  • So you’ve decided to buy a silk pillowcase. Great idea! But you notice some new terms in the product descriptions...you’re seeing things like 19 momme, 22 momme, or 30 momme, and wondering what those numbers mean.
We’ve got answers! Momme is how we measure silk weight. And today I’ll help you figure out how to pick your perfect momme weight pillowcase.
Buying a Mulberry Park Silks pillowcase is a smart investment. Sleeping on a silk pillowcases is great for health and beauty. It can also make a big impact on your overall wellness.

But there are a few important decisions to make before you click our “add to cart” button. Along with choosing your favorite color and size pillowcase, you need to decide on the ‘silk weight”-- or momme -- that’s best for you.
Mulberry Park Silks pillowcases come in three weights, ranging from 19 to 30 momme.
Momme is a unit that measures the weight of silk. As the momme number increases, more silk is used in making the pillowcase. The weave is denser and the silk thread itself is heavier. A higher momme count pillowcase will be more expensive.
Think of “momme” as similar to thread count for cotton sheets. The higher the thread count number - the more cotton is used, and the denser the weave.
Learning a bit about the different momme silk weights can help you identify the silk pillowcase that works best for your personal preferences and budget:
19 momme is a lovely silk and our most affordable option. It has a competitive price point, which makes it a great purchase for anyone new to silk who wants to try it out. Our 19 momme pillowcases are luxurious and beneficial to hair and skin. However, they are made with less silk than higher momme weaves, so they tend to be a bit more delicate.
Our 22 momme silk pillowcase is a step up in both weight and price. We call this our signature silk pillowcase. It’s the same weight as our most popular silk sheets. Our 22 momme pillowcases offer excellent durability in a tight weave. You can absolutely feel the luxury in this pillowcase.
Our 30 momme pillowcases represent the ultimate in softness. They feel absolutely indulgent. These are our most expensive pillowcase and well worth the investment. Thirty momme is exceptionally durable. It has the highest density of silk, the tightest weave, and the thickest silk strands. It offers an incomparable feel and sleep experience.
At Mulberry Park Silks, all of our pillowcases are easy to care for. Even our heaviest weight fabric can be safely machine washed. We do recommend using a detergent formulated specifically for silk.

Hi! Any chance you’ll have any more colors in the 30 momme? I love the color of the rose quartz, but it only comes in 22 right now. Thanks!

PS to make there, they're and their easier, just remember the saying "Their tent is over there where they're camping". Makes it easier to remember "their" is when you're talking about someones thing, like a tent. "There" is a place, like pointing over there. And "they're" means they-are doing something, like camping :)
