I didn't know about this bit about palpatine arrest. This makes Mace Windu wanting to assassinate him makes more sense : he was thinking that a trial would result in Palpatine getting away. And it makes the cunning Palpatine saying it a way for him to push Windu to try to kill him, which is the final push for Anakin to distrusting the jedi and the dark side
Jedi Shadows sounds like a great idea for a future star wars game
Assassin's Creed: Jedi Shadows 😂
@@maxwellsikota7257That’s even better. 😅
Jedi shadow is actually a sub class for the Jedi councilor in the game SWTOR which has been canonized last I heard.
@SquallLeonhartkun actually they originated is a few of the books, SWTOR brought them into the spotlight.
The Night sisters are #TDBank card holders...
I can't see anywhere in cannon that the Jedi had a desire to killing much less purging the night sisters. Night Sisters kept their world neutral from outside politics and galactic matters. The Jedi let the Night Sisters govern themselves and generally stayed out of Dathomir’s business. That worked both ways, as denizens of the planet rarely left their strange world and rarely allowed anyone to visit. Again I see nothing in cannon that said the Jedi wanted to purge the Night Sisters.
Yeah, the Sith were politically aggressive. The Nightsisters kept to themselves, for the most part.
Precisely. This guy is ridiculous, making stuff up as he goes along. He even trips up and nearly contradicts himself in these videos within such a short span of time, it makes you wonder if he even bothers covering his tracks.
Further purging or genocide against any group would be a dark side thing.
@@DanT10it’s not like the Jedi have never done anything dark side related… oh yeah they have
@@ImperialSatisfaction We would not have the Skywalker Saga if they did not now would we.
But why are the Great Mothers on Peridea, in an entirely different galaxy, so intensely hostile towards the Jedi? If their vision of the Thread of Fate is so clear, they would have to know that the Jedi had no involvement in the massacre of the Nightsisters of Dathomir. That was the Sith. Yet their reaction to Sabine, who is barely even Force sensitive, was so strong that they wanted her imprisoned immediately and without further discussion. They were visibly unhappy to learn that Baylan had been a Jedi General, and clearly only held back because of Thrawn. Did the Jedi travel to Peridea in the past and take action against the Nightsisters there? It's in another galaxy, so Republic law has no standing.
Maybe the ancient jedi werent as kind
That whole show is a mess dude.
My guess is the Peridea Sisters have been on Peridea for long enough to know what is there. It was most likely what drew them to Peridea like it draws Baylan. It could be they aren't really anti Jedi, but anti-force user being there and may have had the same reaction if a real Sith showed up.
@@nickcody7257
Probably yeah, much more likely to be the case. Sith surely aren't as widespread as the Jedi so, less likely they met them as opposed to various Jedi, and those associated with the Jedi
@@nickcody7257 - Possible. But they paid little attention to Baylan and Shin, who were wearing lightsabers and who should have been obvious Force sensitive. But instead they didn't seem to care about them until Thrawn recognized Baylan as a Jedi General. Shin, for her part, seems to really dislike witches and so I'm sure her thoughts towards the Great Mothers were not friendly.
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS
IT’S UNFAIR
I’d love to be a Jedi Shadow
Im hoping that we will see Merrin found a new coven of neutral/good Nightsisters
Yesss
There were good Witches of Dathomir in the old Legends EU.
They already were neutral
@@TheSlyzombie neutrally drawing on the dark side
@@justahologram2230 Dark side doesn't mean evil
I could see merin becoming good because thrawn has left her out of his plans because whenever your one step ahead hes 8steps above.
Fantastic content to bring up!
Disney acquiring Star Wars makes the history of the SW Universe so difficult to work through, as Disney doesn't recognize so much of the Legend material. The publication, "Star Wars: The New Essential Chronology" by Wallace and Anderson in 2005 may be one really good reference here. As it does go back through the history of Star Wars Saga from pre-Republic to the end of Yuuzhan Vong era.
It's likely everything in this reference is largely assumed to be canon up to the end of Episode VI Return of the Jedi, when it comes to the "formation of the republic".
This specific content is a good leader before referencing back to a time just before the formation of the 'modern' republic. Going back to the Jedi Army of the Light, the wars then, Ruusan Reformation, etc. Leading into why Jedi are on a leash. It also gives some insight into how the Jedi are viewed across the galaxy, and why so many systems do not trust Jedi (well, force users in general). Which can also bring light into how many were just waiting for someone like Count Dooku to come along, and how his previous association with the Jedi provided him with instant credibility (to grow his lies) in speaking out against the republic's process.
The Jedi, at least never in the Canon (though neither in Legends) have ever pursued the destruction of the Dathomiri. They've worked with them before, and see them as a neutral affiliation.
That, and the Nightsisters don't use the Dark Side, which is a Corruption of the force. Its a different practice of the Force, but they're using the darker aspects of it, not the Dark Side itself.
Especially, when you consider how they're not nearly anything like the Sith in practice or actions. They worshipped the Son, who also wasn't a Dark Side being, just the more aggressive parts of life, meaning he too was balanced.
(Well, at least for most of his life, he fell to the Dark Side in the end, and sorta had a redeeming/repentant conclusion but, that's a different situation overall)
Going out and destroying an entire race of people does not sound like something the Jedi would do
The Jedi could have mustered a large enough group. They just had to register it as a group retreat with team building exercises. 😊
Wow. I can kinda understand it, though. During my Army career, there were a bunch of times in which "we needed to do (insert mission here), but could not do the mission because of politics (usually) or maybe while trying to avoid collateral damage.
I think that part of the issue is that the effort needed to actually go after the nightsisters before the Clone Wars was such that it would have been impossible to do secretly, and all it would take to do some serious damage to the order would be for someone to start bringing up the genocide of the Sith that the Jedi were part of and seemingly urged the Republic to do...and you'd have several politicians with a grudge of any kind would be screaming about it.
It would also be a situation where instead of one neutral albeit mercenary group of darksiders to who knows how many forming with a grudge against the Jedi with the survivors wanting to do so...
Ontop of that, the Jedi didn't have the authority to target Dathomir there as it was not a Republic world, and Dathomir did have it's allies.
What do the Jedi do when their assassins run into an opposing force that is also quite capable there...or the aftermath of something like selling Jedi invaders to the hutts for interrogation with their actions being spread publicly. The Jedi have a LOT to lose there and little to gain.
In the New Republic era, there were many Sith cults across the galaxy, like the Acolytes of the Beyond and those on Mustafar killed by Pull Ren.
Honestly, the night sisters have never come acrossed as a group worth slaughtering whole sale. Even though the wield dark side powers, the explicitly teach self control- hence the reason the don't run wild like the sith.
No way bro was arguing for genocide
In my personal life I have a very dear friend that I grew up with who ended up as a member of the Navy SEALs (Team 2 & then 6 - Gold) ... With that, I can't help but see various similarities between that real life (once secret with 6) squad of elite & the Jedi organization in Star Wars. .... Makes it all even more intriguing.
Thanks much for this & all the various lore based uploads. .... GREAT stuff.
...
Also, with the Night Sister's - I don't believe the Jedi should have wiped out ANY world or species, just specific threats when they were indeed true threats. ... It's nothing but criminals with licenses to kill without that type of mindset.
Thanks again - 🤘
May the Nightsisters rise again. I love them.
I think that it was right for Jedi not purge the Nightsisters but I think some time after New Sith Wars they should tried to make peace with them and help quide them away form the dark side of their magic and lean towards the light then learn from it.
Even though I'd admit Dathomarians do not seem to Venture Beyond there Native Planets of there own Will
I've always thought that the Night-Sisters practice the Dark Side but aren't necessarily beholden to it.
Anyone remember the Shadow Counsil talking about Project Necromancer?
Most people in the Galactic Republic and elites do not know of the existence of the Sith. To them, the force is one of mystery and legends. The Night Sisters are few in number and mostly kept to themselves in the planet.
Are these Jedi guardian, sentinel, and consular things? I mean are they canon?
❤❤❤❤
The Jedi:
"Only Sith deal with Absolutes... Except when we decide otherwise" ,.oops
Noone saw Grievous and his forces wipe out most of them?
Clone war kept them alive plus Dathamier wouldnt have been the first planet scavengers finally make their way to and it's fill with plenty of laser sworded bodies
Heck Yeah!
the night sister does not technically practice only dark side abilities they ethnically to dabble both in the dark and light side... just a bit more in the dark side.
I mean they venerate both the Sister and the brother though not the father for some reason
Beliefs shouldn't be outlawed. The night sisters were never trying to dominate the galaxy like the Sith were.
The witches are not dark siders they use the dark side.
There is a difference.
This is a deeper philosophical conversation. Should the Jedi kill/remove all entities capable of committing an evil act? Where is the line? I do not believe the Jedi should have killed them for their lack of defined "goodness." If you kill someone for a perceived evil, does it make you good?
Also, the Force must be balanced. The Force works to maintain balance. If the Jedi had killed all evil, the Force would work to create balance within the Galaxy. It is a never ending cycle.
Hello there!
Question: why did the Jedi get militarized?
Answer: it makes for better video games.
Was the Jedi supposed to go to planet and start a war.
Hype!
This is dumb, the Jedi just aren’t out murdering dark siders. The fight those who fight them…
And of course they're wearing burkas in Disney continuity smh...🤦
Jedi. The "good guys" willing to send assasins and commit genocide. So many things prove why the jedi order was no bettet than the sith in many regards. At least the sith are open about their evil deeds.
I agree. Jedi couldn't do anything. Technically,Nightsisters were protected by the law. They just draw from the dark side. Jedi couldn't attack them without provoking. Nightsisters were smart and careful. Jedi cared about politics too much. Far too much. They should have destroy them. Republic Constitution was stupid. May the Force be with you too
So the law kept vigilantes in check.
Nightsisters were far less wicked than the Jedi.
I mean, genocide bad
Crazy how crazy the Jedi were 😮😅 mother talzin totally be doing dark magic, sacrificing kids, virgins, and force sensatives, and all kinfs if other stuff😆 but they flew under the radar and the jedi againn turned s blind eye or just pretend like it didn't exist
Day 263 of asking for a part 3 of what if anakin was trained by qui gon
How are the Nighteisters evil?? They cared more about the Galaxy than the Jedi. Didn't the Confederacy work with the armor makers who ate any being that landed on their world, even in emergency situation
I mean the republic wasn’t “good” Star Wars literally has no “good” or “bad” both sides are Terrible the Republic/Rebels are just the Lesser evil in the galaxy and the Jedi became so addicted to their order that they blinded themselves. Qui Gon was the last Real Jedi In my humble opinion.
It’s just mainly they’re Dark Side Force users
Pretty sure the jedi would have been against genocide. 🤷
the Jedi just aren't as good as they are supposed to be..... what the empire did openly, they do in the shadows you should probebly be more affraid of te jedi than of anyone else... now i get the Mandalorians of the old republic they saw this. but the republic en jedi wrote history as they were the victors
I'm starting to understand why Anikan thought the Jedi were evil!
Anakin is always right!
It's simple. The jedi were stupid and arrogant
So you are saying the Jedi are theocrats? No wonder why they fell.
