We're loving that front three 😍
why Shearer didn't pick newcastle player 'Dan burn' he is backbone for newcastle now
@@MrTumbark Burn's def should be in the conversation, but it's never happening
@@MrTumbark cause it would be a waste of breath
@@edtcreative he pick dier i can't believed it 😁
fikayo tomori not even getting a mention is disgraceful, imagine going to the most defensively iconic country, dropping their captain, winning the league, being named in the Serie A best XI at CB and having one of the best defenders in football history, maldini heap praise on you. but eric dier who plays in a back 3 gets in a head of you 😂
I agree absolute disgrace that is😂
Shut the fuck up honestly seria a is a shit league put Maguire in there he would be the best cb
Actually this season Tomori has been really out of form for AC Milan and hasn’t played well for England recently. He’s also a more aggressive player than other defenders so in a two at the back can’t play next to Stones (they’re both error prone) or Maguire (not aggressive or fast enough). He just doesn’t fit England unless they do play three at the back or have a sweeper, but they have neither.
Chris smalling went over to seria a and you seen the reaction people saying how good he is and all he was shit in the prem
Also white. Stones has played less, and at rb and not as good as white but he's still in the team?? Stupid 🤦
Ben white has been so solid how he’s not up for suggestion blows my mind
My thoughts exactly!
So stupid isn’t it, clueless yet they are saying about not playing club football, yet walker not play of injury, trippier fair play I get that, TAA has looked not himself this season but yeah I get it he can produce class moments, but Ben white has been mint every game and sits with his club at the top of the league again whilst being one of the main guys, AND can play centre back 🤯
The thing is you can’t take everyone. You have to take the best and the most suitable for England
But he’s been playing rb for most of the season and there a better cbs in the team
@@WrinklyMusician Can play in midfield as well, according to the leaks he's in, but no Maddison. 😠
Choosing Eric dier over white and tomori automatically negates the whole team
@@kb5509 white is only playing rb because of Saliba doesn’t mean he isn’t good playing there. Arsenal conceded the 3rd fewest goals last season. Eric dier has never been good, he has that maguire bozo genes so I don’t get why you think he is better than those 2.
@@kb5509 Diers been playing very well? You're not a spurs fan are you, he was decent last season but hes been poor this year. Gave the goal away at the weekend his defending on the xhaka goal was laughable aswell, he's also in the middle of a back 3.

@@samuelwhitcombe9744 “white was poor last season playing at CB” and this is why you should watch other teams play and not just your team. @@MM-sc9vg If you are play Stones, your the other CB has to be someone who is more dominant in the air and stronger physically. Dier and Maguire belong to this category of CB.
Carra clearly hasn’t been watching many Newcastle games. Trippier has been unbelievable
And he's a good leftback, played it for Athletico as well. Carra's always been a bit clueless, Shaw over Trippier? 🤦♂
@@a-walpatches6460 I agree with Carra here. Against Iran who you will expect to be more defensively, it will be better to have a left-footed LB in the team. A right-footed LB will tend to cut inside where there's already so many opposing defenders crowding the middle of the field.
Typical overhyping England players. Trippers a decent full back, I wouldn't call him unbelievable.
Luke Shaw has found his form and we know when he is on form he can be so so good. I don't think any LB in England is better than Shaw at the moment
@@liam5382 He's been the best fullback in the league for Newcastle imo. James is a better player but not on current form and he's out anyway.
White, Tomori, Trippier all playing out of their skin. Imagine Toney and Ward Prowse, Tripper, Kane and Trent as our spot kick takers 🔥
Toney is busy at Paddy Power. Forget him?
Can't lie, I'd take Trippier this season over any full back except a healthy Reece James.

Yet again Tomori being disregarded. He is England's best CB right now. Should be Stones & Tomori...

@@ragegamer21p14 that's fair but Tomori is easily the best CB pairing with Stones mate
They dont watch Serie A. All they watch is the Milan games against English teams in the UCL.
@@lfclfc5683 Tomori was class last season, he hasn't been it this year. Still take him but not our best one
Stop looking at where milan are in the league and actually watch his performance. It is all hyped up and mainly thing about him is his recovery. But he does make errors
Trippier is phenomenal, feels like he got tarred with the brush of being one of Southgate's favourites and not being as glamorous as the likes of TAA and R James when they first emerged, but he is so reliable and the most rounded full back we have available. He has also done it abroad and under four different managers now. One of the first names on the teamsheet imo.
Is that you Kieran
@@bobbypukes605 bit of a strange response to me praising a player who has just been objectively good for a consistent period of time. Maybe if A.Arnold didn’t hand out goals to his opponents like Christmas presents I’d be saying the same about him, but hey ho, don’t expect any logical reasoning from a Liverpool fan.
I agree with everything you said up until the last sentence, cos he’s only one of the first names on the team sheet because Walker and Reece James are injured and Trent is off form. If this World Cup was played back in the summer when the three I’ve just mentioned were all at the peak of their powers I think trippier barely gets in the squad (or doesn’t- he only made the euros squad because Trent was injured imo)
As a Spurs fan I completely agree… Trippier was a big loss for us, I actually preferred him over Walker.

Rooney was unbelievable for a few years but it seems to be forgotten just how bad he was for England at times, especially in tournament football. Once he lost his pace and some of his aggressiveness he tried to become an all round player that did a bit of everything, and he wasn't what he once was. I always feel that he was generally much, much better for United than he was in an England shirt. Unfortunately, Wayne peaked really early and once he was approaching his late 20's he was already well and truly on the decline, though still a very good player. Just not the monster he was.
it happes to a lot of players as they get older ..lose their aggressiveness etc as they get older and managers seem to give them a different role
Is there a player that has played better for eng than there club? I can only think maguire lol think man united team was better than any England team of the time so lack of quality players around him prob why he didn't show up that much,, think Messi no where as good for Argentina than he was for barca,, but rooney goat still best player ive ever watched but all opinion really!

Still could do 433 just have two players holding instead of one to make it more defensive the thing about 433 it can give u abit of rotation if used correctly cause it can be defensive depending on what u tell the players to do and can be attacking that formation is just depending on the instructions nd what the players get told to do
Laura woods is a sight to behold
She wishes to be a man though talking about men’s football all the time. Explains why she still hasn’t had kids yet at 35 years old
I'm gutted for James Ward-Prowse. If he had been signed by a top 7 club he'd be in the squad. He's such an underrated player. How can Henderson be in and Prowse not!? Henderson isn't playing regularly, where as Prowse is and is saints club captain aswell. Set peices are quality too. real shame.
He is probably the best freekick taker in the epl atm aswell
Henderson has won everything. The point to be disgusted over is how is Kalvin Phillips going? Hasnt kicked a ball all season for the most part. IMO Ward-Prowse shouldve been on the plane in his spot. If not him, then Harvey Elliot. Maguire and Phillips taking the places of two more deserving and in-form players IMO. Namely; Ward-Prowse and either Tomori or Tarkowski.
He’s a set piece merchant, Still useful to have in the squad though.
Set pieces he’s fantastic but other than that he’s very average. There’s a reason he’s not been picked up by one of the big boys especially given the premium of having English players in your squad.

The ‘we did well to get to the final’ attitude is why we consistently lose!
Southgate has overall done a good job as manager (relatively) BUT he’s also blown two massive opportunities. Ahead against Croatia and no game plan. Ahead against Italy with both their aged centre backs on yellow cards and he played it safe. Whenever we have hosted a big tournament we’ve always got to at least the semi finals!
Ben White best english defender this season and that is a stone cold fact!
No chat about Tomori is outrageous
Sterling carried the scoring for England at the Euros and everyone was bashing him for starting and he proved everyone wrong
No he didn't. He did nothing in the final, absolutely nothing and didn't even step up to take 1of the first 5 pens in the shootout so why he stayed on I don't know.
Laura Woods is a class act. Love her, great at what she does.
Can't disagree with the majority of the team but I'd be picking stones alongside Ben White. And tripper at right back. Midfield and forward positions I'm happy with, but against Iran, probably play maddison
carragher is full of it.... cause someone played a game in champs lg he goes on like they are on another level. he always does this. does this whenever talking about best sides, cause utd and city can say about winning leagues

Take it from a Spurs fan, Dier in a two is a disaster. He's still got a mistake in him in a back three, but in a two he's a car crash
Trippier should be nailed on starting rb by a mile and I’m a Liverpool fan. He’s the most well rounded choice. Great at set pieces, great defensively, experience and a leader. He’s a slightly worse offensively version of Trent but far more well rounded

I'm glad to see carra respecting Luke Shaw this season, he's worked his way back into the Utd team against an inform malacia and hes been solid basically every game since then
I'd say pick the best ball playing midfielders in the big games too; give the opposition something to think about other than when they'll finally break through our defence and whether they'll win 1-0 or 2-0. But Southgate, Carragher and Shearer all disagree I think! If they think we're not gonna win anyway, why not just go for it though? Someone like Maddison in a big game, could (doesn't mean would) unlock something, and could give England the chance to be the proactive team, creating more chances in general. Having three DMs or something seems negative to me. Just my opinion though.

The tripper after athletico and the trippier before athletico shows how much Simeone improves players
Against the tough opponents its gonna be 3 at the back with coady. He´s been there for the team in the dressing room so hes gonna give it his all on the pitch as well.
Then two midfielders, with rice as the more holding option so the wing backs can go high. And bcs of the work ethic youd then most likely bring Mount, Henderson, or Trent as a box to box player, maybe even gallagher for the same reason, bcs bellingham would be too offensive there again.
And then you´d wanna go for quick transitions, so then you may wanna put in Rashford in the starting line up on the left. Kane for hold up play. And maddison on the right bcs of his straightforward mentality and bcs it brings this fluidity on the right side.
Not Carragher downplaying Trippiers individual talents based off group achievements. Could someone tell him Newcastle are above Spurs, Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool, AND his beloved Everton. Trippier is a huge reason why, and assisted our only goal in the euros final. Short memory clearly
Scored the only goal vs Croatia too
You have probably done it with Stevie Gerrard for your whole life and probably laugh that hes never won the league. If not, look how many idiots do level that at Stevie Gerrard. When in reality, he was the best midfielder England has ever produced. Its a fucking stupid argument. Teams win trophies. I disagree with Carra. But think Kyle Walker is still ahead of Trippier at RB. But Trippier has to be LB for me. At least in the absence of Chilwell due to injury. I would have Trent on the right of a midfield three. He is world class. No England player possesses his quality from crosses or passes from his right foot. He is an assist machine. His vision and passing is that of a De Bruyne. Has to be in the team for me.

I'd go 4231 in that 1st game
Pickford
Trippier Stones Tomori Shaw
Rice, Bellingham
Saka Madison Foden
Kane
it's not just about picking who deserves to be there compared to others in their position, it's about who complements each other. If you have Kane up top you'd ideally have two runners in behind him from each wide area. Saka, Foden, Grealish etc none of them are that type. Saka and Foden are quick but they like the ball to feet. So it's imperative to have full backs who can overlap and provide width/threaten with runs out wide. So Trippier at left back would be stupid, he's fine there individually but doesn't complement who we have. I'm not a fan of Shaw or Rashford but both complement Kane's style, as does Sterling who I'm not a fan of either. Only way around this is if Kane wasn't the no.9, no chance that's happening. Unless you play Kane no.10 and put someone with pace at no.9
Yeah. Sterling or Rashford on the left, Shaw at LB are necessities

I think if Walker is to play he has to play some part v USA or Wales or what is the point of taking him?
Phillips is another who has to play to be considered come the knock out stages to stiffen midfield and provide more protection to back 3 or 4 v better opposition.
My 11 pick
