We've had our 700hp long-term Dodge Charger Hellcat for 6 months now, and Mike has decided it's time for a BIG change. Our muscle car now looks completely different, and Richard Hammond had a thing or two to say about it!

That color would look nice.....on my mothers living room sofa, on a car, not so much. When your driving alone, people will wonder why your not with your fabulous boyfriend.

some subtle go faster stripes in black, maybe over the top or along the rocker panel wouldnt go amiss, or a black center section on the hood.

If it’s the reflections you were worried about you could’ve also just wrapped it in a really dark matte black and it would’ve been an absolute monster
Yeah, I think I would've gone full-on matte black, like Clarkson's lorry from way back when (except I wouldn't cover the windshield, obviously.)

A clear satin wrap would've done the trick.
I like the colour, and the job they did. But, that car looked so much better in black. Personally if I wanted to change it I would have gone for a very dark navy blue, so almost black until the light hit it.
Saying that though I would happily change my mind if you wanted to throw the keys my way for a weekend 😂
The funniest bit was when Neil was brought in. You should do a series with him where he and Mike compare old and new cars of the same make/model/size/purpose.
As a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/Hemi/Mopar fan for the most part of my life, I would have loved to see the Hellcat in Crazy Plum Purple with matte black decals on the hood and the sides
One of the paramedics in my town owns that exact car! Its a scatpack, not a hellcat. But it's plum crazy purple with matte black decals and matte black accents. It's an amazing looking car.

I want mine in a purple exterior and peanut butter interior. The same as the one Doug Demuro reviewed. Specifically the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye.
That was called Tweety Pie Purple. Great look! (btw - that's the worst paint job ever to destroy a great looking car.)
My neighbor owns a Hellcat in Plum Crazy. And my Charger Hellcat is painted Tor Red
I'm with Hammond, it was wicked in black. Now in that color it now looks like another loud CZcamsr's car you see everywhere on the internet- which I suppose fits the use case for this car because here we are.. so...mission accomplished..?

The quality of the wrap looks amazing, but I would have gone with a deeper blue. Just my preference.
6:00 It's a little bit funny that the first footage where the camera man don't have to care about reflections he's fully visible in the rear view mirror.

I'm all for more colourful cars than the usual silver, black or white but I would have gone with a classic MOPAR colour and made it really noticeable especially to the rozzers.

I was worried when I saw the thumbnail but relieved that it was one color!😂
Now the color choice is bold. Honestly after finish watching the episode, I am liking it more. I don't think it matches well with a brown interior and black wheels. I have to say that I am really enjoying these recent episodes! The V10 wagon series, Hammond buying back his XJR, and this Hellcat series are great!
The multicolor thumbnail would at least have been interesting. This is just meh.
Definitely preferred the black, I suggest going with bronze for the wheels to compliment the interior against that blue.
Or maybe dark bronze as the main colour and matt black wheels

The addition of the minor aero device, at the rear, ties the look together. 👍🏽
I like the colour. I had a 2015 RS4 in Porsche Riviera Blue so I may be a little biased but the contrast with the black elements is far nicer than all black too.
It's a glacier blue as a old Fender Stratocaster (which often used the same colours as their car counterparts when custom colours were first offered). Love it!
I'd prefer it in Lake Placid Blue 😉

I have to nitpick, b2 blue(glacier/ice blue metallic) is like the original lake placid blue(not the new formulation, doesn't look right imo) you've really got to be there in person to fully appreciate it, it's a gorgeous color up close but it's a bit funky on a wrap or without the depth to give it life.
I walk past it every morning on my way to work and I thought it was repainted it does look superb in the flesh no more swirly black paint 😂

Love it, it's a beautiful form of blue especially on a muscle car just gives it that lighter than life character.
The beauty of a wrap is that it can come off again and be changed for a lot less than a paint job. I love it as a wrap, always like those bright blues, but I don't think I'd quite understand if all the time, effort, and money had gone into truly painting it that color. So if its gonna be wrapped, wrap it in something exciting and interesting because its a temporary change. I think it looks great, and it can always be black again or some other great color in six months time
Honestly, it looks better in black, about the reflections you could've wrapped it in a satin black or matte finish color, but that doesn't mean it looks bad though, the color is great but in my personal opinion I'd like a darker color for a car like a Hellcat.
Yeah, completely agree with Hamster, really liked the idea about the Jag and the Hellcat being sparring partners.
Wish it looks more blue under the sun like it did in the workshop, I've always been a fan of cars in that color
It's not a bad color but it wouldn't be my first option. It looks like a decent quality wrap so it still looks nice.
I usually like bright colors but the black looked better in my eyes, gave the car a lot more presence.
Initially when you revealed the color, I wasn't really for it. But as the video went on and you showed more angles and it being in the sunlight, it really started to fall into place for me. I really dig this color. And it looks great on this car with the black accents.

I've seen a few of them, usually using the 'arctic' or 'jungle' pattern. and the funny thing is that it stupidly kinda works with such a lump of a car

Such a wonderful wrap job. Now take it off. Wrap it in Matte Graphite like you should have the first time.
It looks like a Richard Petty Blue that was in the wash for a bit too long
Back in the day, the Glacier Blue color was used on some classic Camaros. Nowadays, if I'm not mistaken, it is one of the electric Porsche colors. Still a very much great look but I would go with B5 blue or Plum Crazy Purple. The red calipers are a bit too contrasting now.
I’ve always had a soft spot for that light blue on any car or a Dove Grey!
haven't seen the colour yet, but i reckon a matte olive green would make this thing look like the beefy tank it is. alternatively a nice amber yellow or the lilac from the thumbnail would be equally unique & funky.
Mad color for a mad car. Jeremy said it when they tested the hot hatches and he drove the Citroën DS3 Racing. If it's a pair of trainers they can be a mad color. Your wouldn't have your dress shoes that color.
Yep. Or. A hot hatch is like a T shirt, it can be all kinds of crazy colors, patterns etc. But a BMW or Mercedes saloon is like a suit. It fits better in black or grey/silver..

There is this sweet caramel glazed curd cheese bar wrapped in a blue packet called "Kārums". That Dodge in that colour with those leather seats is what it looks like to me now.
Yeah the Glacier Blue is cool and the wrap on a loaner car makes sense. Be cool if you did a follow up video on a full paint restoration just to showcase how much work, skill and art goes into painting. Only criticism is that the car needs a bit more black trim on areas to really highlight the body shape and help pop that blue just a bit more. Maybe have left the roof black and the lower skirt pieces black. I'd be curious to see what a pin striping effect around the door indent would look like. Then it would bring all the muscle car shape back. Work in progress Mike, it's just a wrap. Experiment a bit more.

I thought it was gonna be colour matched with the interior. Looks outlandish. very cool. That Pink also was interesting.
I bought a fiesta sport years ago. Paid extra for a colour almost identical to this. And to this day it still look great in the sun compared to the many many others of red n blk an white
I live in Philadelphia, There are a thousand of these driving around. Most of them are in bold colors. I like the wrap but I'd have it in black because I see these cars in every color of the rainbow everyday and Black is more subtle and meaner looking to me.
It's unique. But I would have gone with a red or just keep it black.
Originally thought it was a Harlequin VW type wrap , glacier blue was a great choice! Would have liked lilac as well.

I think a darker grey with a hint of blue painted color would have done better. And rather a glossy clear ppf then a colored wrap, because opaque wraps deteriorate more noticably

Nice color but I agree with the Hamster, it doesnt fit the car. It also clashes with the calipers and interior colors. Satin black would have solved the reflection problem and still looked sinister and understated, imo. I wrapped my black Challenger Hellcat in satin nardo grey with black dual stripes with red pinstripes on the outer edge and I loved it.
I think this is a nice looking color, and a wonderful wrap job, but yeah I liked a black a bit more. Though as someone noted in the earlier comments ont his vid; that is kind of the point of wrapping. Since you can take it off much cheaper and easier than repainting, if you wrap it, you might as well go as big and gaudy as you can.
Somehow, I like the mixed color scheme of the car in the thumbnail more than the blue. I like the blue, but the multi was so crazy I liked it

As an owner of a Plum Crazy Charger Daytona... I think it was a nice blue colour... But Plum Crazy looks fabulous on Chargers.
First thought was Plum Crazy Purple, but that’s more of a Challenger color. You guys should’ve went with Hemi Orange if you’re going loud like you are. Could’ve put some crazy cool metal flake in there too

I think the colour looks really cool on this car. I feel like it's much better in person than on video as well. Reminds me of the baby blue Ferrari I think Carfection or Petrolicious made a video of a few years ago
I kind of like the multicolor thumbnail wrap. I actually clicked on it to see if you had given it the "VW Harlequin" treatment, but in bright pastels instead of 1996 RGB(Y)
Should've went with a matte laminated vinyl to eliminate reflections entirely.

The Pink was better than Glacier Blue. That shade of blue is just terrible! That makes it look like a Ford Focus not a HellCat!

5:08 to be honest, that looks similar to B5 Blue that was available on the Charger. Dodge/Plymouth arknown for their outrageous colors going back to the 60s. To be completely honest, when you showed pink, I thought "oh, ya, OK". The old chargers (and I think the modern challengers) were available in Panther Pink.
Plum Crazy Purple, Go-Mango, Vitamin C, Sublime, Bahama Yellow, Hemi-Orange, Tor-Red, Sassy Grass, Pink Panther, Top Banana, Lemon Twist, Citron Yella,......Didn't see ANY blues in the traditional muscle car colours let alone Glacier Blue. If I'm honest I don't mind these wrap jobs but, The Hellcat looked better in it's original Gloss Black or Satan's Horn, The Devil's Armpit or whatever they call black these days.

there were a few blues back then but they were not as flashy, GM and Ford (especially shelby mustangs) had a few darker blues for example
You forgot Ice Blue, Blue Fire, and Jamaica Blue. This wrap is pretty close to Ice Blue.
@@Riley_Mundt not even close to Ice Blue. Ice Blue has more of a green tint to it, close to a aqua blue. The closes blue to this would have been the (Richard)Petty Blue/Corporate Blue C37D.
You must not look at many Dodge/Plymouth muscle cars. One of the most popular colors was the EB5 (B5) Blue called Bright Blue by Dodge and Blue Fire by Plymouth. It was especially popular on B bodies. Rarer were the B3 and B7 Blues Light and Dark Blue for Dodge, Ice Blue and Jamaican Blue for Plymouth. The B5 was so popular that it was reintroduced for the new Challenger and Charger.
Looks like a Yaris blue color and does not really match with the red calipers or brown interior.

As an American, black was the perfect color for this car. Not something sporty like a bright blue or red, these things are not sporty. They are big dogs that should have a look in their eyes like they're about to bite your arm off. They look best when they look intimidating. Any dark color does it, be it black, gray, deep greens and purples are my personal favorites. Bright colors like the one you've chosen takes away a lot of the presence.
The thing still looks badass, don't get me wrong. Just not the direction I would have gone, which seems like the sentiment of most people in the video. The shop did a fantastic job, too.

Ok, im a colourfetishist, but if i would wrap it i would go for a more movielook, like a light colour with rustfade and madmax-light look. Some old style stickers and old nascar-look.
Looks amazing regardless. I'd of preferred it in Lilac but as mentioned it doesn't exist *sad noises. But I am also a monster! Id of love to see it in the colours from the thumbnail.
