I just installed the factory remote start (part # JS7Z-19A361-A) on my 2018 F-350 XLT and used forscan to enable it and I was able to just use the key flip fob that came with the truck for the remote start using the Lock, unlock, lock sequence, so I didn't need to buy the extra fobs used in the video. Thank you Arod for all you do for the community, your videos are most helpful and appreciated.
Looks like a fun little install for ya. Came out nice and clean.
You can use ForScan to enable remote start and use the standard key fobs without the remote start button. Once enabled, you will use the sequence of lock-unlock-lock to start the engine. The message center screen is enabled.
Personally I don’t like having a second fob just for starting.

How did you find this out? Everything on the internet says you need another module... I'm tempted to load forscan up now and see if this is true since 2020+ superdutys can remote start from fordpass...
I tried this on my 2018 using forscan and it shows enabled in forscan but, it still won't start remotely. You mentioned the message center screen is enabled, what did you mean by this? there must be a step missing?

@@nukkles11 yeah i did the same thing because the module is already installed but i don't have the remote start button on my key fob. I enabled it in Forscan, but it still doesn't work.

Ryan Mayer on CZcams just did one on a F-150 that was plug and play. To start it you hit the lock button on key fob 3 times.
Sean that would be great on the 2019 F250. You won't have to get into a cold truck to go plowing.

ARod, Love the videos, thanks. I put this kit on my 2017 f250. It worked great for a bit but now when I press on the brake pedal my climate controls turn off. Do you think there's a short in the wiring or is there a brake pedal switch going bad? Let me know what you think? Thanks

Any thoughts on adding factory block heater. My 17 wasn't ordered with one. How difficult is the install. Hopefully not a cab off job to access freezout plug. A how too video would be awsom. 👍

Have you seen the recall for the DRL's being too bright on the LED equipped trucks? Be cool if you could do a video to see the before/after. I don't think I'd want mine to be dimmer unless it isn't that much of a change. Enjoy the videos as always!

A-Rod,Do the trucks that have Remote Start installed at the Factory use this same setup? Seems quite a bit different from the 11-16s where you just install the antenna and let the PCM know that she's ready.Lots of questions answered on this one.Take care Sir,-Adrencyde

Does the remote start warm the glow plugs? I have factory installed kit on my 13 f250. Always wonder that, I guess I could read the manual lol.
Yes it will most certainly will. Depending on the temp, the GP's can stay on actually for up to 120 sec after start up!

So easy! I installed one on my father in law’s Nissan Titan. What a PITA! So much wiring, splicing, soldering, shrink tubing, etc. The Ford was literally plug-n-play.
The small jumper wire at 1:06 that you called an “override” is not for remote start valet. It is an override for the security/shock sensor that is built into the module. So, it just makes the system a remote start only system, instead of a vehicle security and remote start system.
I know i should put a lil verbage there on the screen, i couldnt get what i wanted to say out of my mouth fast enough....lolol

The OBD2 t-harness for the kit has 2 wires attached to it. The first is a white with red stripe, the second is a solid white, any idea where these need to be attached to? It's for a 2019 f250 xlt

I take me truck today because have engine light on code p20ee and they say is because I plug that in the dlc say is why I have problems with the exhaust and dpf friend u think that can be a problem or no?

Check out 12voltsolutions.com they have a plug and play for the super duty and f150. Installs in about 3 minutes and uses the oem key.

Every year like clockwork, you can practically set the date on how many remote starters your going to install before christmas, not really hard to do at all Ford makes it pretty easy, and the customers love them, and its a quick little job and cash in your pocket... and yes thank god for IDS
