Those were the old days, when 170bhp was enough for a car to be much fun. I remember my first BMW, a E36 320i Coupe, it had 150 horses from the 2-litre I6 but I had so much fun in it. Then I got the 28i E36 'Vert I have today, it's a tiny bit tweaked so it makes around 230hp, I have more fun in it than I did when I test drove a 435i last summer.
@@alf279 I have a E46 320i Coupe facelift so it also has 170hp, it doesn't accelerate like crazy but the driving fun on curving roads is extreme ;)
@@boonamai8926 I know, I know... Even my 20i was a joy to drive. On mountain roads you don't need a crazy amount of power to have fun, with 150-200hp you can use it all without killing yourself. The convertible I have needed a lot of mods to make it as good as it is today (improved the body rigidity, added some hp, tweaked the suspension), but now it adds the topless experience mixed with that beautiful six cylinder sound without feeling heavy and twisty like Verts do when stock. Amazing.

Man, how refreshing and beautiful it is to see a car without stupid screens, digital gauges, steering wheel buttons and all the bullshit modern cars pollute interiors with. So much better, especially for focusing on driving.

i feel like you have no idea to drive stick, why are you down shifting to second gear at 3k+ rpm? are you just trying to make engine noise?

@@an0nim11 getting to high revs is one thing, sitting at 4k rpm and then down shifting to second gear and spinning the engine up to 6k rpm can't be healthy... that was my meaning. you don't sound smart acting like a patronising wanker

The only wrong I see is the lack of revmatching while downshifting.
@@Duskconqueror that's exactly my point...? He is at 3-4k rpm in 3rd gear and then downshifts to 2nd gear pulling the rpms up to 5k

El coche es realmente una maravilla, mecanicamente perfecto, he tenido un E30 325 y su motor de seis cilindros es muy suave y suficientemente potente, si te gusta la linea, es perfecto, el conductor no trata demasiado bien la mecanica, tampoco efectua bien los cambios ni las reducciones.

@@seandominko109 My dad had 320i 2015 just before the facelift they did. I know it is not the same as this Z1 but the sound weren't even close to that! It sounds so original, so BMW
@@scorpionx211 That's because since 2004 (E90 model) all 320i are R4 engines. In the F30, the one which your dad had, even the 330i is R4 which is kinda sad. Miss the old times where you could get true raw sound with 2 liter engine.
