      Really liking how you have built the integration for H2R and VLC to work together using VICREO. I already use these instances but unfortunately some of the vicreo commands only works on MacOS. I will explore how to make it work in Win10.

    Great Video series!! Super helpful...thanks! I’ve started importing elements of your profile into one of my own, and this really helped save a lot of time...I’m trying to squeeze all of this into the 15 button stream deck...got VLC and R2R all talking but my tinkering has not yet achieved the mighty “long press” function...which triggers companion to crash...maybe something is not jiving with Osc...I’ll go back and watch again.

    Great video! Just wondering how you program the button for your "wide to tight" preset recall that I often see on the intro for your more recent videos? I'm hitting a wall in understanding what I might be missing in accomplishing this. I'm running Companion 2.2, using Sony VISCA protocol for SMTAV PTZs. I've been able to get almost everything else programmed, aside from this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    • @davidjoshuaford
      @davidjoshuaford  Před rokem

      I’ve developed a cue system for my run of show. The first button is PRE that sets everything to first positions, such as recalling PTZ preset 1. Then when I go live, the next cue is RUN. That drops the music volume, cuts Cam1 to program, and does three PTZ actions: sets it to Time Mode, sets the drive time to 30sec, and then recalls PTZ position 2. This is using the Canon XC protocol, but you would be able to achieve the same thing with Sony VISCA

    Hello! Thank you so much for these videos, it really has helped me with my workflows. I am curious how you setup the ATEM Audio fader control, as from my companion instance, it only seems to allow me to set a fader level, not move it up or down as yours does. Did you use ATEM Macros? Thanks again!

    • @davidjoshuaford3920
      @davidjoshuaford3920 Před 3 lety +1

      It's using Companion's built in Emulator (TARGET_IP:8000/emulator.html). Make sure your phone or tablet is on the same network as companion's server and then go to that address in a web browser (replacing "TARGET_IP" with the relevant address).

    I have a question
    I have the Streamdeck XL and ATEM mini Pro, loaded and configured all the software and imported the profile. In the companion, I see all the proper text on the buttons and it is connected to the Streamdeck but instead of seeing the macro name I just see macro 1, macro 2, etc. I'm on a PC with Windows 10

    • @davidjoshuaford

    I have two questions:
    1. Is it possible to have a button that changes its functionality based on how many times you have pushed it? Let's say I want to trigger a given sequence of macros, and instead of having several buttons for each macro, I want the original button to switch to trigger the next macro when I press it the second time, and so on.
    2. Is it possible to make the pressing of a button switch the functionality of another button? Like, not switching to another complete panel, but only change specific buttons?
    Both these questions are sports related, so I'll give an example. Let's say you want to trigger some graphics briefly showing the standings if there is a score in other games that you're not broadcasting. In the beginning, the score is 0-0, so the only two buttons you'll need is one to trigger the announcement of 1-0 and one for 0-1. But once you have pressed the 1-0 button, the only next two possibilities will be 1-1 or 2-0, so then i want the same two buttons to have those options instead, triggering two different graphics.

      @davidjoshuaford  Před 3 lety +1

      Magnus - great question! I would like that functionality too. It's not possible to store variables at the moment, but I hear from the developers on the user groups that an upcoming build will include a module with that capability. So watch this space!

    • @davidjoshuaford
      @davidjoshuaford  Před 3 lety +2

      it's the same software and interface for the 15 page SD, you'll just have to remove some buttons to make it fit. There's a grey shadow outline on the button page in Companion that will highlight what buttons end up in the 15 and 6 key SD versions.

    • @davidjoshuaford

      Open Sound Control - there’s a module within Companion, and I use it to send commands to press other buttons. It will likely become redundant for this use case when Companion v3 is released.

    How did you do Chroma key inside a circular pattern mask? 2x Atem Mini Pro or 1x Atem Mini Extreme?

    • @davidjoshuaford
      @davidjoshuaford  Před 2 lety

      You’d need a 2ME for that, so yes- a base level ATEM mini doing the green screen and background layer, output to an ATEM mini pro to handle the circular pattern key would do the trick. You could achieve a square result with 1 extreme instead

      @@davidjoshuaford I have achieved a PIP circular pattern + chroma key with 1x Atem Mini Extreme. Upstream key 1 = virtual backdrop with flying key. Upstream key 2 = camera with chroma key and flying key. Upstream key 3 = full screen source with inverted circular mask in bottom right. Upstream key 4 = circular border.png from media pool. So fiddly! Thanks for all your content, it has helped immensely.
