    Torguta clearly have longer lifespans than humans and she happens to have spent her extended youth on the frontlines during a period of constant conflict and then an underground fight for survival. By the time we see her in live action she genuinely has more combat experience than I think any named character at that point with the exception of R2D2 and Chewie

      R2-D2 has extremely limited combat experience. And Chewie? Much less unless there's a lot of fighting Chewie did prior to the Clone Wars. Ahsoka has been fighting hand-to-hand for like 43 years, on the battlefield for like 31.

    • @arkangelgaming35
      @arkangelgaming35 Před 9 měsíci +5

      Ahsoka doesn't have much more combat experience after the CW.
      She hid, she became Fulcrum, a spy.
      I love the character, but people gotta stop pretending she's one of the best warriors/combatants in Star Wars, because she's not. And unfortunately, I think Disney are too desperate for this show to succeed so her power curve is going to be nuts through the 2nd and 3rd acts.
      Ahsoka is good, very, but she's not a great duelist by the standards of her own era ( the prime Jedi order)
      Unfortunately, everyone else in current timeline who would be better than her is already dead... Vader, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Grand Inquisitor etc.
      100% expecting Beylan and Shin to be helpless whelps against Ahsoka and unless Marrok was written to be just going easy, he's probably some nothing that will be killed off in Ep3 easily.

      you know whats briliant about that scene? for a brief moment, after grabbing the blade (like 5 frames or so) you see she's confused and curious about this weird lightsaber then, the next couple of frames, you can see a change in expression as though she sensed and connected with the kyber crystal. its like 12 frames total, so half a second at 24fps. but you see a whole thought process and realisation in that time. props to the animation team for pulling that one off

    Addressing Qui-Gon Jinn using Form IV, while it’s not outright stated in the lore, Jinn revised his Ataru technique to better suit his physical conditions. By the time of The Phantom Menace, Qui-Gon was in his sixties, so he couldn’t pull off the traditional Form IV maneuvers, and so shifted over to his strength in order to take advantage of his muscle mass. That’s why Jinn’s fighting style was so different to other Form IV users like Ahsoka or Yoda

    Ahsoka is force prodigy and forged in war. Is it any wonder why she so strong since she has basicaly spent most of her life fighting in wars rather than living in peaceful times. Let us not forget that Anakin trained her well and to be able fight opponents far larger and stronger than her. Plus the wealth of battle experience places her right at the top of the lightsaber duelists. And what many might forget she was jedi knight material at the age of 15. And would have been knighted had she stayed with the order.

    • @arkangelgaming35
      @arkangelgaming35 Před 9 měsíci +1

      She nearly lost to Morgan Elsbeth... Don't give me that horseshit.
      She's skilled, yes, and I really hope the show doesn't give her some kinda power boost, because she's not super powerful and she's not a super duelist, she's adequate but smart and uses her wits to her advantage.
      This is why she could not beat Maul, and this is why she struggled against 3 Inquisitors (with allies of her own) and if anyone thinks her battle with Vader lasted any more than 2 minutes, they're bloody stupid.
      She can deal with droids, she can deal with Inquisitors... I'm hoping she struggles against Beylan, but it's Disney. Of course the woman will be the strongest....

    • @milijanpetrovic7228
      @milijanpetrovic7228 Před 9 měsíci +6

      @@arkangelgaming35 I would rather have her as MC than Rey as she came long before Disney bought Star wars and she isn`t mary sue like Rey or powerful like Rey or Luke she simply has far more experience then either of them at the time where there are not that many trained force users. Also she really did have humiliating moments and defeats. In fact it wasn`t just Dave who created her. It was Lucas himself who came upon the idea first.
      Obviously you haven`t seen her entire story. For Morgan Elsbeth she wanted her alive not dead. If you know anything about Ahsoka as character and her fighting style you would know she was holding back.
      She did beat Maul who while not in best state of mind was still dangerous and that was in Clone wars season 7 and she would have beaten him in Rebels if they did fought and she was`t the primary character in rebels so her fighting Maul or the inquisitors there would steal the show from actual main characters. Also watch the episode of rebels where she goes solo against fifth brother and seventh sister. Or when she curbstomps the inquisitor without even having light saber. Ahsoka book not included.
      As for her fight with the Vader of course it would look short. What did you expect. It is animated series where episode is shorter than a movie that can afford longer lightsaber duels. Same goes for her fight with Marrok in Ahsoka series as episodes are also shorter and she was dominating him in the end. You don`t see the entire fight as most of it was not showed but did happen offscreen. And just because it lasts like 2 minutes onscreen it is just part of longer offscreen battle in both cases. Also it was one of the Vaders toughest battles he ever had as he was going all out. Just for the record Vader was wrecking Ezra and Kanan easily. Not to mention she able to very briefly hold back Palpatine all that in short order. She is not on Yoda`s, Palp`s or Anakin`s level just on regular jedi master that is on high council level.
      And honestly right now I am more interested in Marrok than either Ahsoka, Baylan or Shin.

      @@arkangelgaming35 Uuuuuh... But she did beat Maul... And for Morgan Elsbeth, she was trying to go for the win, not for the kill, meaning you have to be holding back so you don't slice the person you need information from/want to capture and leave them on the floor dead instead. Plus, Elsbeth is a proper Night Sister, not just your average Dothamir witch.

    • @baki484
      @baki484 Před 9 měsíci

      @@arkangelgaming35 I agree with this comment.
      She lost against Vader and only damaged him because he was distracted (the only reason she lasted that long is because Anakin also trained her to fight larger opponents) and Maul wasn't at his best while he was distracted and wasn't trying to kill when they fought while she was throwing everything she had at him.
      Ahsoka's skill configuration is geared towards battlefield engagements but allows her to contend in a lightsaber duel.

    People dunk on the Clone Wars movie a lot, and while it absolutely deserves a lot of that, it also has lots of really cool details that are quite nice, like how both it and the rest of the Clone Wars series would pay really close attention to forms of Lightsaber combat and would apply them in really clever ways, like you mentioned with how Ahsoka uses Form 5 at one point but gets defeated because Form 5 is a poor fit for her. @AlienXtream1 Před 9 měsíci +10

      actually that is incorrect. the Jedi doctrun claims that emotions=darkside but in truth it has little to do with emotion and everything to do with mentality. when Ahsoka is "angry" in combat she's not tapping into the darkside (i personally think she is physically incapable of it since The Daughter resurrected her) as that anger never turns to pure rage. she never looses sight of her goal and, when facing organic opponents, shows restraint. tapping into the dark side isn't using emotion, its surrendering to it. Ahsoka has lived and experienced. being still relatively young when she left the order and went into hiding post order 66 she had an oppertunity that few Jedi get in life. to live. she learned to regulate and control her emotions, rather than suppress them and get overwhelmed when they surface. granted she isn't a master at it, but who can truely say they have mastered their emotions. Kit Fisto is another example of a Jedi who is emotionally driven in combat. he actively relishes the thrill, but never surrenders to it. Ahsoka is the same. she loves a good fight, but knows when to stay her blade. by contrast, when one is overwhelmed and surrenders to their emotions they are no longer in control. the darkside clouds their judgment and they become puppets, slave to their "intrusive thoughts".

    Ahsoka is an exotic Jedi with influence from many masters, who also happen to be the top notch of their era in one way or another. Ahsoka has Koon's tranquil and strong sensitivity to the flow of the Force, she has Obi-Wan's pacifism and Anakin's steadfast will and quick thinking when being contested. But she somewhat acts on her own accord (or should we say that she was guided only by her mind and the Force), something very common among mavericks like master Jinn.

    The thing with the deaths of all those Nimaan users is that they did it wrong…Form VI is a jack of all trades that can be easily combined with other techniques. If you were to now sprinkle in Form III defensive manoeuvres into the well rounded Form VI you suddenly have a style that works well against blaster fire and lightsabers alike. The Jedi in the Arena used a jack of all trades, master of none, without compensating for that weakness.

    Ashoka is turning out to be not just Jedi but overall one of the greatest force wielders and lightsaber duelists of the entire mythos...just the fact that that she go toe to toe with Vader,injure him and not get killed (beside that crap Ezra pulled) by Vader says a lot. Being one of the apprentices of the chosen one himself,shares some type of soul bond or could be a re incarnation of the Daughter. Veteran of the clone wars and the galactic civil war,student and child of the old Jedi order..she better have an amazing death to wrap up her story one day

    I think by the time of the Ashoka series she uses 3 specific forms. The reverse grip variation of form V is the first form she learned, as like you said she wasn’t as physical as Anakin, she took a more defensive approach on the form combining some of form III Soresu principles. This is form V Shien, the more aggressive version of form III, featuring a reverse grip and focusing on absorbing the enemies attacks and delivering fast and heavy counterattacks (the reverse grip favours a more counters focused style), instead of tiring the enemy down as form III would, or overpowering their defences as form V variation Djem So would. During the Clone Wars she started using a more agile and fast style and incorporated a second lightsaber or a Shoto. This is form IV Ataru, and combined with the second lightsaber she would preserve her Shien, increasing her defensive capabilities and counterattacking angles, while implementing the Ataru principles of fast and agile attacks, as using a lightsaber and a shoto allows the Jedi to focus on offence with the large saber and on defence with the shoto. Finally, by the time of Order 66, the purge, Rebels and Ashoka, she would start to practise form II Makashi duelling style. With the Jedi hunt that the Empire would start she started to face a lot of lightsaber users, so she needed to adapt. Implementing form II gives her an advantage on 1v1 against lightsaber users, focusing on precision, footwork and timing. Her decision to start using form II when she was older is pretty clever, as the form needs a mature user with patience, and it also benefits from the use of Dunn Moch, which as you said, she used pretty often. Also her new lightsabers are build to use Makashi, as they feature a curved hilt, seen in Dooku’s lightsaber, that helped deliver more precise and fast swings with minimal effort. It can be seen in her last duels of the Ashoka series, where she used only one lightsaber, grabbing it like a katana.

    Fighting forms is why I immediately knew Sabine would lose. Her guard signaled Form I while Shin had the ready stance of Form II (like Count Dooku), specifically tailored to beat Form I adversaries.

  • @lerneanlion
    @lerneanlion Před 9 měsíci +2

    So when the Force took over the Jedi, the best way to fight back is like how Count Dooku taught General Grievous. One must have fear, surprise and intimitdation with them. If one element is lacking, the best course of action is to retreat. Before engaging the Jedi in combat, the Jedi must already be broken by the time such engagement happened. In other words, do not allowed the Jedi to let the Force takeover and forcing them to rely purely on the lightsabers until they can't anymore.

    In her last two fights in the Ahsoka series against Baylan and Force Anakin in the World between Worlds plane, she opted for using a single blade in a more grounded Form V dominated approach, I've heard the notion a two handed grip on single blade offers more leverage for a 1 on 1 duel.

    They were taught all the forms. Some would apparently focus on a single one, and maybe have a backup one. Ideally, one would borrow from each form and make their own style that both suits their personality and has maximum synergy with their own skills and physique.
