Everyone knows the Nürburgring, but Mike Fernie has found a track in West Germany that is arguably just as extreme a test of driving. As part of the farewell tour of the DriveTribe Charger Hellcat, he takes the V8 supercharged saloon across to mainland Europe to see what Bilster Berg is all about - in the snow!

Given your guys' history with cars, and well, Crash Hammond in general, I'm just a little surprised you don't have Lemon Squad as a sponsor... (yet)
I'm just Sayin'...
i would love to ride my Kawasaki ZX14R around there.
We need this track in racing games
it's in RaceRoom.
Liked this comment just for the avatar. 😎

So you ment sims. A game would be be forza or gran turismo
The weather conditions, the bends, the climbs, the drops, the power of the car. Props, you didn't bin the Hellcat, Mike!
Not in Europe, but I've always felt the track at Road America is very much like a mini Nurburgring. This track looks beautiful!
Went there this year. They repaved it and everyone is breaking lap record and breaking cars. It was great fun.
It's been fun watching you guys in the Hellcat. How about a CT5-V Blackwing replacement?
Had to look that one up, sharp looking Caddy.
@@marcusdamberger Cadillac is at the top of their game for performance vehicles, right as they're about to phase them out.
This may be one of the biggest compliments I can give but when the 3 boys are finally at the end of their car journeys together. I feel like if you found 2 other fantastic hosts and you throw a few more jokes in, I believe you have the ability to lead a new top gear/grand tour journey. Your entertaining and I do enjoy your thoughtful commentary and you absolutely have a passion for cars. I wish you luck
The excitement wears off after a while 😄
Bring in Caleb from Clarkson's Farm, he personable, smart and being able to introduce him to so many things he's never experienced, think would be great TV
@@jfk64kennedy95 But he only knows about farming, not cars. That's like saying to have Gerald as a narrator of a documentary.
@@Nicky_Nacky_Nooo I'm guessing you didn't seee the episode of Clarkson's when Caleb showed up in his Zed and they were talking cars...Caleb, young, a lot to learn, but don't think he that ignorant about Autos..and that part of the draw, Caleb learning, experiencing for 1st time, new kid, new toy
Herman the German did a wonderful job with this gem of a track
Tailor: So... how many patches you want on your jacket?
Drivetribe: yes
Funfact: Mausefalle is also the name of a pretty insane jump of one of the most dangerous ski downhill races of the season in Kitzbühel
I realize that it's a European track and an American car, but a Dodge feels right at home in a place like this. It might as well be driving the backroads of Appalachia from the look of that track.
Another top video. Hope we see more of Hammond's XJR if the Hellcat is no more.
Loving the Jimmy Dale wing on the wing baby! Just made my day seeing that !
If you want to see proper driving around this race track, I can recommend the videos from Tim Schrick, especially the one with the Dodge Challenger.
Exactly 👍
Yep. Link for the lazy: czcams.com/video/2GDCDonvEwc/video.html The challenger going sideways (!) through the Mausefalle ist something else. Although, to be fair, the man makes everything go sideways through there.
Hard to believe you’ve driven it 18,000 miles when most of the footage we see is it sitting still during a sponsor
Thanks for this Mike, I can’t believe you get paid to do this. Frig!
It's a nice track, but it's nothing compared to the Ring. The surface is very smooth, while the Nordschleife is quite bumpy. Also it's one thing to memorize a 4.2 km track, but memorizing a 20.8 km track is on a whole different level.
Nice to see you here 👋 I agree the ring is still the king for me 👍
Bilsterberg is great track, Ive known about it for years thanks to AC.
I remember when no American car could be in a European car video without endless criticism of the dashboard materials, stitching on the seats, and seeking the narrowest alleys the car couldn't go through because American cars are wide. Nice to see one being enjoyed.
You need to go to Australia and try Bathurst now thats one you won't forget in a hurry. Great show.
Everyone is talking about the track… what about that miniature spoiler on the hellcat.. 😂
Oh joy! I’m glad knowing that hideous wrap has undoubtedly been removed
Now for the real test.....Will the car company take the wrap off, or leave it on.? 😂😂
It will be dewrapped 100%👍
Looks more interesting than most of Tilke's other tracks, where are all he did was cover a large area with tarmac and paint lines on it.
BTW I love the ridetrough the full track, please keep doing this in future videos
Product placement overload! Wow! If sponsorship was sugar, I would now be a diabetic
And how much did you pay to watch this again?
@@dammyo6010 lol…. Be a happy servant
What worse the "Mousetrap" or the "Corkscrew" at Laguna Seca?
Nice jacket! Will miss seeing the hellcat on here
The problem with The Ring is that public runs are the majority of the experiences and its a high speed fanboy thing mostly with varied levels of skill in the traffic around you..........
Bilster Berg seems way more technical and MUCH more modern for a wider range of car (And Bike) Types plus Pit facilities :-)
I like it!
So wise , Thank You . A truly Amazing car , a truly amazing track . The memories live on
Pretty sure the corner called Forrest's elbow at the Bathurst race circuit was the steepest corner in the world before they filled it in and flattened it.
Just driving around that corner at normal speeds (60klm), the corner dropped off so much, your left front wheel almost leaves the road it was so steep.
Before the restructure of the corner. Race cars would go around there on their right side tyres only.
PS: Look up how Forrest's elbow got it's name. Interesting and a bit gory.
What a beautiful track
I am at Bilster Berg next Friday with GP Days, it is going to be epic!
The pet playground is a nice touch.
Drivetribe to the best adverts on CZcams
Can we talk about how bad of an idea it is that Mike starts shaking a can of coke at 1:35 xD
The track is 30 min from my home and I've done it with my Fireblade. It's a bit tight and there's little time to relax...
I used to go to the Ring quite often but with the time going on, the traffic has gotten so bad at the Nordschleife it`s not enjoyable anymore for me. So this is now my favorite track. I just hope the "ridiculous" people from the Schleife are not migrating to this place now though because they were the 2nd reason I left that track.
This is great and all, but I need a project Jaaaaaaaag update.
Avant- estate would be great on that wet track. I would drive a Yugo if I had to just to be on the track.
Cool! Wait THE HELLCAT IS GOING!?
It's a long-term loan, it was always going to go.
Given your guys' history with cars, and well, Crash Hammond in general, I'm just a little surprised you don't have Lemon Squad as a sponsor... (yet)
I'm just Sayin'...
Very funny how you distinguish between being "in Europe" and "in the UK". Last I heard it's still Europe, just not the EU ;)
Is this the only decent Tilke track? The topography probably the only thing that stopped him from ruining it.
Love your work 👍
The fact that Herman Tilke can design a track like this makes you wonder why his F1 tracks feel all samey.
Because he has to design with the limits give by the property.
Mike, you need to try and get your hands on the Bovington Test Track in Dorset. Another track which is completely different to anything else. Not too far from Bath either
Beautiful!
Hold my beer, i'm going on that track with my electric wheelchair♿😂🤣
So you're Richard Hammond?
If you ever get the chance to race at Laguna Seca do it. One of the coolest tracks on planet earth. Prolly a legit top 5 circuit.
Mike, that’s a piff jacket👌
"I've been Mike" - who will you be tomorrow?
Bilster Berg is a regular destination in the sim Race Room.
I can hear James May ranting even now
This engine that comes out a factory is just unbelievable? Where else would it come from ? Asda ?
"Why does Richard Hammond pay me to do this"
Because he hasn't got my phone number kid
You need 2 mates to travel the world in cars and maybe do some shenanigans. Call me
Bilster Berg was designed by Herman Tilke with help from Walter Röhrl. That's a circuit with pedigree.
If you go to cayman Brac there is a corner going up onto the bluff where it turn nearly 90°
One observation dude, never EVER race with your doors locked
So James is going to hate it then. 😅
Wow, what a track this is.
Bilster Berg Circuit
Google for "Tim Schrick Bilsterberg" for some serious driving.
❤❤❤ PRODUCTION TEAM ❤❤❤.... HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE ✌️
Mr slow you look a like berner >D
Sad the Hellcat videos are now over 😢
9:21 ... Welcome to America
Its not snow if it doesnt stay on the ground, thats sleet!
I recommend the Gotland Ring
1:37 *Chorizo pasta*
You brits, STOP ruining our cuisine!
Just when I got used to the blue colour, the Hellcat is going 😜
If ya looking for another V8 what about an Aussie SS Holden Ute for a bit of fun.
I'm living just few kilometers away but I never heard of it 😅
Now see if you can get your hands on a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk 🤣
what is more relevant, is that Richard Hammond, in top gear, season 17, episode one, smashed an alfa romeo with the marauder.
there’s no coming back from that fact…
My dream car man ima start saving up now hopefully next year I’ll have one
Mybe you should have invited a Racing driver for this test.
I wonder if they need to return it in the original state (without the wrap) or if Dodge will take it back as it is, and if they will either leave it or put it back to black.
I would also love to see a Caterham 620r go around that track, I think it would be insane.
Itll be dewrapped before going back unless they work out a deal with dodge to send it back wrapped. Either way it'll get dewrapped
@@Liam....... Sounds about right. I think it's got a bigger market to move on being black over that pale blue.
GONNA MISS THE HELLCAT
Was this commentary about the track? The title said it was about the the car!!
If you're coming from the UK by Eurotunnel, why does the car have a Munich registration?
I just googled this track and it turns out that it just a 50 min drive from where I live. Result.
How does that mousetrap compare to the famous corkscrew at Laguna Seca?
This would be the perfect test track for Yuki when you have finished it...
Top notch
Yall be changing cars more often than socks😂🥲
does the hellcat understeer on corner entry? being that it's 2 tonnes.
Imagine if this track was fia grade 1 😮
M4 GTS or CS next please!
Never seen a hellcat with that kind of a baby blue color
REEEED A BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHOOK
Both the Dipper at Mt Panorama, and the Drop at Laguna Seca look as big a drop, if not more. Might be a bit harder to drive the Hellcat to either though....
That colour of the Hellcat has grown on me. It looks mint 👌. And that track 🤤
This track deserves Clarkson testing Triumph's Rocket 3 - 'What could POSSIBLY . . .' : )
Why can't ANY NEW TRACK NOT BE A TILKEDROME?!
Glad to see it gone.😅
“Read a boewk”
I had no idea you could only rent cars from Germany. What does this mean for all the Merc, Beamer and VDub owners in the UK?
Mousetrap reminds me of the Corkscrew.
Please while you are in Germany go to Nurburgring and collabs with Misha
Asking if a Hellcat can take a corner is like asking Jeremy if he likes the Toyota Prius😂
as I remember, it was some Suzuki K-car
