I totally agree, it's definitely the LTT channel with the most unique and instantly distinctive aesthetic. It also feels more genuine and progresses "naturally" rather than being a very obviously scripted video. Each video has its own plot and story progression elements, which is awesome if you consider that these are just supposed to be hardware reviews

I went from an iPad Air 2 to the iPad Pro 11" 2021 last year. It was such a needed upgrade for performance but mainly because I've been using it for school and I love using it as my notebook and textbook. I got the Pro over another Air because the price difference after upgrading was so small and I felt 120 Hz would bring a way better-writing experience. And when turning 120 Hz off, I can definitely tell the difference when writing, it is just not as natural. Also, I wasn't able to go all into using an iPad as my only computer because there were some apps and even websites that only worked on a computer/Chrome for my schooling (Engineering).

This channel has really come into its own. When I first saw it, I must admit I was skeptical that anyone in the LMG Company could cover Apple products fairly and while being entertaining. This video I think it’s the best of the best, feeling like a friendly conversation about the state of the iPad, with top-notch, clear information, and amazing cinematography. I’m very impressed by the teams work and I’m looking forward to more. I also feel that MAC address participates the least in the Tech arm race, which has plagued the rest of the tech world

I ended up going with the 256gb 5th gen Air over the 128gb 11" Pro. At the end of the day both offered Apple Pencil 2 and Magic Keyboard support in the same size, so it came down to ProMotion/refresh rate versus price and storage. My iPad is very much a secondary device, so I just don't need those extra features. It's actually replacing a much-loved Lenovo Yoga 900 which was my daily driver laptop during grad school, but gradually became relegated to a casual web browsing and youtube/twitch in bed device as I got an employer-provided laptop for work and upgraded my gaming desktop. Now that work travel is picking back up again, I needed a light device with good battery life which I could bring along with my work laptop for personal use. The new Air really fits that niche perfectly--for light web browsing, social media, video streaming, etc, it's more than sufficient and I rarely notice the lower refresh rate. I might feel differently if I were in a creative profession and using my iPad as a primary work device, but I feel like the Air really does everything I need it to and will for several years.

I've stuck solidly with the Mini lineup for the more comfortable holding experience than the larger models. Even with more performance available now in the Air, the 2021 Mini still feels more worth it for the price than the Air, mainly due to iPadOS itself being limited. This leads to the following question being asked:
*What worth is it to have best-in-class processing power of you can't use it?*

    • @Xpuc

Actually what worth is it to even have last-gen processing?? Most people out there would be fine with a PC from the 90s - word processing, some videos, some email….I personally started my journey with an IPhone 6S, back then with iOS 9 it was super snappy, and did basically the same stuff my current iPhone 13 does - make phone calls, receive msgs, send emails. But the hype and race to have cutting edge stuff is real, for social status, for showing off, for short lived shot of dopamine….

The 12.9” pro was nice while I was in college and trying to use it as my soul device for note taking, word processing and productivity. However when I graduated I found the tablet to be too big to comfortably use for content consumption and walking around the house with it or using it comfortably in portrait mode on the couch. CPUs are getting more power with time, but resources demanding apps are very few, old apps even with updates run just as smooth as they did 6 years ago.. and will keep on running..

@@MarbsMusic Good try, but you're still incorrect. I will explain: Memory and Storage space are two different things, but they are measured in the same units, which is where I think your confusion is coming from. The iPad Pro's storage varies from 128 GB to 2 TB. Memory is 8 GB on the 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB models, and memory is 16 GB on the 1 TB and 2 TB models. @@greggmacdonald9644 I truly understand, my point was the price factor difference. Most people considering between an Air and a Pro aren't looking for the 16GB RAM version, they are more worried about their storage. If you watched the video he noted that both the Air 5 and the 11" Pro with less than 1TB of storage had 8GB. Thus my point was the price difference between the 2 base models, EACH with 8GB, was around ~$200. For that you got a better screen and 128GB rather than 64GB of storage (memory not RAM). I do thank you for your explanation though. I'm quite sure there are many who do not understand the difference.
For most consumers it actually is a pedantic difference because usually only professionals need or care about 16Gb of RAM on a tablet. Most just care how much storage... especially those looking to purchase an Air. Just speaking from experience, sale figures and many "reviews", I could be wrong though...

The main issue now is the gap between the 11 and 12 inch iPad pro imo. The defining feature of the 12 (miniLED) isn't on the 11, so other than performance, an iPad pro 11" bought in 2022 is going to be more or less the same as the 2018 for most users. This is particularly true given some of the limitations of iPadOS allocating resources to applications.
The software I just don't feel is there to justify the need for M1 power, there absolutely are pro pieces of software, but the restrictions of the OS mean anyone outside of strictly freelance creative roles will run into compatibility or workflow issues.
Google have made real strides to make chromeOS more competent, allowing full Linux and android apps to be run, introducing steam, the ability to easily dual boot windows or other OSs, etc. I just don't think apple can keep resting on their laurels with ipadOS while Google and Microsoft are closing the gap.

S Tier material here, very eye-opening perspective on performance for the average user! Thank you for your insights!

I wholeheartedly agree with this list, I have a 2018 iPad Pro and I have very rarely actually needed *more* performance, and I 3d sculpt on it and I can get like 10 million polygons with it still working very well, and when I need any more power I just go to my desktop.
