As they set up in this episode - Huyang and his stories from History of the Galaxy Part One. Huyang exists to do a back story lore dump - "I still have those stories in my archive memory". Huyang is pretty important for the character dynamics. Ahsoka and Sabine need someone who is a more traditional Jedi associate, to contrast their being so thoroughly un-traditional Jedi. Also to have a "rational" figure amongst our other protags who are all pretty headstrong and impulsive. Huyang hasn't done much physically, but he's a necessary foil to the others. I think it's Abeloth. Mortis Gods is Filoni's speciality. Characters use word "legends" a lot which implies that it's something from legends, which Abeloth is. It's someone that is able to use the Force and is so powerful that it can contact someone from another galaxy. Baylan saying that it's something dark and powerful only gives this theory more credibility. We saw some Zeffo symbols earlier so I think that Zeffo imprisoned Abeloth and she's calling someone [Baylan] to help her get out.

In Clone Wars, The Son killed the Daughter, and then the Father upon which Anakin killed the Son. The Daughter became Ashoka, and Anakin took the place of the Son.
Ashoka is practically a Grey Jedi now, capable of wielding both the light and the dark, so I believe that Ashoka takes on the position of the Father. Taking into account the Norse mythos, Skoll would take on the place of the Daughter, and Hati would take on the blacks of the Son.
Skoll saying he wishes to end the cycle echos the Son, but could likely be a reference to him seeking to end Abeloth whose BPD type feelings send ripples through the force resulting in instability thus imbalance.
I believe the Ragnorok event is when Ashoka, Skoll, and Hati team up to end Abeloth in the same way Naruto, Sasuke and the girl ended Kaguya.
But another possibility is Skoll, while investigating the planet unleashed Abeloth and dies, which would match the actors real life death. The map is defiantly tied to the mortis Gods as we hear the brother whilst Ahsoka figures out the puzzle to access the orb, suggesting he was once present in that temple, leaving a force Echo behind. The night sisters might actually have started as a result of Abeloth, considering they call their superiors Mother or Great Mother. They might use Abeloth's magick in a way but use it through trinkets and potions to prevent the magick from corrupting their mortal bodies and soul.
I don't think the nightsisters originated from Peridea but tried to expand their empire to it as Baylan called it, "the great witch Kingdom of the Dathmiri", odd to name your empire after a planet if it didnt start there. The great mothers might have been colonists in a way, riding the purgil along with a group of their sisters to build a new home but found that the purgil refused to take them back, it is where they go to die afterall. The mortis gods might have found out about what happened as the great mothers would be able to communicate through dreams to their fellow sisters, and saw a perfect way to trap Abeloth, tricking her into making the same journey, possibly luring her in by making her think thats where they resided.

And I'm a child of the 1980s so I personally love seeing Luke be OP as can be, but with that said...
If this ends up being Abeloth, I would be very curious to see where it goes and how powerful she ends up being, because given the sequel trilogy and where it is in the timeline, it makes me wonder who deals with her, how, and when... not to mention, how much time does this conflict last?

It makes too much sense that it’s her. She cannot get out, she’s like a walking apocalypse a plague that will swallow the Galaxy whole just to be less lonely.
I remember reading the novels where they introduced Abeloth. But even before that, in novel snippets when Jacen Solo was learning of the force and came upon Abeloth it’s clear that even with him slowly falling to the Dark Side, becoming more and more focused on power. That even to him whomever this women was she wasn’t anyone or anything good. So he rightfully refused here.

I think Abeloth is viable. Also, since Anakin as the chosen one is dead, he can only conjure his power in the Force itself, like the WBW, but since Abeloth is present in both, that would explain the need for Ahsoka, someone to physically confront her where Anakin cannot.

There’s a solid enough reason to think Abeloth, or at least a canon equivalent to her, will be featured soon. After all, it was Feloni’s Mortis arc that first introduced the rest of her “family” (Abeloth specifically fits well in the concept of Mortis family as a manifestation of chaos that contrasts the Father’s embodiment of balance and order) and it would be fitting for Feloni’s latest entry, as it further dives into the esoteric side of Star Wars to place a plot-driven focus on beings like Abeloth, Bendu and the Mortis dieties.

This is really interesting. The tower on Mortis does resemble the tower on Paridea. Perhaps we will discover that originally the Dathomir witches were gaolers, and the catacombs are centuries worth of those charged with this task. Perhaps they know they can no longer keep their prisoner contained and this is why they are desperate to escape to another galaxy before it is too late. It's so exciting to get new Star Wars that is telling something completely new (or old) and to not know what will happen next.
If this theory holds, I'm also excited to see how it is all introduced so that those who don't know the Clone Wars and Ahsoka's past with the celestials can follow along. So far they have done a fantastic job of building an engaging story that makes sense on its own.

The past is the prologue. A lot of esoteric art alludes to it at some point imo. The premise being like an ouroboros, the end is the beginning and the beginning an end. What’s new is actually really old. It’s one of the beauties of Star Wars’ aesthetic.
Skoll even states he wants to go to the beginning to create an end. Filoni is a G for this. Telling a really old story as a new chapter in the series is par for this course.

I really hope that Baylan is either killed off or changed enough for the story to be completed without him 'disappearing' off screen. The performance we have seen surrounding this character by Ray Stevenson has been far too good for him to just be written off or replaced with another actor - especially since we know how bad Disney seems to be at replicating facial features. It is ironic that his apprentice, Shin Hattie, has yet to show any particular personality other than maybe being a bit more aggressive and less measured than Baylan. To have Baylan killed, consumed or betrayed by Abloth or something similar would be a good end for the character as well as good thing for Shin to witness and prompt some growth in terms of the character traits we have seen from her so far - in fact that would make for a great cliff hanger in terms of ending Ashoka series 1. Just imagine if that happens right as everyone else is left behind by Thrawn making his way to the main galaxy...

I'm thinking the Night Sisters originated on this planet as disciples of Abeloth, or The Mother. They eventually find their way to the SW galaxy and set up shop on Dathomir. The Zeffo find them on Dathomir and eventually find their way to the Night Sister's home planet in search of Dark Side power. Some shit goes down that leaves the planet a wreck. I'm wondering if Baylon is going to unleash Abeloth who will take over the body of Shin Hati? There is a connection between the path to Peridia, the World Between World, and Mortis. Vegetation, animals, sentient being are all capable of living there and flourishing. But Peridea...it's just barren. Desolate. As if all life was drained from it. I dont know, Enoch's voice is pretty identical to Marrock's voice, and the primary power of the Night Sisters is reviving the dead. My guess is most of them are dead, and they can both be undead, as well as protected against Abeloth(?)'s influence via NS magic.
My bigger question is, they've implied that Abeloth might be a present factor (especially given Ahsoka's world between worlds trip in Ep.5), they brought the Gryzk as the replacement for the Vong is Zahn's cannon Thrawn books, and they brought in Zeffo ruins on Peridea, which discuss "Kujet" the dark side leader of the Zeffo, and Andor canonized to some degree the Rekatan empire. This entire series is basically bludgeoning us over the head about Legends stories being canonized.
My question is, in one more Ahsoka Season, one more Mando Season, and a Thrawn movie trilogy, how do you integrate all three of these things into a coherent story, and to what degree do each of them play a role/pose a threat?
I'm trusting Filoni to pull it off, given the past three episodes of Ahsoka being quite good - but my fear is oversaturation of lore. I would had for the Thrawn trilogy to become some kind of inaccessible Silmarilion of the Star Wars universe. (Or worse yet, fizzling out into some cringe SW Avengers, with Bo, Mando, Ahsoka, Ezra, and Boba all fighting Thrawnos, and winning)

I say this because in legends Abeloth is imprisoned in the deep core, and I think Dave Filoni is likely to keep it that way. However this theory is still completely valid as with the change over to disney, lots of things are being changed and more legends is being integrated into canon. If it is Abeloth, I'd like to see how they work her in this late into the series, I know there will probably be another season, but with only two seasons left it'll be hard to work another character in, in time for the end of the season. They're the Grysk now and it would make sense, since Thrawn was wanting to get the rest of the Galaxy prepped against them (and his people).

As long as it’s done right it would be awesome, but bc she’s more powerful then Ahsoka they have to explain how she’s going to win. Or if they got a army of Jedi, but they don’t have enough around anymore. And hopefully it’s not something stupid like all the Jedi from past years come together and give her the power, it has to be better, that’s where writers come in, they should be able to write a good way to beat her.

I’m really hoping the troopers are not undead of some kind maybe buffed by magic but not undead so hopefully you are right about the ribbons. Thrawn likes reliability the tie defender project kind of shows this, I don’t think he’d be so keen on relying heavily on anything that has an inherent weakness. As we saw with the whole Nightsister massacre in the clone wars the night sisters magic dead army stops when the nightsister casting the spell was killed by grevious. There seems to be a difference between zombies like the clone wars ones and whatever marrok was so the rules may be different. if they are the same Thrawn using an army that can be destroyed by Ahsoka getting into a room with the three night sisters or Sabine blowing them up just seems wrong.

I've been thinking for a few days about how similar Darth Treya's artwork from KotOR 2 is to the night mothers. She kind of has the same feel. I'm curious if Kreia is still alive and if so... did they imprison her with night mother magic? Could she still be alive (undead? It was never really explained in the game if she is alive or not. You find her dead and she just wakes up. Was she a zombie all along?) For all these thousands of years. Or maybe Revan is hidden here. I remember the dnd of Revan's story was disappearing into the outer rim and Carth and Bastilla searching forever. Or maybe Revan self exiled there... k St some thoughts I had after episode 6 viewing
