- I built a Chicken Coop and I'm calling it Cluckingham Palace. This is a custom built structure that wraps around a tree in my backyard. It matches the farmhouse style and color scheme of the workshop.

Cluckingham Palace is a total chick magnet! Great job!!
If you're not following Bens Instagram, you're missing out, he pretty much did hourly updates of this coop
Have not even finished watching but had to let you know: the end result looks sweeeeettt!!!
Love your 4-legged helpers!
Cluckingham Palace - too funny! Chicks are so cute! And what a palace they have!!! Can't imagine boss lady wanting to buy a pre-fab when she has a Ben around! She was probably trying to challenge you to make something wonderful. Looking awesome, dude! Can't wait to see the finished product! Love the technical difficulties!
Seems like her motivation was to rush me to start building it 🤣
Yay! The chicken coop build! You are so amazingly thorough on every detail.
You crushed it!
During the voice overs I just imagine him sitting in that little room in his workshop. Great video!
Always check with the boss lady first! Saves time and energy!
Later, the boss lady wants another floor on the house, a basement dug and a space station overhead.
Outstanding!!
It was so satisfying when you cut perfect notches into the rafters and fitted them
My goodness, what a chicken coop? So much detail and experience 👏👏👏
Boss Lady, you chose well. LOL
I’ve been dreaming of owning chickens for a long time, my husband is not on board , you are a strong young man and very handy, love 💕 your puppies
Looking great. I love the time and cost inclusion. I feel this is more important to include than many realize.
Production quality thru the roof
Cant say enough about your skills for building planning and execution! All this for just six chickens!
Only the best for those little ladies!
Wow. I’m in awe. I can’t believe how you just worked this out on the fly! You are so talented. Amazing use of space. Beautiful design. Friendly helpers. Thanks for sharing!
P.s. would it be possible to put plexiglass over door for light-instead of wood?
Heh. I’m about 85% finished with building a chicken tractor I designed. We’ve got plenty of space so I decided to go mobile and not have to deal with a fixed coop with a dirt floor. Let the hens run weed and insect control and fertilize. Wood prices are insane. Project should’ve cost $200-300, but I stopped counting at like $700. Also, you should check out a Kreg pocket hole jig. I’ve got the new model and a little portable one you can clamp in place. Both are invaluable and make strong joints so much easier.
I like the design
Internet: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Ben: Cluckingham Palace 😂😂
Awesome Video as usual!! 👏👏✨It's so great to see how you can do so much alone. I can barely cut a straight line alone! 🤣😁 Doofie is a great soccer guard!👍👍😎😷
Now I'm embarrassed for the chicken coop we build for our chickens. Je,je...
You did a great job 👏on the coop and the name it's just perfect.
Cluckingham Palace 😂😎 cool
Building a chicken coop and keeping the dogs entertained. You had your hands full. lol
Me and my family are currently building a chicken coop. Ours cost about $1,200. Cute chicks
Been waiting for this 👏
Ben I love your coop. It is one of the nicest I have seen. The L-shape really makes it stand out and also your attention to detail. By any chance do you have plans for your design?
Very nice very nice, I envy you your skills and imagination. Take care stay safe 🇨🇦
I love it.
I love this kind of video too. Awesome content.
This rules! It's like an extra tiny house.
Very very nice coop!
Always impresses me how you cut long straight cuts freehand!
Slow and steady!
Amazing! Great videos! Blessings... :)
Catchy name for the coop, I know things went easy with the help of them puppies hahaha God bless
Pedant checking in. "On the up and up" doesn't mean rising. It means that something is legitimate.
Watching you unload all that lumber made me sick! 💰💰 such crazy prices!
Buen vídeo y buen trabajo. Te felicito. Un saludo.
“Next I added wiring so that I can connect the chickens 52 OLED tv” looks good.
Lumber prices are insane. Habitat restore is the place to go
Ben with the current lumber market, one would need a mortgage for a coop like that!!! LOL
Your awesome 😎
with the dogs running around all the time and just how much wood cutting is done, I hope a good vaccuum or dust extractor is high on the priority list for things to get. Don't want to yourself or the dogs to be breathing in so much saw dust.
You need an automatic ball thrower :)
Looking really, really good! Can't wait to see your next installment of this project. Are you going to be composting in the run? Aside from the fresh eggs, this is another benefit of housing those ladies :)
I'm telling you, you need to build an authomatic throwing ball machine for the dogs...
Then I’ll be out of a job!
Every job I do, the wife comes in part way through and starts adjusting the agreed plan.
Try sketchup to show her the plan really clearly. Then maybe she can see different ideas earlier. Learning that software was a game changer for my own project prep too
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE LETS GOOOOOOO
I'm curious, what kind of screws do you use for the strong ties @11:14?
I ask bc every time I use screws for the strong ties they are either too big or too small. I can't seem to find the right size screw for those strong tie holes...
Love the gable roof btw. I'm gonna do a gambrel roof for my 10x20 workshop. Not looking forward to adding the plywood by myself, or even with my friend's help lol
They’re just regular exterior screws. Here, they’re either 1 1/4 or 1 5/8 inch long screws. I think generally you’re supposed to use nails with strong ties but I made a few executive decisions during this build.
Wow. Cluckingham, nod to the uk 🇬🇧 😉
At 1:19 - off topic but, what is the breed of that bantam? The little brown one? We got that one too from tractor supply but they didn't know what breed it was. Thanks in advance! Also, unbelievably beautiful chicken coop!
Are you worried about the wood rotting out on the concrete slab?
The wood that’s in direct contact with the concrete is meant for this type of situation. If I ever do need to swap it out, there is a process to do that. Wouldn’t be easy but definitely possible. Though I don’t anticipate that could be an issue for a very long time
@@BenTardif Are you putting anything else on it or is it just a regular pressure treated board? I have had pressure treated boards split or rot on me still.
Very nice pluckingham calace…sorry I suffer from spoonerism.
Owww que lindo le construire uno para mis pollitos :D saludos de Perú🇵🇪🤗🤗
The dogs lol
ive lost cost was it 5 material runs for this part 1 ? did you include the material runs in your time tally??
You should add ball throws to your hours and money spent count.
The coop is attached to the ground with gravity?
Gravity is free, and it's relentless.
Here in germany the chickens can go outside at day. I hope you will let them out too because this coop isnt big
I wish I would have projects to do like this
I usually just edit videos
your neighbours will love you xD
Especially when I bring them fresh eggs! 🐣
Dang, do you really make enough money from your website to support all of this? I gotta get me an Amazon store..
You didn't finish the coop and never mentioned the total cost of all materials. What kind of wood did you use? You actually made it look even more complicated than what really is.
imagine being able to do a muscle up and using that ability to build a chicken coop😂
What happened to the Florida marble build?
Here do the marbles go? ;)
Wood prices are crazy nower days, so seeing you using whole boards and sheets mostly and not not using the offcuts hurts a little bit. The build looks totally beautyful, but I hope you use the offcuts in the rest of the build. Keep up the good work.
If nothing else I suspect the offcuts will be used in a future marble machine 🙂
Lumber is solid gold nowadays. I don’t throw anything away
How much for this coop?!
Habit for humanity could use someone with your skills
Doggos want to help
In September we are going to look for a house a lot of land so I can have my check. I was wondering if you can come to Ohio and make me one I'll give you money in.
that's a lot of wood for 6 chicken.
I wanna know who the boss lady is. 🤔
When the video began with Cluckingham Palace already built I called you bad names in my head. I should have trusted that you would take us along on the build journey. Me so sorry!!
So pretty, and sad it will all be covered in poop in a week.
This comparison is soo degrading to the chicks. At least they're laying eggs, what are the royals doing? 😭😭😭
Your awesome 😎
