I'm actually thinking about adding a bandit 1200 to my garage. I want something analog, comfortable and a bit rowdy. But I was also thinking of replacing a few bikes with a new mt09 mt10 or cb1000r naked.
Buy the new MT-09 Ian, for the money you wont be sorry, trust me DW
I heard somewhere that Large intake opening(s) narrowing down, thus speeding the air up.
You'd lose some of the ram effect by shortening the intake runner length...
That can vary a ton, motor to motor and bike to bike , also air box design. The intake tubes shoved so far down in the air box is a sound deadener to stay legal.

I've got the same bike..I've already cut the extra cone..could you show anyhow any significant gaining after the two holes on the sides?
Nope I did it all at once based what I've learned the the past Robert.
I'm doing the dna filter but won't cut the box as dyno vids have shown no significant gains besides a louder sound while on the bike but enjoy any and all vids
Everything must be perfect top repeat on the dyno. I will say its most likely a 1,5 to 2 HP gain but I cant prove that either. Almost any pipe you put on the bike will be loud under throttle load or wide open, so you will never hear the air box mods, which are also very minor in this case. Cheers DW
Why u keep the battery plugged? I cut the power on mine. Waiting for the ecu to return
