I'm very surprised that you like the vocals. That's usually people's number one gripe when it comes to early Darkest Hour material. I happen to like them. They sound very raw and they drive home the lyrics. John Henry (the vocalist) doesn't quite sound like this anymore, but I highly recommend checking out the band. Their material is superb. They borrow mostly from Swedish melodeath, but they also have this pissed off attitude to their music that reminds me of a hardcore punk band.
If you'd like other recommendations for what to listen to by them try: Sound the Surrender (from the album this song is on), Stand and Receive Your Judgement, No God, Those Who Survived or This is the Truth.
That's a small sample size. This band has LOTS of brilliant stuff. They don't have a bad album, honestly. The Human Romance is a little watered-down, but I wouldn't call it bad by any means. Have fun discovering this band, man.
