In addition, we will demonstrate how to field strip and reassemble the gun for cleaning and inspection. Range performance will also be discussed along with different tested methods of carry and how comfortable it is to carry on a regular basis. Last, we will provide an overall opinion of how this firearm stacks up for concealed carry purposes. Thanks for watching!

I bought the original P228, while stationed at Fort Meade, MD in the early 90's. We went on a tour of the ATF facility in Rockville, MD and their service pistol was the P228 and I got to hold one. Instantly, I was in love and my Private's Pay eventually got me one and they weren't cheap, $700, 31 years ago was definitely more of a bite than $700 today, but of course these pistols are now over $1,000. I've bought more SIGs and HKs than any other brand, Glock might be simple and functional, but it won't ever compare in aesthetics or just feeling like you bought something you can be proud of than a SIG all metal pistol.

I could not agree more. I feel like Glocks are useful and reliable but nothing compares to the feel metal. I am a bit of an HK and SIG fan myself. Thanks for sharing.

I am not or ever been team Glock. The quality and simplicity is far superior with the Sig . I had always wanted the M11-A1 for many reasons then while searching found the P-229 in .40sw I feel that I ended up with the best of both worlds. I also am a big fan of double, single hammer guns over striker fire. Therefore I also like the M11-A1, P-229 Sig over the modern Sig military version

Love mine, bought it with extra pay from the LA riot. I took it to use as a primary pistol at Gunsite training ground, the P228 performed perfectly and there was a Manly Man bond grew there, probably Cooper’ s last class. His wife, a great Lady. Over cost, used red China 9mm - within each mag, one stovepipe.

The M11-A1 has both of SIGs SRTs. The Short Reach Trigger, thinner and excellent for smaller hands and the Short Reset Trigger with far less travel to reset. The Short Reset Trigger is actually a sear and safety kit, it does not alter the trigger at all.

M11-A1 = 13 rounds with stock mag. You can buy Mec Gar extended mags. P228 is basically same as M11-A1. P239 = 8 round single stack. Extended mags not available. P225A1 is also a similar choice. @@TheConcealedCarryChannel I don’t think there would be enough difference to tell, my reset looks the same as yours. I have a 229C and has the standard reset. I can shoot it better, but I had it longer.it’s a 40 I bought a 357 barrel for it.

I just couldn't do an M11-A1 without the LG-429M MIL-STD (waterproof) Crimson Trace lasergrips developed for the SEALs. They do make for just a bit bigger handful than the stock grips, but the better grip texture is still a net gain, and lasergrips on handguns are just a great thing to have for the worst case where you've got one chance to get an accurate shot off in low-vis, weak-handed and upside-down when you're already hit, half-concious and bleeding. +1 for Crossbreed IWB! For OWB, I prefer the Fobus Tactical Roto-Paddle, crossdraw with this gun. (I only do passive retention.)

I have one. It’s a full sized pistol that weighs almost two pounds. They call it compact but it’s not. I consider it too heavy to carry concealed. Compare it to a Glock 26 that gives you as good of performance but is much smaller and lighter. Or a Sig 365XL. Or a Glock 43X. All three carry up to 15 rounds if you want that many rounds, but are smaller and lighter.

The M11 is a decent pistol, but not really any better than the M9. I carried both in the Army. it was really a dumbass idea to go to the sig after the Army had gone to the M9 because the mags were not interchangeable . I was boarding a Stryker one time in Iraq when a Major was getting on...we had to lock and load....but he had grabbed M9 mags and they would not fit in his sig. I thought the M9 was safer for poorly trained pistol users because of the safety...but overall in the US Army, a pistol is just a decoration.

It actually came off the second time I cleaned it. I always rub a bit of oil into the finish after I clean the gun, and it fell right off.

I am a Glock Guy but NOT a Sig Hater. Having said this, I must say that Glock was and is my all time #1 Combat/self defense pistol and that is why my Duty Weapon was the G19, 3rd Generation for over 10 years, until my retirement. I now carry as my EDC a G43 with a 7 round magazine or sometimes my new G48! Sig makes a great Gun and will always be second best but Glock will always be the King!

Dude, I am a glock nut and a sig nut but the sig p365 is better than the g43 in every way. Better sights, better trigger, better frame, more rounds, the xl is optics ready if you're into that. I carried a g19 and g26 before my p365. My two I carry now are just my g19 and p365.

Glock is just an average quality, overpriced pistol. A G19 shouldn't cost the end user more than $250-$300. The masses are just easily brainwashed....or generally brain dead! Glock=average at best.

@@markedman3990 yea I literally can say that between my m&p 2.0, Glock 19, and ruger sr9c I used to have. They all felt and shot the same. But they are all built the same out of plastic. So what do you expect? It’s like the new chevys vs the old box chevys. That aluminum is junk compared to the steel they used to use.
