I'm a Liverpool fan, and I constantly find myself getting migraines after listening to united fans talking bollocks. But I've got to speak up here and say that this is a rare case of united fanism that doesn't occur too often. I have only met 1 united fan with a condition this bad. But most united fans, do have some level of knowledge and common sense. Some even have a decent level, to the stage where you can have a conversation. But this guy, and the guy I know, they have been licking windows since a very very young age. I personally think they should be under constant supervision as they are a danger to others. This unfortunate mighty reds fan was nearly lobotomised having to listen to it. Hope he's okay, such a brave man #YNWA

Most of Scholes game was boosting his passing accuracy stat. Once in a blue moon hed go for a low risk long ball into space (rarely ever meaningful) but Stevie was doin defence splitting hollywood balls on the regular.

Tbf the United fan was talking out his arse but Vidic did do it at the highest level for about 7/8 years where as Van Dijk had 2 very good seasons before his injury. Scholes is more naturally gifted than Gerrard but Stevie G could drag any team through the mud with his drive and all round ability (bit like Bryan Robson did for Utd)

As for Scholes.
Gerrard was a better shooter a better tackler a better at heading the ball a better assister and a better goalscorer.
Scholes was definitely better at dribbling and maybe had a better first touch due to low center of gravity. His dribbling ability maybe makes up for Gerrard's s superiority in the air.
Then there is passing and yes Scholes could ping long balls for fun but have you seen Steven Gerrard's range of passing? Stevie has nothing to be jealous of Paul in terms of passing. In addition, Gerrard was a powerhouse of a midfielder and super versatile. He could play all central midfield positions (as dm an attacking midfielder box to box) he was more than capable as a right-winger in a 442 even as a right back. Scholes was great at controlling a game as good as anyone tony kroos Alonso you name it, but I'd take Gerrard's ability to offer in a variety or roles every day.
But at the end of the day, they are quite different players and I don't think it is fair to compare them. Gerrard was more similar to Frank Lampard than paul scholes
I agree with most of what you said, but are you seriously going to compare Steve's range of passing to scholes?!!! Paul Scholes is literally one of the top 3 best passers of all time in football history. There's not a pin in a haystack he couldn't find with a pass.

@@sajmon8857 I can see what you're saying. For me I think it's a matter of dominating different eras. Liverpool of the 70's and 80's were legendary but Man U were a modern dynasty in the 90's and 00's. Had it not been for city, I think Liverpool would've dominated the last 4-5 years and started a potential new dynasty. I think this season will tell us a lot about the potential future of both clubs with Man U on an upward trajectory and Liverpool who seem to be plateauing and possibly on the downward.
