  • Ahsoka went from a single green lightsaber, to dual lightsabers, to blue lightsabers, to pure white lightsabers. This is how, and why her lightsabers changed colors. It follows her character development, her fighting style, and her attachment to Anakin Skywalker. From the beginning of the clone wars, all the way through Rebels, and now in the Ahsoka Series, this covers all of Ahsoka's lightsaber changes! #ahsokaseries #ahsokatano

    Saw a theory once that said after Vader found Ahsoka's sabers, he gave them to an Inquisitor who corrupted the crystals for himself.
    Years went by, and that Inquisitor went on to fight...Ahsoka, who defeated him in combat, and, of course, took the crystals. Her crystals.
    Shows how they are almost sentient enough to "find" their way back to her through the will of the force. They were always meant to be hers.

      Kinda like The One Ring.
      Also the idea of the Kaibur being alive gives credence to how they can change color as the Jedi's relationship with the Force is reflected in the color of their crystal. That there are certain things that can alter the Kaibur crystal's relationship with the Force (Bleeding or Healing) which alter the appearance of the saber on a more fundamental level.
      That is just my take on the situation.

      There was one thing that confused me about the time when her lightsabers were blue in Clone Wars Season 7. When they were green-yellowish green, the sound they made was your iconic/classic lightsaber sound that I suppose originated back in the time of the OG trilogy. But when she gets those same sabers but in blue because of Anakin’s tinkering, they made a peculiar, almost bass-y sound. And then watching Rebels after the Clone Wars made me realise that the sounds of her white lightsabers and her blue pair were alike (pull up any clip from Clone Wars season 7 and Rebels, Mandalorian onward for reference).
      With that long explanation in mind, that theory may not be entirely far-fetched and they were growing more and more connected with Ahsoka, thus the sound change.

    It's also worth noting, in the Mortis Arc, Ahsoka received the spirit/life essence of the Daughter, who represented the light side of the Force. This is possibly why she was able to change the crystals from red to white. It takes a very special connection to the Force to get the white colour, with Terra Sinube being the only other person shown to have a saber like that.

    From what I remember, it was:
    Blue: A "Guardian"-class Jedi. Specialists in combat.
    Green: A "Consular"-class Jedi. Specialists in the Force.
    Yellow: A "Sentinel"-class Jedi. Basically Jedi operators/black ops.
    I recall a favorite scenario that describes the difference.
    A Guardian, Consular, and Sentinel arrive a locked door, behind which is a person they need to capture.
    The Guardian pulls out his lightsaber to cut the door open.
    The Consular tries to talk the person into opening the door.
    The Sentinel snuck around back, picked/spliced the lock, and already has the guy.

    I'm still conflited about the idea of bleeding crystals. It's a cool idea, but it marks anyone with red lightsabers as Sith. So in the Phantom Menace, no one would doubt Qui-Gon about the return of the Sith if he brought up Maul's red lightsaber.

    • @SigTheSauceMan
      @SigTheSauceMan Před 9 měsíci +13

      Actually, pre-Disney, Kyber crystals naturally occurred in various colors (including red), and Sith crystals were artificially-created using the Force, and were just red because dark side. But there WERE Jedi that had red lightsabers (though mostly in the time where the Sith were thought extinct, and so no-one had a problem/association of red lightsabers with the Sith then).
      But in Disney's canon, the crystals are uncolored, and are dyed a color based on the traits of the person who dyes it.

    • @JoelPerry1
      @JoelPerry1 Před 9 měsíci +5

      @@SigTheSauceMan Right. That's why I'm conflicted. Pre Disney, there isn't a plot hole, as some jedi used red sabers. With bleeding crystals, there is a plot hole.

      @danielwalshe3354 Před 9 měsíci +13

      Not really. Anyone who subscribes to the dark side can bleed a crystal. They don’t need to be Sith. Inquisitors (while they served the sith) were not Sith. Kylo Ren (while idolising Vader) was not a Sith. It literally just means they subscribe to the Dark Side

    • @avaarrow7478
      @avaarrow7478 Před 9 měsíci +7

      @@JoelPerry1well… anyone can bleed a kyber crystal if they have force aptitude. It could totally be just some Jedi who got a Lottie carried away by the death of their Padawan. If things went differently, Rael Aveross, Count Dooku’s first Padawan before Que-gon, would have gone to the dark side after the death of his Padawan.

    • @JoelPerry1
      @JoelPerry1 Před 9 měsíci

      Right, but it's not a fallen Jedi because the Jedi would be aware of him, and it's not some random force user because he nearly beat a Jedi master. Extreme skill plus a bled crystal is a pretty clear indicator that Maul was Sith. We have Ben Solo as an example of a failed bled crystal. If you don't know what you're doing, the crystal becomes unstable. But Maul's crystal was bled perfectly. The Inquisitors didn't bleed their crystals, Vader did it for them.

    I was always disappointed when the prequels came out and Lucas didnt get more colorful with the saber blades. I thought it was kinda dumb to only have blue and green and red so to at least see Mace Windu with the purple blade was really awesome. But where were the others like yellow and orange and even the different shades of blue and green and purple and gold even pinky shades. Ahsokas 2 different greens were sweet. I have to say I'm hooked on the white blades though, I've always wanted to see those brought to life. I've been playing Jedi Survivor and the first thing I did was make my saber white and its freaking awesome!

      BLUE LIGHTSABERS ARE USED BY GUARDIANS AND THEY FOCUS ON LIGHTSABER COMBAT
      (OBI WAN, ANAKIN, KANAN, KI ADI MUNDI...)
      GREEN LIGHTSABERS ARE USED BY CONSULARS AND THEY FOCUS ON THE USE OF THE FORCE
      (YODA, QUIGON, LUKE, EZRA...)
      YELLOW LIGHTSABER ARE USED BY THE SENTINELS OF THE JEDI TEMPLE AND THEY ARE MORE BALANCED
      (GRAND INQUISITOR WHILE HE WAS A JEDI)
      THIS DEPENDS ON THE PATH EACH JEDI CHOOSE AND I REMEMBER THERE ARE ALSO 3 SITH VARIANTS
      ONE USES MORE THE FORCE AND LIGHTNING (SIDIOUS IS THE "GREEN SITH" LIKE YODA)
      OTHER USE MORE THE RED LIGHTSABER (VADER IS THE "BLUE SITH" JUST LIKE ANAKIN)
      AND THE LAST ONE USUALLY USE MORE THAN ONE LIGHTSABER AND THE FORCE (I THINK MAUL WAS LIKE THE "YELLOW SITH" BUT THIS ONE IS THE LESS COMMON)
      BUT BECAUSE ALL SITH USE RED LIGHTSABER (SOME PURPLE LIKE MACE WINDU) IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE 3 MAIN VARIANTS

      In a manner of speaking, you’re right. Lightsaber color signifies not rank, but personality.
      Blue: guardian, practice the force in physical aspects, and “aggressive negotiations”
      Green: consular, learn the many mysteries of the force and prefer peaceful solutions if possible

    I’m still not really sure how I feel about the concept of “bleeding” crystals since, in Legends, there was a whole smorgasbord of crystal types rather than just plain, old “Kyber.” The synthetic crystals fit the Sith since it fit their mindset so well. To them, a lightsaber crystal was just a tool, so it makes sense that they’d go for the generally more powerful lab-grown crystals rather than the naturally-formed ones of the Jedi. They used the Force as a tool rather than serving it; there was nothing sacred about it. Why would they treat their weapons any differently.
    That being said, I DO like the idea of the clear/white crystals since they basically embody the entire philosophy of Star Wars. The crystals were once completely corrupted by the Dark Side, but were eventually saved and cleansed of its influence. However, bc they were cleansed, their original blue, green, yellow, etc. color will forever be lost to them. They may be free from the Dark Side and able to serve the Will of the Force again, but the experience still left its scars.

    i don't know, so the blue lightsabers are just green ones arteficially altered in color? Why give the crystal a color in the first place if it is altered so easily and does that mean that the colors mean nothing since any jedi could simply choose the color to his/ her liking? Just like i do in Jedi fallen order? No i don't like this. And If Anakin truly misses ashoka wouldn't it be weird to change things that were originally hers? Most people in the real world who are holding on to things that belonged to someone deceased or gone develop an downright fear of altering anithing even in the slightest. No thats not the explanation.
    The actual logical explanation here is that Anakin wasn't truly holding on to ashokas old sabers but prepared replacements for the lost sabers just in case ashoka should ever return. For the lack of her crystals he imbued crystals of his own. Which then of coarse took on the same color as all of his crystals which is the blue we see.
