Так можешь победить это зло которое ты пережил. Никому не пожелаю это пережить, ни самому заклятому врагу. Самое сильное Оружие это сказать мысленно: Я тебя отпускаю и прощаю, пусть тебя Бог простит. To briefly explain the entire story(from my memories of both the book and film, so some things might get mixed together), she is handcuffed to a bed as her partner tries to assault her. It was consentual at first, but she then did not want it anymore and fights him. He tries again and then dies of a heart attack after she fights him off. She's stuck handcuffed by both hands to the bed and needs to escape or die of dehydration. She has a nightmare and wakes up to see this man in the shadows with a bunch of bone jewelery in a basket. She says, "You're not real. You're only made of moonlight." This makes him disappear, but she has a voice in her head telling her that if she doesn't free herself, he will kill her. She does escape but is then attacked by him as it turns out he was very real. She throws him her ring, thinking he wants to rob her and tries to escape in her car, but he appears in the backseat and causes her to crash. She has constant nightmares about him while recovering. Once she recovers, like 8 months later, she finds out he was arrested for his crimes, which include being a serial killer, cannibal and necrophile(if it isnt a victim he kills himself he will also dig up graves and eat/use them for his pleasure). He was robbing houses in the area and happened to get into their house. He is sadistic and likes to torment his victims, and that is why he waited for her to escape before trying anything for real. She then attends his trial, which is this scene, and he remembers her and is mocking what she said to him when handcuffed and when she thought he really wasn't real.
In the novel, she just spits in his face and walks out after, but this is the movie. I know she said this, but we just see him look at her confused after as if he didn't care or maybe it bothered him. If it did, then it didn't bother him that much, seeing as he is psychotic. He is actually really strong, too, so he really did break out of the plastic cuffs.

Carel Struycken who played the inmate is a 7 ft tall Dutch actor who had the condition Acromegaly. He does have large, unusual bone syructure as a result, but bumpy prosthetics, skin texture, and dentures were used to make him look this way for this movie "Gerald's Game" He also played Lurch in the 90s Addamms family movies.
In thia movie he was a mentally handicapped man that lived in a remote area and was r*ping and k*lling people. Carla Gugino's character is incapacitated for a lot of the movie and they cross paths. He doesn't hurt her, but she sees her previous attackers in him and is empowered by confronting her nightmare in broad daylight instead of the uncertainty of his presence in the dark when he visited her and she wasnt sure if she was hallucinating.

I think this is a really good point about trauma victims. They can often doubt details of their own experience or the seriousness of what happened to them, or whether or not they had some responsibility in encouraging or enabling their attackers. That uncertainty and the daily toll it has on someone is often worse than the experience itself. Confronting it and seeing it for what it is can help "shrink" the impact it has on someone- just to know that they didn't make it up, that they were actually a victim.

Gerald's Game is a 2017 American psychological horror thriller film directed and edited by Mike Flanagan, and screenplay written by Flanagan with Jeff Howard. It is based on Stephen King's 1992 novel of the same name, long thought to be unfilmable.[1] The film stars Carla Gugino and Bruce Greenwood as a married couple who arrive at an isolated house for a holiday. When the husband dies of a sudden heart attack, his wife, left handcuffed to the bed without the key and with little hope of rescue, must find a way to survive, all while battling her inner demons.

Part of me has always wondered if her mom ever found out what her father did to her, and how much she internalized it. Her mom seemed too caught up in that boat trip than her daughter's anxiety. So some part of me is wondering if her mom ever did find out, how their relationship went from there, if her mom blamed her, or if she took a good hard look at herself and became a better mom and listened to her after that.
I had gone through something similar in my first year of college, and I thank God every day that my mom has been here for me ever since. I can't say the same for my father since I haven't really spoken to him about it. My stepmom has been really supportive of me as far as I can tell. She's been through similar things as well, and has overcome addictions because of past experiences so I guess I just sense a bit of a kindred spirit with her. We don't really talk due to living in different states and being busy, but when we do, there's this sense of respect and a bit of a protectiveness of her at least on my part as protective as I am of my birth mom.

He wasn't just a representation, though. He was real. She just used him as a way of projecting her past trauma on since her dad and partner are already gone. He is someone who is still here, and he is going to prison, so she both survived him and can "get over" her trauma by getting rid of him from her life.

No sh*t it's a movie. That was never up for debate. Please stop projecting onto others and gain some perspective of your own about the real world. Its a story, about true events. A horrible horrible trauma. A REAL victim coming forward and an actress portraying the same trauma is absolutely no different, you acting like it is disgusts me. Its meaning is NOT and never was under speculation, its a blantant fact, if youve ever actually seen the movie, if not dont speak on smth you know nothing about.
And I am allowed to comment on things I see in the comments, especially things i have an issue with. Kinda the rules of youtube, ya know? And you have no right to dictate any of that.
You responding this way and defending people only commenting on her looks and being misogynistic speaks volumes about you and what you stand for and I have nothing more to say to someone with such gross beliefs.

Just seeing this I would never ever watch it! If you ever lived in horror you would never want to watch it. I will never understand people who like horror moves like this. Do you want to live in fear? Do they like abuse. Do they not know what real fear is? I mean I watched the walking dead and vampire moves but this kind of monster really live!

Well, I believe it is more important to learn about real monsters rather than fake ones... Knowing about the dangers of the world is what helps us to familiarize ourselves with it and detect them, to prevent real-life possible danger... it is also created to honor the victims. Their story must be told, and we should learn about their sacrifice, struggles, and bravery because that's the least they deserve, recognition. We should not live in fear, but it is impossible to keep ourselves in a little box to not see such monsters, so you better learn how to live and, most importantly, survive with them.

@lindakeel1173 I'm so sorry to hear that. I didn't watch this movie, but I believe the form this man took was to represent the way victims may feel about their fears. I just thought it was important for others to see how survivors may feel and how strong they are for overcoming it. I'm sure you are strong too! There's many horror movies where the bad guy seems innocent as well. This just teaches us that monsters come in different forms, whether expected or not.

@@KS-tp1um I understood that from this short clip. I also understand that when I was little and terrified because it was adult men they were very big monsters to me. As I got older or I should say when it got to a point that death would be welcomed I wasn't afraid anymore. I do have things that trigger things of my past but I still stand by my point. Child trafficking is bigger money than drugs. To me this movie should have never been made. I would not want my worst enemy to go through the terror that I experienced. This is only my opinion but just based on real experiences.

You haven’t watched the film if you think she “thrives” in abuse. She’s saved from the abuse that you were about to see on screen but has dealt with shit men for a very long time. She was a superhero who had a deep message within the film and comics. Her daughter lashes out towards her because she had a long list of childhood trauma that was seeded around her mother keeping her in horrible situations and instead of her mother healing her trauma she turned to being an alcoholic. She very much didn’t “thrive”. She did what a lot of people do who unfortunately face SA and domestic abuse where they still put their face on every day but are either heavily medicated with drugs or drink away to numb their true pain. It’s common in many households throughout the world. She had a part of her die when she was abused and lived on with a great void that was filled with addiction and being mean towards others since she never took the time to heal.

Long story short, this lady goes to a cabin in the woods to respark her romance with the grey haired man, they get to the cabin and they are the only people in miles, they see a stray dog on their way in and she feels for it so she gives it some of their steak they brought with them. The guy gets mad but brushes it off as he wants to get freaky with his wife, and so they go upstairs, he says he wants to try something new and takes a viagra, handcuffs her to the bed and starts getting really rough, she yells at him to stop and he won’t until he starts to not feel well and have a heart attack and die right on top of her because of the viagra, she pushes his body off her and onto the floor. She hears something coming in the house and remembers she forgot to close and lock the front door and the bedroom door is open, that same stray dog walks in the room and starts to eat the dead husband. She starts getting delirious from trauma, and starts hallucinating him being mean but truthful about how he felt about their marriage, basically saying he resented her and she wasn’t good enough for him, she tried to escape but can’t and the only thing she has is a half full glass of water and her delusions. Anyway she starts reliving her trauma about how her dad used to touch her inappropriately, the first brown haired man you see after they start switching the characters, and Kate at night while she’s hallucinating she hears something come in the house again, and instead of the dog it’s the “moonlight man” that freaky lookin dude at the beginning. She thought he was a hallucination hence him saying back to her “you’re not real, you’re only made of moonlight” and he ended up stealing her wedding ring off her finger and putting it inside a box with other weird little trinkets and he leaves. Eventually she escapes and hears about this man who was in the area and he dug up corpses, raped them and ate them and then took their belongings. When she goes to his trial she goes with the intent of saying to him she wasn’t afraid of him, and that represented all the horrible men in her life. Pretty good movie, I recommend you watch, it’s called Gerald’s game.

Real ones didn't fit.
