Something interesting in the Dawn of the Jedi series: we see two humans, a woman and a man, riding Rancors on Dathomir millenia before the Jedi even existed. They and the other force sensitives of Dathomir were taken by the Tho Yor to form the Jed'aii order.
It seems its been retconned that Allya rediscovered how to tame Rancors, and restored the tribal society of Dathomir rather then inventing it. Except this past society was more egalitarian.

While i can appreciate the old force dichotomy of light being balance and dark being chaos, i like the canon better.
Light is creation and protection, while dark is destruction and weakening. Both are needed for balance and progress.
Too much dark, and the galaxy becomes a literal hellscape.
Too much light, and the galaxy becomes stagnant, never changing, never evolving, just vegetating.
Light and dark in equal amounts, and the galaxy evolves, and so do it's inhabitants.

So, essentially, Dathomir brought the Force itself to the wider galaxy? Or at least, teaching about it?

Seems like the knight sisters had the only presence throughout the clone wars era. Even exploring the planet in fallen order, everything is night sister. So many questions....no answers....

8:50 Are you saying that The Je'daii (Force Sensitive Order on Tython that became The Jedi Order over time) are dark siders, then? Like, the order that became The Light-Side Adherent Jedi Order was on the level of The Sith, or these Nightsisters? Bantha Poo-doo! Not all Force Orders in the galaxy (Or, specific individuals) can neatly fit this view that you can ONLY be Light Side, or Dark Side, and NOT both. Examples: The Je'daii Order, Revan/Darth Revan, Darth Marr, Anakin Skywalker (Not as Darth Vader), Witches of Dathomir, Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade Skywalker, and Cade Skywalker (At times).
‱Je'daii: They lived on a world that had two moons (Ashla, and Rural Australian *COUGH COUGH* Oh sorry, Bogan COUGH COUGH), one that embodied The Light Side; the other, The Dark Side (Don't listen to The Big Meanies George Lucas, or Drew Karpheshyn, anyone down under. They don't understand you very well), so, some symbolism of the relationship of Light, Dark, and Balance was going to arise inevitably. Plus, since any imbalance in The Force (Anyone being a bit too Light, or Dark for The Force's taste) could cause Apocalyptic natural disasters on Tython if they were not careful, people NEEDED to practice both Light, and Dark, out of a need for survival. And they lived 10,000 years this way in (Relative, since there were some major conflicts that broke out, but none that got started on Tython itself, as far as I know) peace. To reference Avatar: The Last Airbender: Then, everything changed when The Rakata Attacked. This Evil, Fully Dark Side-Oriented Empire came to Tython, caused much pain, and suffering for The Je'daii, and the rest of The Tython System. Afterwards, The Je'daii were forever scarred by what happened during their fight against The Dark Side Invaders, which led to some wanting to abandon The Dark Side completely, but others did not, which started The Decade Long Force Wars (The First of countless conflicts between Light, and Dark), that The Light Side Je'daii eventually won, though all the Force-fighting left Tython uninhabitable. They became The Jedi Order, moved to Ossus, and the rest is history. Basically, if The Je'daii were Adam, and Eve; The Rakata were the snake that tempted them with their Force-Sabers (Like the fruit of The Tree of Knowledge of Good, and Evil), and brought suffering on the galaxy forevermore, as a result. They lived in relative harmony, then those snail-eyed serpents corrupted them. So, there's proof that such practices could work, and hopefully in a less urgent Out-of-a-need-for-survival sort of way, as long as there aren't Satan-like forces to screw it all up.
The other ones, I will explain in another comment, or so, since this one is LOOOOONG.
