I worked as an armourer for a time. The rule was simple. No live rounds on set EVER.
And any time we needed a shot directly towards camera - it was done with a mirror.
thats what I said on the last video about this case, gun-focused youtubers have been doing this for ages, if you ever need a down-the-barrel shot you use a friggin a mirror so there is zero risk of shooting the camera or the person behind it. Its pretty ridiculous they didnt understand this on an actual movie set.
@@SpydersByteIt’s probably because she only got the job and is only an armorer because of who her father is. She probably didn’t even know or care to use a mirror for that shot, just like she didn’t care to keep live rounds separate from dummy rounds, and how she didn’t care to check each individual round.
How about cocaine?
@@Salty-cracker68 wtf are you talking about?
@@SpydersByteI agree, but that can also put some blame on the woman that was killed. The Alec trial should be more about the "don't point a gun at someone".

People who have been caught with weed have been imprisoned for longer.
She was grossly negligent and it cost someone’s life.
Weed is dangerous. It lowers the value of william hearst' timber holdings.
I was shocked when Hannah's lawyer asked the judge not to give her a felony because that would prevent her from working with firearms again. I was like, WTF!
If this happened to me I would gladly give up working with firearms. I would be traumatised.
The lawyer probably did that because their client wanted it. Probably not asking because they feel it is a realistic expectation.
Not working with firearms again should probably be part of her sentence
@@user-ui2hw5os3dYes, because you are a decent person but that girl is just thinking about herself.
New Mexico is a relatively relaxed state as far as its prisons. Hannah will probably have to put up with some catcalls and harassment from the guards but from what I have heard she will not be physically violated any further than standard, legal searches of her person. This isn't Michigan we are discussing where women are routinely assaulted in the worst possibly way by the guards at the state's women's prison (thankfully she isn't doing time here). I think Hannah will be fine and if she behaves herself be out after serving 85% of her sentence (about 465 days). This was reckless carelessness, I don't believe that Hannah intended for Halyna to die that day and although she needed to go to prison this isn't a case where she needs to go for life or many decades. I am torn about Alec Baldwin, he was handed a gun he was told was "cold" meaning no live rounds were in the revolver. I tend to say unless this is proven wrong that he should not be found guilty and not sent to prison. If I were in Alec's position I would probably demand that a firearm be handed to me unloaded, the blanks handed to me for me to load and I would make damn sure I know what the difference in appearance between blanks and live rounds actually is (and yes, there is a difference). If the blanks pass my inspection I would then load the firearm myself. If I find a live round was handed to me, I would make the armorer pay dearly. I know that Alec isn't likely to be familiar with firearms but the difference between live rounds and blanks is quite easy to see, he could have informed himself with a simple Google search and 30 seconds of his time.
Judge absolutely shredded her 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
She looks so familiar; does anyone know of any well known cases she may have presided over?
I still don’t understand why there was live ammunition on set
Right?!! That's been my question all along.
She tried to blame it on the guy she got ammo from and tried to sue him but the investigators said there was no proof of that and he wasn’t a suspect.
In a way, it doesn't matter - if she had checked every round she would have caught it.
Bingo baby that’s the only question
Excellent point that goes back to the shady guy who put his dummies and ammo in a shed and didn't have a proper tracking system. Also don't forget the prop master who threw away evidence moments after the shooting.
The judge was like: STAND! TAKE HER! I’ve been practicing a lot in New Jersey for the past 20 years and my God. This judge rang her out with a few words as possible but did maximum damage.
I’m so tired of her being treated like a child. At 24 I’d graduated from college and was living in the worlds smallest apartment in Boston while I worked a full time job and a second job. I was not a child at 24.

As a healthcare worker, I pay attention to the cases where nurses end up incarcerated for accidentally killing a patient. Everyone of them is remorseful. Hannah is indeed a monster.
YES! Those are the cases this charge is meant for. In those cases (and the nurses who feel like their own life is destroyed because a patient died in their care), 18 months in prison would be a really long sentence.
If I ever killed someone, I would probably need intensive grief counseling for the rest of my life. A girl on a bike darted out less than two feet in front of my car a couple years ago, and I had to pull over and settle down for a good 10-15 minutes because of what I could have done. I still drive with my foot on the brake, and constantly check to make sure it works.
The fact that Halyna died and this girl is worried about jail time affecting a modeling career boggles my mind.
An armorer should observe higher safety standards than the average gun owner. Didn't even do that. SO many reckless actions but her arrogance since the death is mindboggling. Explains why it happened really. Her bad attitude.
(btw. I would describe Bruce Rivers as an "above average" gun owner. He has gone out of his way to educate himself and has a sophisticated understanding of his weapons and how to use/keep them safely)
That she believes that she is a scapegoat when she was the armorer is stunningly dumb. If she couldn't could properly secure her armory, she had a moral obligation to quit. If she could properly secure and distribute the arms under her charge and didn't, she is substantially responsible. The fact that others share some level of responsibility does not even begin to get her off of the hook.
It’s been a while since I saw someone so self-centred and entitled.
@@PrometheanRising What training has she had, if any?
@davidandrew1078 If the answer is none or not enough that itself is a failing on her part. It may be the case that it is never ok to bluff your way into a job, it is certainly the case that it is never ok to bluff your way into a job titled 'armorer' and it doesn't require specialized training to understand why.

The max in that state. NC or Florida it could be up to 20 years. Makes no sense.
You say that like she came on set guns blazing and started shooting people. That's not the case. She was unqualified for the job and a tragedy occurred due to her incompetence.
@@bajorekjon based on reports of her behavior on set and her diagust for Baldwin and how she felt he, as producer was approaching on set safety, you will never convince me she didn't set him up. She did not think far enough ahead to think someone would be killed. She had argued with him just hours beforehand about gun safety. Magically a.few hours later she "accidentally" loads live rounds.
Wasn’t deliberate so that’s taken into account.
The charge here is equivalent to something like a manager in a warehouse ignoring OSHA forklift safety and maintenance, and then letting someone not licensed drive the forklift. This isn't murder. Murder requires intent.
This is "You were so reckless and negligent that a totally preventable accident happened". There was no intent here... but this accident is her fault and she absolutely should serve every single day of this 18 months and carry the label of "convicted felon" forever.

A little detail that didn't see much air time on the news, she left a 12 year old unattended with a loaded weapon several times on past sets.
As someone who handled firearms as a 12 year old, my major problem with that story is that it was on a set.
so then, how responsible is it of Baldwin to hire her in the first place? IMO, he should be joining her in prison due to his negligence as the producer, as well as his negligence when handling the weapon, in spite of the fact he will rely on the fact he thought he was handed a safe gun.
Thank God the 12 year old was there to make sure it was safe for that small period of time

She only got 18 months. That’s the maximum in that state. She’s already been in custody for a month so all she has is 17 months left. This time she’ll be in prison rather than jail. She said she enjoyed jail, it was like summer camp.
See how she feels after a year in prison.
Idk about enjoying it or anything but at county, at least here, it is like summer camp. Got people exercising, gambling, reading, listening to music, watching TV, playing cards or playing dominoes all day long. Only difference between camp and jail is you can’t leave jail and there isn’t a lake to swim in.
Actually she only has to do 85% of the sentence.
Prison time is generally a lot easier than jail time. There is more freedom, more activities, more food, ect. Jail is really designed as a short term holding place. Prison is designed for the long haul. Not to mention that the future of everyone in jail is in question. Everyone in prison has been sentenced and is just doing their time. Really impacts the environment. I think the only time jail would be better than prison (in general) is if you get sent to a maximum security prison where your on 23 hour lockdown every day.

It is amazing how badly she managed to fuck this up. How difficult is it really to show remorse over accidently killing someone? I can understand how a murderer might think they had good reason for doing what they did. Especially when they mentioned the kid who lost their mother! I would be absolutely devastated if I caused a child to lose their parent more so than any other situation. @@Soniti1324I agree that the worst part is never being able to legally touch/own a gun again, and she’s being sued into oblivion too. Her only future is a min wage job or only fans. And most of the country h@tes her. Which she cares enough about to mention in her whiney statement to the court.
@@Soniti1324 Not as much of a joke Baldwin's slap on the wrist will be.
The fact the Prosecution lied on the stand seems to be lost on everyone.
Watching CLR is part of my night routine. When they didn’t upload, it felt like something was missing.

@@suskeller haha glad I’m not the only one!
Yea I agree for real tho
Bruce Rivers is such a nice guy. Like everyone else, I came for legal commentary but stayed for Bruce!
Same here!
"Hey dad, want to cover the Rust case? We'll make you look all badass down the range" 🤣
plus we can write off the cost as a business expense!
The judges Botox is driving me crazy.
You have the BEST commentary on CZcams!
Imagine all of the old western movies we watch with all of the "gun fights". I, as yet, haven't heard of a single fatal gunshot wound.
It sounds like they used the totally unqualified young lady as Amouror for the movie, as they couldn't get her father, a qualified Armouror to assist as he had another job he was contracted to & his daughter was cheaper to hire.
I almost didn't recognise her in court without the coloured hair & piercings.
As the Judge rightly said, " You check, Check & check again".
She gets only 18 months imprisonment whilst Helena's family has to suffer a life time.
Not a western, but while filming "the Crow" the main actor got shot dead in a similar manner (duds that were tweaked to safe money/time, and some more screw-ups from the gun crew). This happened near the end of filming, so with some editing the movie was still finished.
Maybe one of the “ladies” she will be staying with ,won’t like her😏🤨😉
Lee was killed by the debris lodged in the barrel and pushed out by a blank being fired.
A friend of mine owns the pistols that the Lone Ranger used in the TV series. They cannot fire proper rounds and use a veritable cap, on a slightly bigger scale that the old cap guns toys. That is normally the type of piston used in film screenings because people can be stupid.
@@MercmadInteresting.
She doesn't seem to have much empathy for others. i hope she learns that some day soon. Thank you Bruce and Michael!!
Good catch. She’s DEF a narcissist and I don’t say that lightly. She lacks empathy, she was whining about her career MINUTES after Helena and Joel were sh0t, she plays the victim, she won’t take ANY responsibility, and she has the emotional maturity of a 5 year old. Then you hear how she interacts with her mom on the phone and it’s easy to see where she got it from, plus her dad sweeping her reckless behavior under the rug. Her parents are in the club too. Very common in Hollywood! Baldwin too.
Much? SHE HAS NONE! NO REMORSE. Just a self-absorbed ditz.
I really like that judge. She seemed like the perfect person to handle this case, her statement at sentencing was very well said.
I love how proud you are of your son and for good reason. You guys have a great channel!
Michael knows exactly how charming and excellent his dad is on camera. We see you Michael. Well done sir.
Imho, after reviewing her jailhouse tapes, she deserved at least 5-10 years, someone died…
I think the judge is limited by the sentencing guidelines for the offense she was convicted of: "involuntary manslaughter".
I’m all but certain that James Crumbley is serving 15 instead of 5-10 because of his jail calls! And Jennifer because she “wouldn’t change a thing if she could turn back time”. Judges do NOT like defendants who act like victims or have ZERO remorse for what they did.
@@kateashby3066 she was pleading not guilty why would she admit guilt you dont know how court works clearly how about you try that in court and see if that works for you

She was so dumb to say those things on jail call.
Right.
If those calls don’t prove she has narcissstic personality disorder, then nothing does. She and Baldwin would make a great team if it weren’t for the fact that narcs wil always throw each other under the bus if it means saving their self 😂
If she would have just seen some classic detective movies. They would have told her "keep your yapper shut".
@@DrMarianus yup
@@kateashby3066 where can we listen to the jail calls ?
Great thorough coverage of the Firearm Bruce!! I am a certified Range Safety Officer !! This young woman had Zero Business being Armorer !! Baldwin is negligent by hiring her as well as he pulled the trigger pointing a high caliber pistol !! Baldwin as well is responsible in not triple checking the dummy rounds. Trigger had been cocked in order for firing pen to release and strike the primer to combust the bullet. So many Safety Violations were made in order for this death to happen.
I read that there were other incidents involving guns on the set. She should have been fired then.
@psychokitty7268 There were 2 previous accidental discharges on that set. Dave Halls was fired from his previous job due to ONE accidental discharge. How he and Hannah kept their jobs is beyond comprehension. Alec Baldwin is next. 18 months in NM State prison.
@@time4me2fly94 Alec Baldwin is definitely negligent in not dismissing them and has ultimate culpability. I hope he goes to prison.
Who certified her , which government agency?
Yea, some things just can’t be unseen. Smart to make sure you’re at least coming through ahead. Sweet Grandma
I absolutely love what you do. Thanks for helping to inspire a random guy to go to law school. Big thanks to you and law talk with mike
Even if she feels she not responsible, she could at show some sadness that someone died. If I was inadvertently responsible for a death the guilt would eat me alive.
At least pretend for the calls and in court.
Alec is def next… Hannah’s inability to accept any responsibility was disgusting.
He’s already skirted any kind of accountability. Let’s see how he is in court.
And yet, Alec hired her, worked with her, spent time with her, talked with her. He didn't teach her. He didn't replace her. He didn't double check her. Alec was in charge of the whole production. He set the tone. Alec has Decades of Experience and Fire Arms Training at the highest levels. It was 100% His Responsibility.
@@climber950he's been running his mouth publicly which is not going to help him
I don't see how he is liable unless he hired her and didn't check her credentials.
But I don't see why you would ever have live ammo for a movie!
Especially when CGI can enhance anything.
He is high profile with probably better lawyers.
Technically, she had two jobs. When she arrived on set, they asked her to double as a prop assistant. That's like asking a lifeguard to double as the beach chair guy. She should have said no, but she's young and trying to get ahead, and saying no is frowned upon in the movie business. Hence the several failures, of which she was a part.
I love a lawyer who also knows his way around a gun range...!
Her lack of personal insight is astounding.

WTF was live ammo at the movie site anyway?
They offered her a plea deal ON THE CONDITION that she said where the live rounds came from. She refused to do so.
@@perryrush6563do we know why? I couldn’t watch all the case in court. No time.
@@kangaroogirl88do we know why she isn’t snitching someone out? No she’s not going to tell us that. But logic dictates it belonged to her dad. Or herself.
She asked for permission to use the set guns for target shooting on the weekends and was denied. Then she said, "Ok I'll use mine then". Stands to reason if she intended to target shoot she brought some live rounds to her hotel room. She kept dummies in her fanny pack so may have mixed in some live rounds. Also live rounds were used by her dad in a previous miniseries and she had some dummies from that production which may have had some live rounds mixed in. But I think that's unlikely. I think she knows darned well where the live rounds came from, her fanny pack, intended for target shooting.
@@clayton56tube RULE NUMBER ONE. Never have live and blank ammunition together ever. Major Military Exercises have been suspended if a live round has been found with blank ammunition.
