Agree with most of your points, I would also include that many Jedi survivors, like Kanan, were padawans by the time of Order 66, who had not yet passed the Jedi Trial of Courage. We the results when Kanan finally overcame his fear and was then able to best the Grand Inquisitor, yet was no match for his Jedi counterpart

Sorry but Tales of the empire felt like a watered down version of Tales of a Jedi. It had worse story telling and writing, to the point the stories added really nothing. The entire Morgan arc was centerred around showing off her combat skills to somehow justify her being able to put up a figth against Ahsoka. Also why does this back woods no body have a entire beskar spear before joining up with Thrawn? Wasnt all the beskar confiscated by the empire during the purge..... Then the Inquiz arc really doesn't add anything new except the trials.

I can see where Luke was coming from. In general, if we're looking at a Jedi or Sith of similar skill level and physical conditioning in a pure 1 vs 1 situation, the Jedi generally comes out on top. Where the Sith generally wins, it's a mismatch. The Jedi that Maul defeated are generally significantly less conditioned for battle than Maul was. Sidious doctrine when it came to his students engaging the Jedi in combat was spelled out by Dooku in the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon. The Sith must have fear, surprise, and intimidation on their side. They must break the Jedi before they engage them. Otherwise, it would be advisable to retreat first and choose another opportunity to engage the Jedi. The Jedi are better duelist. But the Sith are better warriors and assassins. Jedi wins duels, but Sith wins battles.

I really just wish it was Darker. Like- There isn't a whole lot of fear, anger, and hate here. Especially when it came to the Inquisitors. One of the darkest, most despair-filled aspects of Star Wars Canon. Where was all that?

The first episode was good. The rest was embarrassingly bad writing.

I was disappointed with the series as a whole but majorly disappointed with the Bariss redemption arc. Why does every villain have to be “misunderstood” in modern Star Wars? Not to bad but could have been better, personally I’d have had Vader hunting her down, we could of had a rematch and a moment where they meet again for the 1st time since the Jedi temple bombing, they meet again but this time on opposite sides of the force, in her last few breaths she realised who Vader really is, it would have been so poetic and tragic at the same time

Disappointing... Vader says not a word. It was corny and Barriss Offee last time I saw her she was pissed and very much on the way to the Dark side . Also you can't rewrite history or you can try but Barriss Offee was clearly already a darksider when she fought Anakin. Like you said she says. Red fits me better, I'm paraphrasing. At her trial your archivist tried to soften up Offee but she was pissed and spitting vinger at that trial not begging them to lay down there swords. C'mon guys you gotta keep it real. You two are grasping at straws. I love you guys but I saw your vids before. You're disappointed too. What should have happened is Barriss becoming the opposite of Ahsoka. In essence Barriss Offee should have been ying to Ahsoka's yang. That would be such a better arc. I mean she did it to survive but she force choked a kid then threw him in a pit. You don't just chill out from that. At best they could have shown her in turmoil. Instead it was like nothing ever happened and she was old Barriss the Jedi Padawan again. A good person just misunderstood. Bullsh*t! It was bad writing, bad ideas, and bad execution even of their poor ideas, bad writing. The Morgan Elsbeth part was lackluster and boring too. Terrible and could have been great with a proper storyline or at least decent by tweaking it a lot. It's the 1st show from Filoni that wasn't any good at all. He might have too much on his plate. Or simply everyone has miss sometimes. Either way it was a whiff that should have been an easy homerun.

How was this really "Tales of the Empire"? It was nothing more than the usual Disney Crap, complete with a 'they/them' jedi. That scene was dark, and Barriss said "they were hurt", leaving me to wonder if there had been multiple jedi present that had been wounded. The last thing anyone needed to see was the sappy redemption arc of a hated character, who acted like the typical female Disney Mary Sue, dodging every lightsaber thrust that same way Ezra did in Ahsoka.

I understand what you guys are saying about the Vader/Bariss connections but, don't forget, Vader's true identity as Anakin was meant to be kept secret from everyone.

The ancient sith traditions were destroyed with Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious. He believes that the traditional ties are no longer useful. Since they implement a scientific approach than sorcery. Which to me is very fascinating.

I thought the Bariss arc was great. I thought her dabbling into the dark side was totally in character. In her duel with Anakin she said something along the lines of “I think these red blades suit me”. Which to me sounds like she’s taking some dark pleasure in fighting Anakin, which certainly teases her fall to the dark side. I’m fine that Vader appeared for seconds. Because they used him effectively. It showed that even though she condemned his padawan he showed no emotion. It was almost as if he felt nothing towards Ahsoka. It showed how strong the dark sides hold on him was. My only real complaint is she was asked to kill a friend and she does it without question. But when it comes to being asked to kill a Jedi she never knew she does a complete turn back to the light. But maybe she needed time (and a body count) to realize she had made a mistake. Also I really hope to see a reunion between her and Ahsoka. I mean that is sort of the reason I was pumped for her arc. I wanted to see if it was going to be a knock down dragged out brutal brawl or if it was going to be a tear jerking cathartic apology or both.

As Jedi, they weren't especially "weak". As dark siders though, they were fairly weak and poorly trained so they they didn't become a threat to either Palpatine or Vader.

Please don't get confused the Legends material with the Kennedy material that includes kylo Ren. In fact had it been the original Luke dealing with that young little brash punk named kylo, I highly doubt kylo would have survived against Legends Luke because Legends Luke was a legitimate badass. Think about it, he attained the rank of GrandMaster. Legends Luke helped rebuild not just the Jedi Order but the New Republic as well. In Legends there was no kylo Ren. In Legends. Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade had such an Awesome and Wonderful Son by the name of Ben Skywalker. This is lore that I had been hoping for and was expecting massively and I'm sure many others like me had been in high hopes that we would get to see Luke meet up with Mara and where he and the rest of his family and the rest of the universe would have been able to grow. At least bring to life that universe that we have all come to know throughout our lives. The universe of Star Wars that came before Disney's star wars.

I am so glad and so ecstatic to see you acknowledge the legends of Star Wars. It's a shame that many many channel operators here on CZcams who claimed to be legitimate Star wars fans yet they choose to speak of Disney's Star wars more than the legends that made Disney's star wars. It would be so awesome if George Lucas could come back and bring to life the legends that we have all grown up to knowing and loving our whole lives. I mean there's a handful of The OG's who are no longer with us but I'm sure there's some way that can be worked into bringing or keeping their characters within the loop. While keeping the OG story separate from the Disney crap. If only that could happen. I'm sure the Lucas Legacies will fare so much more then the trash heap that was made recently by Ms. Kennedy and her regime.

I literally don’t understand Star Wars fans There was nothing wrong with this show imo and I thought Barriss’ arc was beautiful I mean the characters aren’t exactly ones I think most of us have an interest in but the stories were still good Barriss hated the Jedi and saw through the corruption and did some pretty terrible things to the order, and with the way the Jedi were at the time you can’t entirely blame her as scummy as her actions were She became an inquisitor thinking it was the right thing to hunt down Jedi and in her eyes convert them like the chance she was given but her issues were against the Jedi themselves, not innocent people So when she saw lyn killing innocents it was a crossed line for her So she turns on her and retires by becoming a healer Not Jedi, not inquisitor But someone who’s intertwined with both light and dark in a way and someone who redeemed themselves for their actions I thought it was amazing, I thought it’s fascinating how they can turn a character in my eyes as one so vastly hated due to her actions and not a very interesting character into something a little more to make me appreciate her more as this character I still hardly care about

So basically, the Eternal Empire was the way things should be neither light nor dark. They study the force and share it no matter which way it leans. Sounds better than the Sith or Jedi.

Tales of the sith would be a perfect way to show the relationship between Vader and palpatine between episodes 3 and 4 and could even go as far as the second death star. They could Also show the downfall of Ben Solo into kylo Ren

I felt meh after watching the series. Morgan's story felt like it was told to bring in Grievous and Thrawn, and could had done so with a more popular character. Barriss was more interesting to me but felt very safe and predictable. Hope there is a season 2 and they choose more popular characters. I was more curious about Maul than Barriss and definitely more than Morgan

At Barriss's core, she's a healer. She is also not a warrior by nature, but by training. Her nature won out over the warrior. I liked her arc. Wish it would have been longer.

Very good research, and great points throughout the video however, I think the assumption made in this video is that Thrawn would have been green lit on everything he wanted. We already see that despite Thrawns capabilities and influence he still had to fight for the TIE Defender. Both the Emperor and Tarkin favored the Death Star over every other project, other Imperials also had a great distrust in Thrawn due to his alien heritage. It just seems unlikely that he would have command over the Imperial structure in such a way have as much impact as he would like too. Especially since for all his gifts he sucked at dealing with Jedi nonsense.

Look I love all the animation for Star Wars. But this was Tales of the Empire. There was not enough Empire in the show titles that way. Tell me how she came up with the tie defender idea. Show me how she moved up the ranks of the empire to get to that point. Show me Vader doing his imperial duties or Other things happening in the empire. This barely touched it.

I liked Tales of the Jedi more but I feel Tales of the Empire (while not being perhaps as good as it could have been) told two compelling stories that I wanted to hear. I hope they do more of these and expand further as there are so many stories out there in this vast galaxy.
