    I’m so hyped for the Night Sister / Aboleth angle. My read is that originally the Sisters were the servants of the Mortis gods and balanced in the force. Then one of their mothers became favored of the Mortis Gods becoming ‘The Mother’ leading to the Aboleth arch. At some point there was a schism in the sisters society with the dark side coming out on top, thus the broken statue of the light side Mortis god.
    The war and rise of Aboleth destroyed the planet and turned it into a graveyard wasteland. Not having a way off world the remaining sisters went into stasis.

    7:20 Morgan’s origins were actually hinted at in the very episode she was introduced in the Mandalorian. I had to rewatch to find this out, but Ahsoka actually explained to Din Djarin that “Her [Morgan’s] people were massacred in the Clone Wars.” Now, while that may not be a dead giveaway, it most certainly is a curious hint when you consider that the attack on the Nightsisters was the biggest massacre/genocide of the Clone Wars, second only, perhaps, to Order 66. And of course, given the language of the dialogue, it would have been unusual for Ahsoka to have referred to the latter of the two genocides.

      I’m not familiar with much of legends, but is it possible that Morgan was a child on Dathomir? Perhaps she had not taken this Nightsister initiation rite because she was too young when Dathomir was wiped out.
      Merrin in the Jedi games was also a child when her people were wiped out. Not sure if her grey skin and more geometric facial markings are genetic (perhaps Morgan is only a half-breed), tied to some rite she did on herself, animation vs live action, or something else.

      While this didn’t take place all during the clone wars, the Geonosian genocide was far worse. After multiple battles during the clone wars, Geonosis was contracted to building the Death Star. In order to keep the plans a secret, I believe their population was sterilized or their queens were somehow eradicated. They fought in an intergalactic civil war for a cause they believed in. They built the largest space station ever constructed. Then they were decimated by the very person who orchestrated the last like 20 years of their existence.

    When I first saw these capsules one would assume is was basic cargo such as parts and equipment, but when I saw around the planet that it had very minimal technology I then went to the assumption of the NightSister bodies that were stored into the coffins for transport. Plus Thrawn heading to Dathomir instead of realigning with the Emperial remnants leads to the conclusion of Thrawn finalizing his agreement with the NightSisters to take them all dead and alive to Dathomir to restart the race of NightSisters and Zabraks.

      logically its the supply line thats been keeping the army going the entire they have been displaced. a good general wouldnt waste any supplies he might need in case something went wrong. its not like hes going to have a huge force or planet to go back to as the empire has fallen. He may have to live and fight on those supplies for a while. But there are better stories to be told... so its probly not something that practical.

  • @TD-ht8dz
    @TD-ht8dz Před 4 měsíci +1

    I completely agree that the cargo is Nightsisters, I've thought that ever since I watched the episodes. What I want to know is how they will do the whole thing of Thrawn allying with a force user (in legends it was a clone of Jorus C'Boath, though Timothy Zahn originally wanted it to be an evil clone of Obi-Wan Kenobi) and the whole katana fleet thing. What I think would be really cool is if they mixed George Lucas's sequels idea with the Legends sequels and had it be that the Nightsisters are going to focus their magik and maybe do some other kind of magiky thing and resurrect Darth Maul, and have him be the force user that Thrawn uses, and have this Darth Maul though be far more powerful than he was when he died, and have him actually reach more of his potential and learn to use Nightsister magik (Maul actually had a TON of potential, so much so that at his full potential he would have been up there with the likes of Vitiate and Reborn Revan and full potential Luke Skywalker, the level just below full potential Anakin Skywalker, and Maul also would have been a Sith Warlock, as he would have had very strong powers in the force and very strong powers in Nightsister Magik, this is all because Maul is the son of Mother Talzin herself, which a lot of people don't realize)
    Edit: I realize you made an entire video about Maul's potential, so obviously you know, but a lot of people who watch some of your videos might not, and I don't know who will read this comment

    I think Thrawn said "For the Empire" because he believed the foundations of the Empire, despite its twisted Sith origins, to create a powerful military force to protect the Galaxy from deadly threats. Despite this, the Grand Admiral is also heroic at times because he is helping to revive the "extinct" Nightsister race and cares for those under his service. I believe the Night Troopers are not zombies but soldiers who adapted to Peridea's environment with the help of Magick. Some Night Troopers even volunteered to stay behind to give Thrawn time to escape, with Morgan Elsbeth even being loyal to him despite his status as a Non-Force Sensitive user. The amount of loyalty Thrawn commands is outstanding.

    • @TemptationsEnd
      @TemptationsEnd Před 7 měsíci

      The night troopers weren't originally zombies, they were normal shock troopers who were resurrected after they were felled in combat. Id assume the reason that he asked for volunteers instead of just sending random clone 1 - 30 is because thrawn doesn't believe in much except like the youtuber was saying of "he only cares to protect the ones under him." While he doesn't strike me as a man of science or a man of faith, he does seem like the type to see something like that as unnatural, as he knew about the force immune creatures for a long time in the clone wars. Yet he waited until late in the war where he didn't think the empire had a so solid chance of winning to hybridize them. So I'd say that the night troopers at the end very much were zombies. Though zombies who were controlled by the night mothers, including morgan now since she was fully inducted into the night mothers. In which the last order they were given was "kill" not eat, so they would have no ability to eat Sabine or the others.

    I had a feeling that was the case given how Ezra said Thrawn “woke” the Witches in the fortress it would make sense that more than just the Great Mothers were sleeping in there. Any fan who was paying attention knew that the NightTroopers were loading caskets/remains. That’s why “catacombs” were specifically mentioned. What are typically stored in catacombs? THE DECEASED..
    Morgan Elsbeth got a raw deal. But she fought well and fought honorably. I’m waiting for Abeloth to emerge in Season 2. I sure want her to appear!!!!
    Cargo was totally the remains of the NightSister race. Whether they were deceased or in stasis we don’t know. But we DO know that Thrawn has made three DANGEROUS new friends.
    I fall into the “loved it” faction of fans as far as the Ahsoka series is concerned. Yes - it could have just as soon been titled “Rebels Season V - Live Action”. But that’s fine with me!!!! I can even (now) live with Sabine becoming a Jedi. Luke suddenly developed telekinesis on Hoth when a Wampa was about to have him for lunch. He had obvious difficulty, just like he did on Dagobah. And he wasn’t strong enough in this discipline to levitate Anakin Skywalker as he was dying in Death Star II (Luke dragged him). Sabine’s decision to give the map to Baylan is the only head-scratcher for me.

Where that race of people are in debited to him. The empire "saved" Honoghr from being destroyed in Legends and the people where in servitude to the Empire and they used the people as special ops. I also believe that Cal and Merrin are on Dathomir and Thrawn doesn't know this. Their child becomes disillusioned with the purging of her people while Cal and Merrin are trying to keep her from following her ancestors. When Morgan reaches her age of understanding her people's history the Great Mother's reach out to her through the force and tell her to leave her family in search of Thrawn and Peridia. They could even explore this in a sequel game to Jedi Survivor which focuses on Cal and Merrin trying to stop their daughter from searching for Thrawn. Cal and Merrin cross paths with Ahsoka at some point who volunteers to stop Morgan to avoid "personal feelings" getting in the way for Cal and Merrin who may not do what must be done (kill her if necessary) to stop her from finding Thrawn. Cal and Merrin return to Dathomir to find the other star map to Peridia. Remember, the Eye of Sion comes out of hyperspace at Dathomir and there is more than one point of transit to Peridia confirmed in the Ahsoka series. This may also be why Ahsoka and Sabine are right where they need to be as I believe Merrin can also sense the great mothers like Morgan. Cal also used to work for the empire at the shipyards in the start of Fallen Order, he knows where to get those hypodrives to modify the Mantis. I have wild theories but I really believe in this one, remember the scene at the end of Jedi Survivor? I'm almost certain about this Morgan is the child of Cal and Merrin. And the two of them transit to Peridia when Ahsoka and Sabine have the "feeling in the stars" right before the Anakin cameo. This is a double meaning and Anakin is smiling because he knows help is on the way. Merrin resurrects and cleanses Morgan at the start of Season 2. They all band together to stop Baylon on Peridia while Hera and Ezra fight Thrawn in the known galaxy. Things become grim for Hera and Ezra. The group on Peridia comes back to save the day just in time during Season 2 finale after Baylon or (Abeloth) is vanquished setting up the Thrawn movie. Ahsoka sacrifices herself to stop Baylon and Thrawn betrays the great mothers in a way similar to how he does Morgan. Morgan helps Sabine, Cal and Merrin get back to the known galaxy and Season 2 ends with them coming back to the known galaxy to fight Thrawn for control of Dathomir the same way season 1 ended only reversed. Most of the action in season 2 is on Peridia with brief updates of Hera, Ezra and the New Republic getting their asses kicked by Thrawn with the turning point happening in the Thrawn movies. Shin Hati was also sacrificed at the start of Season 2 to bring out Abeloth. The raiders have a deal with Baylon and bring her to them to "save the planet." I forgot to include what Shin is up to but she is killed off early... lmk what you think of you can follow my convoluted theory....

    Thrawn has never controlled magic, or force users. It seems like his cargo is one of bodies. Most likely those of the Night Sister People of Dathamir. Plus some or perhaps all of his troopers have green magic in them. Then there is that host of what looks like human or even greater sized caskets loaded onto his ship. So…looks like he has an army of maybe 20,000 magic wielding troops from what we saw in that hanger of his big ship. So he has a very effective assault force.
    What else? Some tie fighters, intercepters, and gunships. His big ship needs to put into port for repairs. In order for this to happen he needs a secret location, some place to lay low for a bit. We will see, but I suspect things will be challenging for him before they become better. It also seems strange that Luke hasn’t become involved. May the force be with you!

    I agree with everything. At first, I believed the caskets to contained the remains of witches, as Morgan referred to how long it will take to accomplish the task of removing the witches from the catacombs. Yet, once I actually saw the caskets had lights (indicating there is a power source), I changed my conclusion. It's more likely they are stasis chambers not catacombs.
    I also agree they haven't been in stasis long. Likely this began to occur shortly after the father died, and there was an awakening of sorts on the planet. No doubt, darkness and danger spread throughout Peridea. Night Sisters put themselves into Stasis and concealed themselves in the catacombs.
    No doubt Morgan has some connection to the Night Sisters and obviously some training in their magicks. Whether she was with the Empire before the end of the war is an interesting question. Also, of note. Since Morgan did say, "For Dathomir". It will be interesting to find out if she ever found out the connection between the Emperor and Count Dooku. Keep in mind, very few did know even after the war.
    Although it was Dooku who commanded the separatist forces behind the Night Witch's destruction, we all know who Dooku orchestrated almost everything through. After the war, any civilization who may have become a threat to Palpatine was pretty much destroyed. Once Palpatine became emperor, it was likely in his plans to eliminate the Night Sisters.

    In Legends, the y-critters were used to push back the force from the cloning facility (a force-free bubble if you will) so the clones could be grown/matured faster without being driven mad by having a duplicate(s) in the force nearby. C'baoth was the example of the instability that could manifest when a clone was matured too fast. Luke was fine using the force on clones, but he found their signature in the force to be very odd because of the carbon copy effect.
    Part of the challenge with the T-Zahn legends material is that it was written before the Clone Wars was fleshed out in the animated series, so the whole duplicate in the force concept really doesn't age well since it never was mentioned w.r.t. any of the clones in any of the animated materials.

    The first two theories could have been thrown out just by pointing that Thrawn was taking aboard the cargo as pre the agreement with the Great Mothers. So the cargo was never Thrawns, and it was in the catacombs all of which we find out in the first 3 minutes of Thrawns appearance. It with Ezra's comment was pretty spelled out form the get go. My money is also that its nightsisters who are still in Stasis. They probably didn't wake them up because it would maybe attract whatever else is on the planet. And all that really only comes into view with Baelen.
    I think you are right with everything. Their first stop is Dathomir, and also Morgans "for Dathomir" changed how we look at her entirely.
    On top of that I wonder what will become of Shin and her raiders, I guess she will have some sort of arc with Baelen, or maybe she will just continue attacking Ahsoka and the others.

    I think Thrawn got there and woke the matriarchs from their slumber and made a deal with them, they helped him and he would help them. He could have pointed them to Morgan Elsbeth as a survivor (who could hear their dreams) and also inform them of the fall of Dathomir. As the Matriarchs know Mother Talsin's name, they might have sensed her passing in some way. So Thrawn telling them he knows a survivor, might be crucial to them - for thrawn to escape and for the nightmothers to finally leave that place. I too believe the caskets hold the nightsister race, but not in stasis, but as corpses and that they intend to revive them on Dathomir. They help Thrawn, to restart their civilisation. BUT - they also reacted very negatively to Sabine "reeks of Jedi". Which means they do KNOW the Jedi, and not like Merrin from recent events, but probably from a long-standing feud. I believe the Jedi too have roots in Peridia,(the galaxy) and they might have had a hand in the fall of the Witch-Kingdom (Which would be the classical Knight vs. Witch story). And the Nightsisters want to escape and rebuilt, without getting into trouble with the Jedi again. In the home galaxy the Jedi are all but extinct, and thus they venture there with Thrawn. So I guess it would be a good question whether or not there are dangerous ancient Jedi remnants in Peridia. I also wonder whether or not the Nightsisters will have anything to do with pulling old Palps from the grave.

    Dave Filoni has a hell of a habit of catching us off guard. He said this open one direction and then suddenly it something else. The episode the Jedi in the Mandalorian, for example.
    I certainly wasn't expecting to see Ahsoka, especially labelled a Jedi.
    But calling Baylan doesn't seem to have bothered the other inhabitants, Abeloth would have had them for lunch. The Night Sisters were really up against the Mortis Mother, they would have allied with her. They do have a very similar philosophy.
    Also, according to legends she was imprisoned by her Family in the centre of the galaxy and Luke is going to have to deal with her in the next few years.
    All of this may not be canon, a phrase I think we need to be shot of as it seems to be different each week. There are other dark things in the Star Wars universe.
    What about the Yuuzhan Vong? Where were they before they came to the Star Wars galaxy? These are all just thoughts of mine. Filoni will no doubt pull something out of his bag of tricks we don't see coming and I'm looking forward to it.
