Let me say this...she's on to something with the super low manipulation and just leaving your hair alone. It reduces breakage, locks in moisture and promotes length retention. My hair went from shoulder length to bra strap length in no time due to that small change. I'm here for it!

She has beautiful hair! I have long hair too, working on tailbone length, and I use no products whatsoever. I live in mini twists at least 75% of the time, though. So there are multiple paths to the same goal.

@Lauren No not even shampoo and conditioner. It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve used either. The most I’ve done in about 20-21 months is occasional rosewater which I also use on my face, and 1 aloe scalp treatment with just the aloe leaf plant. I plan to do my face and scalp with aloe plant soon as an extra pampering. But all my regular routine hair care is done with water from my shower filter or distilled water. No creams, oils, gels, leave-ins, shampoo, or conditioner whatsoever. Hair still smells fresh, stays strong, no splits, easy to manipulate and manage, not dry. And super easy I have no complaints in almost 2 years now.

I hate to be a Debbie downer. All the comments are so supportive. But I strongly believe hair grows best from a clean scalp. Weekly is for me and I’ve received major growth. Once hair it set it isn’t touched for the week. I keep my hair in all stretched styles. My hair had retained an additional 10 inches in the last 2 years. This number also accounts for trims post my big chop in 2018. I’ll be here 👀ing.

If you guys can’t do 3 months like her ...do box braids with just your hair and wash your scalp..don’t shampoo your strands..then when your scalp drys moisturize your hair strands redo the braids
I think if I tried this I would do two weeks if I went past that my scalp would be soar, it would be a challenge for me also because I love doing my hair 😫🥴 I wash usually every 6-7 days usually.

I've been going longer after watching her and it seems ur hair gets use 2 it. I use 2 wash 1 a week...now I go 3 weeks. I dont put anything on my scalp though. When we were relaxed we barely washed it lol
naturalpn7 when I was younger I got washed once a week with a relaxer usually my mother sometime went two weeks, once a week doesn’t bother me I like doing my hair.

Very excited to see the results, your hair is super healthy. I just started stretching my washes from every 2 weeks to 1 month and I must admit the low manipulation yielded great results in the first method. If I do stretch to every 3 months ( which I’m not ready for 😂) I’ll have to find a healthy no water method to keep my scalp clean and hair smelling fresh 🌸

I am with you on this experiment Sis! I currently have my natural braided (defined parts) under my wig. Most of the time it is just under my scarf since I teach (virtual) and No need to pop a wig on less I am going outside! I removed my cornrows the other day and completely finger-detangled my whole entire head. Use the rat tail comb for my parts and that was it! Gonna hold out until December to wash my hair. Will rinse my braids occasionally while showering my low-med density 4ab hair can DEF handle that.

A lil kind advice, use a diffuser nozzle(any kind) when vlow drying hair. Direct heat w/o one can damage hair.
If you want to see for yourself, use blow dryer with and without on a dolls hair and you will see how it burns.

great video, for some like me I waited 2 months and oiled it but the oils with dirty hair caused acne and I never have acne 36 years of living. My hair grew but matted and broke me out. So just keep those things in mind for doing this process, wash face morning and night keep hair from face - dirty with oils can be pimples.

You have very beautiful hair! Your hair probably grows faster when you are not applying any chemicals on it, like surfactants and preservatives, both are common ingredients found in most shampoos and conditioners. If you "wash" your hair with chemical-free products it would grow twice as fast.

If you look up long kinky hair chad in Africa you'll see a video of a woman sharing the hair secrets of an ethnic group in chad. This particular group has a hair route using a thing called chebe but they use it to grow out their long hair, and their genetics aren't the reason for their long hair. They don't wash their hair. They just constantly moisturize their hair and add water, so I feel like not washing your hair isn't as foreign as some people may think.

@@solaadeakin8338 i washed with shampoo once every week/every two weeks, oiled my scalp & hair with coconut oil and put it in a bun until the next wash. i also rinsed my scalp with onion water before shampooing and massaged it in

Three months without washing your hair. WOW. Are you going to use anything to clean your scalp. No judgement just curious. My head smells if I go 3 week without cleaning it. I can't imagine 3 months.
I don't have odor but after 5 weeks or so I have dryness due to butter and oil build up and eventually itching.
Hey! My scalp doesn’t really accumulate buildup. Whenever I moisturize my hair I focus applying putting the products onto my actual hair strands rather than my scalp.

@@NaturalAcademia I should clarify that it's my strands that accumulate buildup from oils and eventually get dry and too difficult to moisturize after too many weeks without washing, not my scalp. And because my strands are fine, my strands glob onto the buildup and tangle around it, causing knots. Not pretty. Just multiple ways to cause breakage for me so I try to wash once a month. Nice for those who can go longer. I was just commenting to say even when I go longer than a month, odor isn't a prob for me. It's other reasons particular to my hair type why I don't do it. 👍🏿
