If you do successfully changed to the open beta do you have to keep two copies of the game? How do you make sure that there is only one copy? Thanks for any input.
once i install the beta from this tutorial, does my desktop icon run the stable or the beta? or do I need to make a new desktop icon? How can i tell in game if its the open beta or stable version

When I click open powershell it dosent pop up on the screen. It only shows in the taskbar. Whenever I click run as adminstrator it pops up but dosent show the dcs file. It just says (C:Windows/system32)
What is the difference between the 2 and how does it effect multi-player? I'm getting the game and the server I want to.join requires open beta so I'm just curious

The same command but we change '@openbeta' to '@release'
UPD: If it doesn't work, try it without ' symbol

release does not do anything it just says dcs is updated to beta?
@@kolavadae4592 Check the game version. Maybe right now OpenBeta and Stable versions are now in one version, so it could say so.

Hold LShift + Right click on bin folder and press "Open command prompt here" or "Open PowerShell window here"
Just repair dcs if you want to revert back to release?

Openbeta is just newer. Go for Openbeta unless there is some gamebreaking bug preventing you from doing what you want.

Just be careful. I messed the command line up and it accidentally erased the saved episodes of Twilight and all my vampire photos.
It says "Cannot detect the install directory."

If you install DCS from the website and don't get the OpenBeta installer, it will install separately.

Nothing else to it. It will not touch your settings, it's literally like installing an update.
i dont have windows 11 it doesnt show me openshell when i ctr shift right click
In the right click menu there should be an option to view more options at the bottom. Clicking that will bring you to the right menu.

Depends on how many Modules you own. My DCS Folder is 580 GB.
