fob?
I still can’t get into the module to add trans temp to the top of the gauge using forscan. But have been able to do just about everything else I’ve wanted.
ever have issues with the AC or heat changing when you use the remote start? My heater comes on every time i use it, and you're close enough to Houston to know that's not going to fly.

I just bought a 21 f250 stx and it came with heated and power mirrors. I bought mirrors that have the running lights and turn signals but they don’t work. It’s all wired up and they plugged right in. I’m at the dealer now thinking they could turn that function on but they said they couldn’t, do you think that scan tool will cut those functions on? Thanks
Can you turn on the features with Forscan before installing the hardware?
Did you have any issues with the alarm getting more sensitive? I put this on my 2022 and got it all working and just the garbage truck driving by set my alarm off. Just wanted to see if someone else had the same issue.

Hey moostang, did you notice how much range you have on your remote start? I have installed the same kit and can’t remote start it unless I am right next to the truck with the remote, tried a fresh battery. Just curious if you have noticed this with yours.
Does this work if you have the remote start by app but no fob button? Would love to not use app every time

There is a aftermarket remote start available with no programing. Any reason to use this one over the other one at $98.
I have that control for 3 years now engine light came on take for dealer say have code p20ee and exhaust small bad the say bc that is conect dlc is why truck have problems with exhaust and dpf not sure if that is true

When you remote start on cold days does it let the glow plugs run? I guess what I asking is she you start with a key you wait till the squiggly line goes away before you turn the truck over. Does the remote start do that too?

I installed the remote start as described. Remote start works great. I did have an issue with the parameter alarm activating every time my wife pulled in and out of the garage. I adjusted the sensitivity switch and alarm, at least audible part, stopped. Now I find my truck batteries are low. Any known fixes??? Please help
I installed this module on my ‘18 F250 and although remote start works great this activates the perimeter sensing alarm which I hate. My truck horn is always chirping and lights flashing every time a motorcycle or loud truck drives by my house. I had to remove this module to make it stop.
Deleting the truck anytime soon?
Hey, I have a 2017 super duty and you say in the video that this part number is for a 2017 to 2019. I was looking around and the dealership site says the part number you listed is for a 2018 to 2019 and part number for the 2017 is FT4Z-19A361-A. Do you have any insight as to which is correct for a 2017? Thanks in advance.
I'm a tech at Ford. You are correct. This is for 2018 and up. The 2017 was the last year for the old style which uses it's own FOBs and the installation of a antenna. Part #s are FT4Z-19A361-A and EL3Z-19G364-B.
Before you did this, Could you remote start your truck from the ford pass app?
So you don't need the harness that connects to the lights switch?
no you don't I also only needed forscan to enable the lights otherwise was able to do it with just the keys on my 2019
At end of video you plugged in a small plug with a wire looped back into itself. Then vehicle started. Did it come with kit or did you buy it seperate? If seperate where purchased and how much? Thanks, marvin
Hey Marvin, everything came in the kit except for the Forscan device. Bought that on Amazon.
@moostang09 thanks for replying. Called your ford supplier and asked them about the jump wire an they denied there was one in package. Found same part less the jump wire for $109. Going to make my own jump wire.
Does that give glow plug time to warm up ?

As for the ( As Built Format) Every time I click the Play button it says “Sorry you need an Extended License to run this function”
You can go to this website and get a free extended license. I think you have to do it every 30 days or so. Its easy. forscan.org/forum/extlic.php?

Have you ever heard of a kit that allows you to add the push button start feature? I have the remote start on my Lariat but don’t have the push to start and want to add it if possible. Thank you.
Ian I have not. I am actually wanting to look into that for my dad. He has a lariat like you but not push button.

what about the shock/impact sensor that is included on the module, did you try it ?? thats the most important part LOL
The perimeter sensor is way too sensitive IMO. I brought my truck to the Ford dealer to adjust sensitivity and the alarm still goes off every time a loud motorcycle or truck drives by my driveway. I finally uninstalled this module to go back to stock 😢
Saw another commentator ask. In cold weather how does it wait for the glow plugs?
I had a 2017 super duty diesel with remote start from the factory and on cold days it seems to wait a few seconds longer than normal after initiating the start-up before it cranked over. It always started right up, even on very cold days in Colorado. I think that the ECM, once you activate the remote start function, will know what to do.
