- Thanks for watching guys! All parts are listed in the description below.
I had some struggles but was able to prevail and get this kit on the truck. Overall I am satisfied with the performance of the kit and I think it looks killer on the Beast!

Great informative content video! I really enjoyed you doing the step by step install! Giving tools required, bolt/nut sizes & detailed instructions. Especially, since the instructions seemed vague. Great tip on re-torque the nuts after 100, 500 miles then on oil changes.
I just did a total front end job on my ‘05 F350 only to find out my steering gear box has a little play in it. Going to try an adjustment first to buy some time to get a RedHead box & now I’m thinking of doing the dual stabilizers as well.
Thanks for all you do making your videos!
Thank you for watching Joseph! I really enjoy doing the installs and not only showing the install and tools but my speed bumps during the install as well. I know that’s fairly uncommon on CZcams but I think a “real” install can be more helpful.
I just hit 500 miles on it and had to readjust them upwards in the far ends as they started to sag/ they weren’t parallel with the drag bar at install. Other than that all is well with the kit!
I appreciate your viewership sir. Thanks again for watching!
@@moostang09 shoulda put the bolts facing up,so thread dont pick up debris. but then,,you dont 4 wheel it so it dont matter..
Hey Moostang thanks for all your videos. You've helped me out substantially with my F250. I appreciate it. The steering stabilizer is on my list of to-do's. Thanks again!
Just added this to my 250 and went on a 400 mile trip, used the Bilstein shocks. Could definitely feel a difference. Your video helped in the install. Thanks.
Only half way through watching your video and I have to say your teaching style is AMAZING! So easy to follow, I appreciate it it immensely!!!
Thank you for watching!!! 🤘🏼
I’m going to get a 2017 f250 this week and I’m already watching your videos for tips lol it’s my first diesel so I’m excited ! I’m subscribing for sure
Just ordered these for my 2014 6.7. Went w 5100 because fox was on back order. Thanks for the install video. Looks well built
Just installed mine. Your video was my step by step guide. Thank you!!
Agreed! PMF should just send this link instead of those half-ass instructions.
Your video helped me a lot !! I’m kind of doin the same build and mods . Your videos been helping me a lot !! Thanks for all those great videos and please keep more coming !!
Big thanks moostang09... your installation video help me get mine installed on my 19 f250... I tried several times to contact pmf to get installation instructions cause mine didn’t have them . I appreciate your informative video 👍
Thanks I’ve viewed this video several times and pulled the trigger and bought the kit. Thanks and keep up the good work
How long did the shipping take
@@ameliebardwell7674 ordered on April 24th it came today May 10th
Bro, very informative video. You always cover all of the bases. One word of advice, Focus!!!
Thanks for this video! Recently developed a nasty death wobble in my ‘19 F250, and this was really helpful! Now I know it’s no big deal to fix it.
How many miles and is it stock? I ask cause I just bought a 2019 a few months ago. thxs!
I picked up a set of pmf fox dual stabalizers for my 17 F-350 cant wait to install them.
Hello Moostang, great video!
I ordered the kit for my 2017 F250 on Monday 7/13/2020, from watching the video and listening to you describe in detail it sounds like you recommend this particular kit and are very satisfied with it,
I have been having the same problems as you described on your test drive
Thanks
I know you don't go 4 Wheeling much, but whenever you install something under your truck, you should always face the bolts to the rear or upwards! This prevents the bolts from hanging up on something when you're going forward and they also don't pick up sticks/branches this way. And if you ever hit a rock under there it won't snap your bolt off.
Not exactly true.
I have a 2017 F250 that I bought used a year ago. When I picked it up, I had experienced the death wobble on the way home on the highway after going over a bridge expansion gap. Had no idea what it was at the time. Well, after learning about it, I also discovered the prior owner had the tech bulletin to replace the track bar and steering damper, which obviously didn't fix it. I installed the PMF dual stabilizer shortly after experiencing the issue as I didn't want to be dealing with death wobble while towing our camper. It hasn't happened since! I am very pleased with PMF unit. It is heavy duty. I also have a stock height truck and this was the only one I found that would work on stock height as others wanted at least a 2" lift. I've had no problems and have 21,000 miles on since the installation. My only recommendation is to make sure you torque down the bolts to the front differential cover to 34lb/ft like the factory had it. The instructions only have you torque to 20 lb/ft, which had caused a very minor amount of oil to start make its way out. It was just enough to make it wet around the cover. After I retorqued to 34 lb/ft, the oil seepage went away. So, for any of you that are considering this for your truck and have death wobble, this is the best money spent on your truck.
That is awesome to hear! I am glad you were able to fix your death wobble issue so you could enjoy the truck. Luckily I have never experienced it but from the videos I have seen it looks terrifying when it happens. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting your experience with the parts. 👊🏼
I can’t find a stabilizing kit anywhere for my stock 2014 F350 4x4
Great install video! DFW Stangs would be proud
This is the one video I'll use! Thank you. I think your the only truck mod guy on youtube that knows how to use a tripod, all the other guys seem to hold their phones in their teeth. . .
Thx for the information and guidance on the install. I have the exact same vehicle. I get the wobble every once in a while when I hit small bumps to that I'm looking to get rid of.
Very good video. The reason you had trouble with the large bracket mounting to the dif and axle is that you should have started the dif bolts and gone in only 4-5 threads. If you tighten those up first, the bracket will pull away from the axle, creating too wide of a gap for the bolts to span. All else was spot on.
Loved your install very informative, I will be putting this on my F350
Thanks for checking it out! Make sure to subscribe, there are a bunch more installs on the channel. 👊🏼
I have a 2019 F350 and that shutter in the steering happens with me also on bumps. Glad I found this video
Was their any noticeable difference after installed?
Installing this same kit, exact same issues. Even with the bracket bolts being to short. I started with the Rancho kit because it was about 100 bucks less, got what I paid for. Within a week the bracket was torqued and the dampener bolt was bent. I should have started with the PMF, the construction quality is 10x better
Just put this on my 19. I went your route and picked up the 2” bolts. One of the diff cover bolts has bad threads. Put the original in as a stop gap. I also connected the outside brackets to the dampers first so I could get the right angle to hook them up. Have to see how it is after some extended drives.
Very smart thing to do for all trucks.
Good job and thanks for being transparent 👌
After raising truck, I didn’t have the clearance to remove the coil springs and not able to install the spacer. I used a small bottle jack between the track arm and chassis. That gave me the clearance I needed. After that it was a piece of cake putting everything back.
PMF kit was constantly on back order. Went with the Kelderman kit through another company. Mounting bracket has a spacer for the diff cover. Slightly quicker install but their directions were seriously lacking.
Thank you for this very informative video. I"m looking to get rid of the shimmy and shake on my '17 F-250 as well as the occasional "death wobble" since Ford doesn't seem to want to fix it. I'm hoping this and changing out the shocks will take care of my trucks steering issues.
Same here did you install this ?
@@mgl_outdoors8836 Yes, I installed the PMF Dual Steering Stabilizer with the Bilstein's. Took care of the DW at this point. I haven't re-aligned the truck yet but waiting until I install the new Bilstein shocks first. I've been too sick to get out there to do it.
@6XChamps just got the new damper installed by Ford today to fix the death wobble. Seems much more solid now.
I had to upgrade my track bar to a contico it has a hine joint and alleviates the wear on the ball joint. I wore out my rough country adjustable track bar in two months with the leveling kit. You might wanna think about updating that track bar world of difference.
Just added this to my 2019 today and this video saved me a huge headache as no insturctions come and when you find them they are vague...only positive was my 1 3/4" bolts worked didnt need to buy the 2" like you did
Great install video bro , I had mine install by 4Wheel Parts, because it was installed with a 6 inch lift, running 37 inch tires , not only works great but looks good , on the 2018 f250. #AFanAlways
I bet it helped! Will make changing the diff fluid a pain though
Love your videos man. I just purchased a 2019 F250 XLT a few days ago and am watching through all of your videos to check out your upgrades. I was wondering two things...(1) will this help keep that dreaded death wobble from potentially occurring? I haven't had any issues yest but and terrified at the possibility. Especially when pulling my caper with my family. Also, I feel like the steering is very loose. When I go over bumps the truck likes to move around. Will this tighten up the front end some? Make it feel more solid? Also, hows it holding up a year later? Still go with this setup? Thanks man!
Is your truck at stock height? I like the way my 2019 sit but will upgrade the suspension as it wears out. Plus going for a look also. Love the step by step in the driveway. Not everyone has a shop
At nineteen minutes, you had the washer on correctly the first time, goes on the bottom. Putting on under the shock eyelet, it will cause more binding at the eyelet. Eyelet needs to be able to move
My 2017 that I bought in 2020 came with Rancho stabilizers in place, but one was rock dented and leaking. Didn't want to swap the hardware so I replaced with new Ranchos. Very happy with it, but I REALLY want to replace the 4 shocks with Foxes. Maybe in the summer.
PMF with the Bilstein stabilizers and Bilstein 4600 Series shocks all installed. Ford previously replaced just about every front end component with the "new and improved" parts and so far; no DW. So far, I'm sold on the PMF. Sean, they should pay you a comission on sales of their stabilizers from your video.
Great Video. Looking at purchasing the PMF Dual with Bilstein Shocks
Think I just blew a seal on my OEM dampener. Does the instructions say you still need the OEM dampener or do you happen to know if you can remove them completely?
Love your videos, does it took care of death wobbling? also what is the biggest tire i can put it on my f-250 2017? currently i have275/65/R18 on it andits about the time to change it.
I'm thinking about buying this kit even if my truck only wobbled once with 10,000 miles . I think the stock top stabilizer need to be replaced also .
Nice job , I love if when you fix your own truck saving money and learning how to maintain.
Great HONEST video...thanks!!
You might want to check your outer bracket mounting locations. The newer instructions from PMF specify 19-7/8 not 19-1/8 for Fox dampeners. When you tested yours on the video you were bottoming out the shock when at full lock.
Yep. I just installed these on my truck today. Instructions were updated to 19 7/8 from eye to eye. They also updated they bolt sizes in the instructions to match what's provided. The 1 1/2" bolts worked fine. I just had to clamp one side down a bit to get all 4 on.
@@pohump I installed the top two bolts until they were just catching the threads and then squeezed the bottom of the brackets together with vise grips and did not have any problems with the 1-1/2” bolts
@@tbwill Yeah. I did basically the same. Just started on the bottom first.
I noticed that too Tom watching the video for the first time
I put a R C on my f 250 my said to remove the factory one I dint see you remove yours
Did you have to get a alignment after install am putting a 4 inch lift on my 2017 f250 with 22 in rims and 37 inch tires nitto rigged going to put a stabilizer on mine
Nice I have thought about doing the same thing to my Jeep. One of the many things that I still need to do. Keep up the good work.
I put about 250 miles on the truck today and I can tell you it makes a significant difference! The steering feels much more firm now and does not have the twitchiness and jumpiness it has before.
I bet, it is nice to see the install and get feedback after the fact. Once grad school is done I think I am gonna get that taken care of.
Hello there.
My questions is that kit helps anything for the truck.
Thank you for your time.
Well done video, brother. How did this hold up? I may put this on my '17 (we have the same truck). Thanks.
Great vid bro
Great video man , how much this kit cost? And will they fit my F450 2017?
Planning to install this to my new f250
Hello! Will this fit a 2018 f250 4x4 with stock height? I don't want to do a leveling kit I just put 35s. Thanks!
Hey I think you need to rotate the outer u bolt brackets up some, it won't make the shocks pivot down so much when turning
it looks like it might stop your steering prematurely, you get all the way to full shock compression when you turned it and seems to hit the shock. Did you notice a reduction in turning radius?
100 thumbs up 👍🏻!!! Thank you very much man.
Thinking about switching to the PMF bracket…the BDS one always drops after xxx amount of miles which then starts to rub the steering
Hey might be a dumb question but just wanted know are you suppose to leave your factory steering stabilizer on after you put the dual one one? Just curious because I seen you did, so basically you have 3 stabilizers
By chance do you have the model # of fox steering stabilizers that came with the kit? I have a Wicked Dual steering stabilizer kit I’m about to purchase the stabilizers and replacing with fox. Thanks Larry
I noticed you didn't remove the stock stabilizer shock above. I have seen other installation instructions that mention removal of it.
Hey boss. So I had my first "death wobble" incident on saturday in my 2019 f250. Have you had any issues after having this insstalled?
Hi, did you ever find out why the u bolts didn't fit correctly? Did pmf address the issue? Thanks!
Why install a dual vs replacing the original stock with something like a high-end Fox? The previous owner of my 2017 installed a dual stabilizer and I'm trying to decide between upgrading its shocks or removing it and replacing the original stock stabilizer with something like a Fox.
Can you tell me what the measurement is from the center of the front axle to the bottom of the front fender?
Will this keep from getting the death wobble? And also should the front end have an alignment check after that?
Have you ever had the death wobble ? And if you did, did the stabilizer help thanks
at 21:58 it looks like the extended side of each shock mount is not level with the center bracket. notice the center bracket is bending when you go full lock on the tires.
Hey it’s been 2 years since you install the dual steering stabilizer. Have you experience any more wobble? Pls reply with some feedback
Good video, I went with procomp dual stabilizer kit to match 3.5 procomp lift. Seems to have same results on 37’s. Less auto center on steering. I also added Bilstien 5100 shocks that are great. Adding sumospring bumpstops to rear for towing. They work great.
Glad to hear you had a positive experience with the Procomp kit and the bilsteins. It’s also good to hear I am not alone in the thought that the autocentering is slow.
Thanks for watching Jay and for the input on your setup. 👍🏼
I've got an ICON steering stabilizer kit on my 2017 F250 6.7 and they tell you to remove the stock steering stabilizer. I think you left yours on?
My 2007 Ford F-250 has a leveling kit but I’m running 37s. Would one of these dual stabilizers work with just a leveling kit??
I have issues pulling a 30 trailer and every car that drives by me sucking me in, do you think this will help? Already have a anti away bar on the hitch
Have you made an updated video after the install?
Nice video bro very helpful
have you put the fox 2.0's on the corners yet? if so, how do you like them???
Wouldn’t measuring the distance from bracket eye to bracket eye before mounting the shocks make more sense???
Hello Moostang09, I know I'm quite late to get on the bus I just have a question I need for you to clarify for me. Did you remove the original steering stabilizer that came with your truck or you left it installed along with your PMF Suspension Dual Stabilizer? I ordered mine 22 Oct 2020 I still have no tracking number and today I ordered 4 sets of shocks from them. I opted for Bilstein shock it's cheaper than the Fox. Anyway, thank you for any assistance you can provide. V/R RickL
hello, can you tell me where you ordered the PMS steering stabilizer?
Very good video. Would you recommend this product for a 2019 F-350 dually? My 2019 F-350 dually already has a front stabilizer bar, so I'm not sure if it can be replaced by the one you installed.
I would 100% recommend this product. I have had no issues with it performing as it should. Still working great!
Did this help with the death wobble issue?
Why did you decide to go with dual steering instead of single steering stabilizers?
What size tires and wheels are on your F250?
Great video but I still don't understand the whole issue with the four 1 1/2" bolts - did they fit or not? You put 2" on but at the end said the others could have worked. Are they too short or not?
That's what I was seeing, the 1 1/2 bolts should have been the right length. The 2" bolts were not threaded all the way and nut could bottom out on the shoulder of the bolt. I would put the shorter bolts back in and retighten. Should be easy if you change them one at a time
So another question. How do you know if the front wheels are pointed perfectly straight ahead? Why "perfectly"? Well, since you are dealing with measurements that are as fine as 1/8", the wheels can be imperceptibly "off straight" to totally screw up the measurements - i.e. shocks could be too long on one side and too short on the other, with the potential for major steering damage. It seems to me that even though the manufacturer specifies a fine tolerance (19 1/8"), this is really only a starting point. Once the job is finished, you need to take the wheels lock-to-lock and see how much you are off then compensate by moving the end brackets. Since this fellow was very careful to measure accurately and yet his settings were off, it just seems that it's not a matter of "if" it's off but rather how much it's off. This was pretty obvious when the author tried his and the driver side shock bottomed out and pushed against the center bracket. Anyone have a suggestion on how to accurately gauge front wheel straightness prior to bolting this thing together?
You don’t have to remove the stock stabilizer?
Thanks for your video it was very helpful, but I think I have a correction for you. I just in stalled the same steering stabilizer kit from PMF in Tucson, AZ. on my (2017 F-350 crew-cab SD Diesel) I went down there from Apache Junction, AZ., and talked to Trevor, I also got the caster bushings and heavy duty track bar and a pair of Fox 2.0 front shocks from him also. I installed all of the components myself at home and just took it in for a front end alignment. In the instructions for that twin Fox steering stabilizer kit it said the measurement for the Fox 2.0 stabilizer ending in 170 to be set at 19 7/8 inches center to center, not the 19 1/8 inch that you said in your video, I did see in your video that yours looked like they bottomed out on each turn to the left and right. Just something you might want to look at again. I did all this work to the truck myself due to the fact that my truck started the Death Wobble that is so talked about all over the internet that Ford can't seem to fix, their answer is to replace a $65.00 steering stabilizer and that does not fix the problem. So far I am very pleased with this repair that I did, this truck steers better then it did when I brought it home from the dealer. Total cost was about $1,500.00 but well worth the money, the truck handles better then new. When it would go into that Death Wobble it would just scare the hell out of you, the wobble got very violent and it would do this while pulling my 43 ft 5th wheel toy hauler at 70 mph, that weights in at 19,000 lbs, the only thing I could do was hit the breaks and hang on tight to the steering wheel, it would not stop the violent wobble till I slowed the rig down to about 35 mph. Thanks again for your CZcams videos I have enjoyed them.
Does this fix "death wobble"?
Ive got a 2017 KR and I’ve got about 62k on it. Installed leveling kit and some 35’s, truck rides like total $H*T. Was told to maybe look into this kit. Not sure if it will help or not. Steering wheel shakes and you feel every bump in the road (tires at 60psi) Toyo open country RT and have been re balanced with very low road force. Who knows worth a shot I guess
On 35s 60psi is way to high for regular day use . I recommend doing the chalk test to get the best results with 35s especially being 10-12 ply the higher pressure isn’t needed unless your towing so that would definitely help with the feeling of every bump like you said . And as for the wheel shaking make sure the tires as balanced and make sure you check all suspension components like trackbar tie rods drag link ball joints especially . These steering stabilizers only mask your issue it is not a resolution by any means
Anybody running this take out the Stock Dampener? That might help with the his returning wheel issue.
Does this kit work on the electronic steering models?
Is it ok to leave the stock stabilizer on there?
Did you remove the factory stabilizer
I am running 22s on 37s on my f350 there’s a small wobble when I hit between 40 and 45 mph do you think installing this stabilizer will fix the problem? Thank you
balance your wheels and tires perfectly. those massive tires are bound to be out of balance severely
What does it do, what is the benefit to do that
What are the part # on the stabilizers?
Good job.
Hey man, have you thought about itstalling a keyless entry (Keypad) ??
I have not. That would be a good install and factory upgrade. If I could do that and the push start I would be more than happy to make that happen. I might need to do some research.
So I just installed the same exact kit. There is no need to buy extra bolts. My adice is to leave the bolts for the diff covers loose for the back bracket. once all 4 bolts have their nuts on them then tighten the main middle bracket down. No need for longer bolts you just cannot tighten everything down until bolts all have their nuts and washers on them
Glad I read this, I was in the middle of my install, ran into the same issue. Saved me a trip to the hardware store! Thanks!
Can you rotate the dampeners up a bit? I noticed at 22:02 in when you check the turning, it looks like the bottom of the bolts on the outside edges (tire side) dip down quite a bit - perhaps that's an optical illusion; but I was thinking that if you go "full lock" either direction and were off road that the bottoms of those bolts, etc., could get beat up.
It does appear they dip down some but I think my wide angle lens distorts it a bit too. It is almost a fish eye style lens but it doesn’t have as much distortion as a gorpro would.
I could also flip those bolts around and install them in the opposite way.
@@moostang09 True. My only reservation with that is if the nut backs off and falls out you also lose the bolt.
I've experienced death wobble quite a few times on my '18 SD diesel Lariat crewcab 4x4 and was planning on going this route if the dealer "fix" didn't work, (a replacement steering stabilizer and rebalancing of my tires - allegedly) at 26,000 miles.
Thanks for doing your videos - I used the front lower valance video that you did as a tutorial to replace my 4x4 valance with a 4x2 like you did. Specifically, thanks for showing all of the necessary tools needed or recommended after you did your modification, it saved me some grief.
That is good to hear the videos are of some assistance Dan. I hear you on flipping it and risking the potential to lose the bolt. It might also be possible to use a 3” bolt rather than a 4” in this location.
That kit isn't supposed to work with a 2" or less lift/level kit according to the mfg's website. Think I'm going to go with the Stryker kit and Fox 2.0 stabilizer shocks. Thanks for the video.
The website says it works with stock height or lifted trucks.
Hello - How did you manage to avoid the low tire pressure light while running those tires? I'm running Ridge Grappler 37s at 50 psi, which triggers the light. Thanks!
You can set PSI in the truck ecu when you go into the menu
@@MrN8007 Do you need FORScan to do that? Thanks.
@@edwardh8954 I don't think so. Often the dealer will do it for free if you ask. There is a tire size in the menu somewhere depending on model and software version
Great vid. Thanks. I will pay someone to do it for my f250. I am light on tools.
