I have been using VLC on Win10 feeding video clips into an ATEM Mini Pro controlled by Companion running on Raspberry using your buttons to Select specific clip, CUE, play as well as show remaining time etc.. The side by side shots around 10:15 were done in post. Some of the demonstrations in the video are live effects (like all the green screening and pip), but I recorded all 5 channels to the ISO for the tutorial and chopped it up and moved it around in Resolve to best display whatever I was explaining. You'll see a version of side-by-side in my more recent video explaining the Key Presets, czcams.com/video/yPrIHCiQNrQ/video.html but the ATEM is limited to a split-screen 2-UP effect - you can't achieve dual full screen with only 1 Mini.

    Awesome macros! I don‘t know yet what kind of atem i want to pick up (prob. atem mini pro iso). But i have some questions before i purchase... maybe you could me...
    Do you stream via ethernet directly or are you using atem streaming bridge for using it with obs? (cause the usb port is probably connected to your ssd?!)
    i really want to build animated stinger transitions (found a video on how to do it with streamdeck) and not the simple ones provided from them... but how does it work, when the usb port is not connected to the computer or especially obs?
    Is the multiple view window connected to your seperated monitor and your desktop to one of the inputs? and is it possible to use multi view on my mac?
    since i am watching more and more videos about it i am more confused...

    • @davidjoshuaford
      @davidjoshuaford  Před 3 lety

      I livestream directly from the ATEM. Recommend using the Ethernet port for computer control, and keeping USB free for disk recording. ISO version is GREAT! Get that one. Nice size and powerful options. Multi view is only out of HDMI port, but you could get a $20 converter on Amazon (or a $110 Camlink 4K version) and bring it into your computer if you're wanting to view the MV on the computer screen. Recommend a dedicated monitor though for all day use cases.

      Hi there - within the Elgato Stream Deck software at the bottom right is a "More Actions..." button. Install the Companion custom buttons module. Then drag in Companion buttons to the Stream Deck profile you're working on. You can choose between dynamic or specific pages/buttons from Companion. In my example, I've filled the entire page with dynamic buttons, except for the button below the top-left button. I use this button to jump out of Companion and switch to a Stream Deck profile, where I mix and match both Companion and Stream Deck. If you place a normal (ie non-Companion) button into the Stream Deck profile, it won't access Companion. I'll have a more detailed explanation in an upcoming video.
