Love how you show that you don't need a lot of expensive products to grow healthy hair and maintain it. Keep doing what you are doing to help naturals who are on a budget and feel like their hair will never grow if they do not purchase all the fancy products the natural hair community is advertising. God bless.

I did this for 4 months but washed, deep conditioned and did a protein treatment to my hair whilst it was still in cornrows every month. I was actually aiming for 6 months but I could feel the buildup on my roots was going to be a problem whenever I was going to take it down.
I think all the washing probably caused my roots to matte up a little bit. I took my time to take my cornrows down, I was doing one cornrows per day after work. I recommend that if you are going to do this, wash your hair less often like she did. I manage to retain about 4 inches during those 4 months though. I used my own homemade aryuverdic oils.

Water or a water based cream, Shea butter mixed with Soultanicals hair growth oil and dax grease (I heavily seal because this uk weather is bad vibes) are all I use to moisturise and seal now and I finger detangle and it’s been working tremendously. Girl you can rock that look for a week or even two! Yaass!! I need to challenge myself to leave my hair alone for weeks at a time. Normally my hair is in twists, but I have some issues retaining moisture a little bit so I’m finding what products work. So far the sunny isle whipped Shea butter w/ extra virgin olive oil has been moisturizing. Just need another moisturizer on top of that. I’m just excited to still be fully natural without picking up a flat iron 😜

But I’ve been doing better I keep them in for 2 months and then take it down do a treatment and wash it really good and back in a protective style. I have seen a tremendous amount of growth doing this for the last 2 years. I transitioned for about a year in a half (2018). I big chopped in April! And I’ve seen more growth honestly!! I love it!!
