- A highlight from my last stream before Christmas, featuring the Italian powerhouse Leone, truly a Destroyer to be respected. I never use sarcasm on my stream so you should take all my comments very seriously.

Those are Starshells Flamu with 10m wide parachutes strapped at the back, best part is they are also HE shells. IJN Starshells got nothing on these Italians. Always onestep ahead, Japan would have been wrecked by the Italians in night battles. Who would have thought they designed HE starshells, holyshit!
Sarcastic Flamu is best Flamu. You should have tried AP for the plunging fire. I see hidden potential there. :-D

Those arcs though, perhaps if Flamu fired AP at the Hood, the insane plunging fire might as well have detonate the Hood, as a further insult to those 4 fires + historical accuracy.

you see by creating shells that circumnavigate the globe the Regia Marina can employ Coriolis force so that their shells hit harder

They should do a missile ship event somehow, the engine is already there they just have to adapt the targeting systems and give players a way to manually defend their ships from incoming missiles
After watching this, hitting shells with an atlanta seems so easy mode

see the ballistics are that way because the shells need to have a gelato break in mid air, otherwise they'll switch sides and you'll do team damage.

They are trebuchets FYI.
The Italians actually found that their catapults fired too slow of shells and thus equipped Minekaze guns, but with slower reload.

It is very good idea actually. You shoot the shells to the orbit first, then they descend upon enemy from above. No way of enemy expecting them directly above. Because of this,they don't even try to dodge. ITALIAN GENIUS.
And you bypass the armor that way.

This ship should go straight to loot crates as a skill-based reward for elite gamblers. It is far, far too broken to be sold in the shop.
This guns need cone of prediction, like torpedoes.
WG made a ship that has higher shell velocity than the Stalingrad, is faster than Le Terrible, has higher DPM than the Harugumo+Yamamoto+Kraken combo, has better smoke screens than the Gearing, and literally comes with 12km Shima torps that have Z-52 levels of reload, all while being tier 6, and they call it balanced?

And I thought Wargaming hated the Germans. Clearly some Italian Stallion seduced this designers one and only.
This makes German 105mm look good by comparison.
At least it has a lot of guns, you can hold down left mouse button so you hit at least some of the time.

The smoke screen duration is spot on, tailored to the shell flight time. Once smoke runs out, the first salvoes are starting to land. Enemies are helpless now because they can no longer see the smoke where you were shooting them from and meanwhile you are in a totally different position already! Genius!

Apparently the Leone-class were originally designed as light scout cruisers for the Italian battle line in 1917, but rearmed & reassigned as large destroyers for WWII. Naturally they have the same catapult shell trajectory as the WW1 guns on the Yorck & slower speed as a result. Those Italians XD
Took them long enough to add realistic plunging fire mechanics, glad to see they got it working.

The Italians surely launched those shells with spaghetti instead of gunpowder. The shells also pack some spaghetti and limoncellos as warheads to ensure the highest possibility of setting fires to the enemy ships. Oh, and I also forgot to mention, these HE shells also spills out pizzas covering the enemy ships on impact to make the enemy ship totally un-sail-able.

Just like the mighty Haragumo the Leone can fire a salvo and before the shells land fire the next. At tier 6 that is truly overpowered.
first time in history of naval warfare, shells with parachute, you fire them as normal shells, then in mid air they deploy the parachute and become mighty mines just waiting to explode on you.. the fear factor alone is enogh to make this OP AF..
I have seen parachute flares before, never realised anyone thought fitting parachutes to shells was also a good idea.

If WG is going to release such OP ships as this the least they can do is add a scuttle charge consumable for the rest of us. I know if I ran into one of these I would prefer to sink myself in a timely fashion and move on to the next match. It would be the only sane counter to this rabid beast.

Wargaming introduced a new shell type.... distress flares!!! Almost looks like the kind with the little parachutes. That’s why the fire chance is so good.

It's an overpowered powerhouse at Tier minus-three. However, you deserve an award for being able to give this review with a straight face.
Also, is it just me or does the dispersion appear pretty tight? Or is that just a function of the guns being so far apart that the toeing-in corrects any dispersion issues?
You know its for real when your target isnt even on your screen, from the amount of lead needed!

In reality, Italians had some of the best destroyers in the world during WWII... It's the main reason why the German and French Navies went crazy with the secondaries on their battleships.
