Cluckingham Palace needs a storage shed, but with lumber prices still insanely high, I decided to build it entirely out of scrap material and leftover boards. It may be built unconventional, but it sure looks good! Plus it matches the coop so it looks like it's meant to be there. Enjoy!

I love your dogs, your projects, your videos. Would love to see an overhead drone view of your yard to see the whole thing. You've done so much.
Same! Just need a drone….
Man you're creative...and you make it look so easy! And of course watching the bloopers at the end with your furbabies is always entertaining lol
Awesome job 😁👍
Fierce skills, amazing work ethic, your wife and family are blessed.
That's awesome that you were able to make use of all your scraps. Well done. Speaking as a backyard chicken guy, I suggest keeping all of your feed in one of those galvanized steel garbage cans. It keeps the mice and rats away, and makes it so you're not ready to pull your hair out over all the pests.
Thanks for the tip!
I used that PVC pipe rolling trick to move a big heavy cabinet in the basement a few months ago. Made the move easy peasy. Love how Doofy loves to play ball when daddy is cutting lumber. 😆 Ben, your storage shed is a nice compliment to cluckingham palace.
Great post. I like your use of pvc pipes to move things. If you have non carpeted floors in your home. I use a similar hack with small rugs underneath very heavy dressers and drag them. Works great for painting rooms and getting furniture out of the way.
Lovely shed. Fantastic job and I was sure to take some notes...
The technical difficulties are always the best!
Ben you are amazing, period.
Hola🖐 Ben! Awesome video and perfect timing. My flock of "girls" are about to be 8 weeks old. I'll be able to let then run on the RUN! 😊😆🤣😂😂 I'll have to build a "little" something next to their coop so that I can store their food, treats, etc. ALL I have is scraps so this video is definitely inspiration to come up with something that will work for me. Keep up the good work young man and Have a good one! :D
Excellent use of scraps with top notch results. Love the whole project, especially the way you matched all the outside structures.
So glad you're back!!!
What about the big dogs ball 😢 lol 😆 Everything looks fabulous!! Love watching the process!
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos...thanks for sharing your projects...I live thousands of miles away and I feel like I'm your neighbor :)
Hola🖐 Helder! You made it to Ben's comment of the week, or month, or year - I don't remember BUT he did mention you on IG. If you are not following him on IG you really should, he posts a lot of cool videos there also. Have a good one :D
@@woodworksbygrampies1284 thank you for thr tip... I can't follow Ben on IG because I closed my account... too much publicity... in my opinion, it's no longer an interesting platform to share photos and short videos... it's turned into a vanity circus and a supermarket where the subscribers are the merchandise :)... nothing against those who use and like it, on the contrary, I have a lot of respect for those who use it and feel happy about it :)
@@helderlage sorry to hear that Helder. You take care and wish you the best! 🖐
I'll say this for your apprentice's, they are persistent. Excellent video. Regards Jim UK.
I love your creativity your work was beautiful, but I love to see the dogs want to play with you
Pretty cool!
😂 I knew those dogs were up to something… they were following you around the whole video.
Benny boy them last parts with the dogs is worth the like and sub
WOW just WOW...
Beautiful work. Your dogs are too cute 😊
your dogs can never get enough play time LOL
Gave this a like before even watching 😁 Thank you for sharing you incredible talent!
It been 3 weeks we missed your videos
It’s nice to watch the building for chickens but with almost $3000 for materials excluding time efforts, idk if I want to spend that much for the chickens. Nice work and video editing. Love your video.
Always looking forward to the project progress. It looks so great and on a budget too!
Hehehe dude this went from ghetto to daamn nice in like 10 seconds. I'm impressed
The Corgi wants all the love and attention... Poor other dog :/
Trust me they both get plenty of play time. This is only a snapshot of all the shenanigans that happen during building time 😂
That is one darned persistent Corgi you have there.
I had not seen any of your previous videos so I honestly thought you were talking about your daughters in the beginning.
"welcome to building with doge".
.....which, frankly, is The Best Way To Build.
also, absolutely BRILLIANT job jigsawing. together bits and pieces! that was amazing.
I never seen anyone cut shingles with snips.. 🤣😂🤣
My dog heard his dogs squeak toy and jumped out of a dead sleep to look for his steak toy lol
in the middle of the video u mentioned that the paint in the grass would go away after a few mows. Would you ever get one of those robot lawnmowers?
All of theese can't be for chichens. I can live here... 😄
Didn't your dogs get tired of playing with the ball 😂👍
By the way I'm the ball for my dog 🥴
Are you not worried about the unprotected OSB at the back? I understand your climate is more forgiving than here in the UK, but I still have an uneasy feeling. Cool build video though, especially the door👍
13:43 onwards is what you came for
Did your wife not help you at all?? I would have been all up in your business, I love this stuff!
1 question & 1 comment: Will you add shelves to the interior?; & the exposed OSB on the rear will give me nightmares. I would donate it to you just so I could sleep at night. :) LoL
As of right now there are no shelves but would be really easy to add if needed in the future
Watchin the end just reminds me that you work on the dogs time not your time
They run the show!
If you used scrap how did you calculate it costing almost $3000?
I’m guessing he’s including the non-scrap shed material costs as part of the total cost for the coop project.
That's a running total for the whole chicken coop series. Not just this shed.
Oh ok thanks
I get you are doing this quick Ben but that roof is never going to hold water back. How did you seal the top edge at the peak to the back of the shack? It looks like you just cut the shingles flush with the edge of the roof. Did you add any kind of flashing or peak covering? that roof will be rotted out in 4 years unless it never rains there if you didnt
2927usd?
Just use a utility knife to cut the shingles
I think needs shelves and hangers inside to maximize the storage
Not needed at the moment but easy to add down the road!
You are inspiring, but woe..i am too old now!
165 hours? 2900 bucks? For a small painted wood box?
That includes the whole chicken coop, it makes sense when you watch the whole series
rigmarole is used describe actions not things. :)
Белая краска скроет все косяки.
Is it just me or is this build super expensive? Like 3000 USD is a lot right?
Lumber prices are super high right now. Most, if not all, of this build has been during the inflated prices so the cost is likely 50-100% higher than normal. Hopefully things go back soon.
Healing …
Hi , at 6:30 You put the last big piece of sideing upside down. Then it seems to me that you installed it the right way
wait, the youtube unsubscibe glitch is real guys i was unsubscribed
You’d be surprised how long painted grass will stay painted . I guess the combination of uncut dead grass and toxic environment doesn’t promote plant growth . Who knew ? Paint it dark green to notice it less . Protect your grass next time . Come on , Man ! lol
It's warm enough months ago to move them, and you wernt worried about wood prices when you overbuilt the coop
