    You forgot to mention that the clerk (or bailiff) went to the hospital with more serious injuries. You could hear the other guy say “his skin is hanging” or something similar. What a horrible man for going after the judge; he made his own choices when committing felonies, but doesn’t want to be held accountable. 😒 I hope the guy’s prison time is lengthy.

      This was a temper tantrum from a violent mouth breather. He has a well documented history of responding with violence when he doesn't get what he wants.

    • @blackdandelion5549
      @blackdandelion5549 Před 4 měsíci +11

      Yes, he received many stitches. The man has a significant amount more charges now including attempted murder? for screaming something like "I'll kill you" when he attacked the judge and bashed her head into the wall and pulled her hair out. The clerk had some injuries and was seen to medicially, but released. The deputy/marshal? needed stitches for his wounds.
      My concern with this particular defendant receiving time is that he was found unable to stand trial at one point due to mental defect as he is said to have schizophrenia and bipolar. That is not someone who will do well in prison and prisons are known to not give prescribed medications, even required ones. He would do much better in a mental health facility long term where he can be managed and is away from the public, but will be medicated and other prisoners won't mess with a mentally ill man. He would have limited access to anything that could be dangerous to himself or others.

    According to the news articles, the stuff that wasn't on-camera was somewhat relevant to your analysis. Notably, the deputies/marshals were apparently approaching him while the camera was focused on the judge -- he broke past them as they approached to take them into custody, apparently hurting a marshal pretty badly in the process: a gash on the forehead that required multiple stitches and a dislocated arm, from what I can recall.
    Also, the guy in the blue jacket by the judge was apparently the court clerk.

    • @Caelinus
      @Caelinus Před 4 měsíci +1

      This actually makes me curious about a criminal lawyers duty ethical duty in this scenario. Obviously you have to represent your client to the best of your ability in the court, but if you had an opportunity to physically restrain them from attacking someone, what would doing so do to the client-lawyer relationship?
      In one sense preventing them from committing a crime in front of dozens of witnesses, on camera, against a protected person performing their mandated duty, would be the best possible thing you could do for them in that moment. But I feel like, even if you and the client were both uninjured, there has to be some kind of rule about getting into a physical altercation with your client. My assumption is that stopping them would be fine, but then you would be forced to request to drop them as a client because you are now a potential witness against them, regardless of whether you stopped them or witnessed them assault someone. But I do not think this falls under crime-fraud because it is not communication done in the furtherance of anything criminal.
      There has to be something in the Model Rules that would cover this. Would it just be necessary to withdraw because you cannot intentionally lie to the court, and as a witness you could not adequately do the job as their attorney?

And the press conference they held for this was kinda nuts. Chief judge said it wasn’t preventable when it 100% was!!! Not enough cops there, the one that was there wasn’t close by. Then, the reporters asking questions like “was it inappropriate for the judge to make a comment like she did before she was attacked.” Or “how do people feel” about this and that!? Like what!? Who cares about anyone else’s feelings!! The judge was attacked and what she said was totally fine!
    To add to my comment, someone said after this attack that his mom said she thought maybe he was off his meds or something was “off” with her son (the defendant). But didn’t say anything to anyone. Also during the press conference about this the same judge is still going to sentence him on the case and he got several charges added and the judge was back to work the next day. Was treated for minor issues.

      It really shows how liberal ideology has really handicapped a large group of people in American society. When someone watches this and immediately responds that the judges comment (absolutely appropriate) and facial expression (absolutely appropriate) were “triggering” to the criminal, which in some way justifies his insane behavior, it shows how broken we’ve become. The appropriate response is that he is unhinged and his reaction is criminal, not to justify his reaction due to his feelers getting hurt. We need to start forcing people to take full accountability for their actions, rather than mitigating their accountability due to outside issues that have nothing to do with why those people make poor choices. Adults are responsible for their own actions 99.9% of the time, and they are also responsible for themselves leading up to any actions they take. Parents need to hold their children accountable so that they don’t get to his age without understanding that actions have consequences.

    I was so looking forward to you covering this story of the flying defendant. Lol. Your sense of humor always makes me chuckle. When he stood there so sweet talking about how he always tried to do the right thing....and the minute she says No. he goes completely into his violent mode. If anyone needs to be in prison it's this guy. Can you imagine how he behaved with his past girlfriends

      @@yngstunna101 that ain't mental health issues... that's a spoiled criminal.. this man wasn't taught respect and consequences!!! Maybe if some parents would actually parent and stop having kids for grandparents to raise folks would be different! I work in a school and the amount of kids that are in the custody of grandparents is astonishing!!! Just imagine 70 and 80 year olds raising teenagers.. not a good look at all! I'll bet this dude was raised by that grandmother he almost killed... he's a friggen coward for attacking women!!! I hope he gets his ass handed to him in jail!

      He showed he was able to control his conduct if he got his way. What we are seeing is a taste of how he dealt with ANYONE that got in his way. He has probably been treating private citizens like this for decades if they get in his way. I hope he is locked away for a very long time
