The suitcase that makes lifelike masks!
If you sold this prebuilt I’d buy it.
Seriously...I would too. I'd definitely buy it assembled with/without the monitor or switcher.
Sound like you've got a product !
Yep mee too
Same!
Yep. Tell me where to order. I’ll provide the ISO, you provide everything else.
Brilliant setup + You just keep on delivering the cleanest videos on CZcams, so thank you for that.
how has noone found out about u yet in this comment section. ps: tried the cacio e pepe, u make it look easier
spread it like butter!
THIs is a really impressive job, and gives me tons of ideas!
This is so well thought out, Caleb. Fantastic work. Love this!
Thanks Brotha!!!
He looks suitably smug in the thumbnail for his efforts too!! 😝
@@Alex-hongry Can you blame him? Lol
For sure! The only thing I might tweak would be to build it in a larger laptop size pelican so you can have a 15" computer screen. But this is dang awesome here!

This gets my gear nerd side so excited. Woooo!
Great job Caleb..!!
Caleb sharing every single bit of his work for free makes me wanna not skip ads whenever I watch his videos. Just a very small price to pay for everything I've learned from this awesome dude! Kudos to you!
Kudos Caleb! This is just such an elegant approach to a real problem with 'cable proliferation'. I can't wait to get to building this unit. Thank you for your hard work and thoughtful videos. Always an informative pleasure.
Very impressive how you've managed to describe the design and building of this great project with perfect pacing. You seem to have made all the right choices of what to put in what to leave out. Not a boring second, yet so much is covered. It's a lesson for video producers in its own right.
Can’t believe it. I was just thinking about how this could be done and boom -you’re on it! Your my DIY hero.
This is the best case build i've seen for the ATEM Mini yet! Totally loved this!
Great build Caleb....you continue to raise the bar on ideas and execution. Thanks!
This is GENIUS dude ✅ Well done! 👏
Nice build! A few suggestions: a 3D printed cut out for the monitor would be a nice addition. Using one could cover the leads on the right side of the monitor. Also, this extra part could be used to place the power switches on the left of the monitor instead of near the handle. This prevents the user from accidentally switching on the device(s) when carrying since they are that close to the handle. Last tip: using a slightly bigger case would offer space for an "internal" power source (battery or power bank of some kind), which would make the case ultimate portable.
Love this kind of stuff. Efficiency, organization, and Practical.
Your channel is one of my favorite on youtube! So resourceful and informative, also I love the way you describe things! Whenever I am looking something about dslr video gear I search to see if you've made a video on the topic. And then sometimes I come across gems like this I would have never thought of but immediately am stoked on the idea of. I seriously want to make all of the gear tutorials setups that you rig together on your channel!
You’re a wizard, Caleb. Even bolted on a vent 🙌🏼
Thank you Sam!!!
If Inspector Gagdet and Marie Kondo had a child...
You always amaze us with your clever ways of saving space and adding functionality to video production. Well done!!!
Just picked up an ATEM Mini Pro and this got me very excited to use it and try something like this as well! Excited to do some creative videos with it on my channel. Thanks for making this very detailed video breaking everything down.
Awesome idea! Very cost-effective and smart for traveling producers.
One thought: have a custom plate made for the I/O on the back and run jumpers from the ATEM to the plate. That will help relieve stress from the relatively constant plugging/unplugging that would occur in a portable environment. We do this in live production world using companies like full compass and redco when building custom live streaming cases. It may require a size up in Pelican cases, but that would also give you room for a larger monitor and still be within carry-on size for TSA requirements.
The only "disappointing statement" in the whole video was your invitation to companies to embrace your idea and mass produce the "ATEM Carrier". Man, this is a breakthrough! It could make you the Zuckerberg of the ATEM Mini or the Jobs of the Blackmagic miraculous gadgets. I would buy it under the Caleb brand, seriously! I love the video a million times. Of course, I cant risk embarrassing myself attempting to make one ... lol
This is such an insane solution! OMG! Unbelievable the stuff you come up with and how incredibly helpful it is. BLESS YOU and everything you do for this community!
This is amazing! Thanks for taking the time to think through this build..
You should trademark this as a product. i would buy it.
This is free for anyone to make a reality :-) hoping someone makes this!
@@dslrvideoshooter okei who makes one for me?
Me too!
Not sure if it can be trademarked; someone already did something similar a few months ago. See the link to the other build. czcams.com/video/GNHV8OMGgbE/video.html
@@vitaminq4348 It certainly can be trademarked with his company or own brand. Now, maybe not be able to get a patent it.
This is beyond impressive. Love that you share your knowledge on authentic niche content rather than riding on the obvious like so many creators.
Thank you so much Neil!
@@dslrvideoshooter Keep up the good work Caleb
This is so awesome! great build
this whole build and look is just stunning! So clean and so professional. Great job on the project, with incredibly detailed explanation and build tutorial.
Incredibly cool for us nerds! Nice work, Caleb!
Agreed, this is really cool.
Thank you Curtis! ❤️
The details... 👌🏼
Sir, you are a genius.
OMG! This is awesome! Just recently bought atem mini and wanted to have something like this! Thanks a lot!
This is amazing! Excellent work!! I can't wait to take on this build.
Such a great idea for mobility!
One thing to note though : ATEM Mini does not have dedicated Multiview, they are only available on Pro and ISO.
I noticed you were using the PRO version on video, but provided links for the standard version instead.
Thank you, I was trying to figure out how he did multiview on his Atem mini...
This should be a product readily available! Good job!
Really solid work, this really is a functional and portable set up that makes sense, bravo!
Props to you for coming up with this idea and building it! The only thing that came to my mind to improve it a tiny more would be: just a square of Velcro on the back (Top lid) cause you know there’s always something to hang on empty space :p haha more seriously could be useful for battery or wireless HDMI receiver ;)
Great point. I've actually added a T5 SSD to the lid since finishing the video.
@@dslrvideoshooter I am interested in the T5 SSD on the lid. How was this accomplished? Thanks in advance.
You should totally patent and sell these. You'd make Millions! Really fantastic idea. You really should approach a few of the case companies. Even talk to Blackmagic. They might love this idea.
I work at a case company that has all the fabrication tools including 3d printers to make these in quantity. We distribute Pelican and SKB Perhaps run a kickstarter campaign to test the waters?
This is a great all-around . it can cover small to large projects .You're a gift to all of us .thank you
Very well thought out!! Great job!!
The future is now! This is so friggin’ cool.
Absolutely excellent! :)
Super clean build, Caleb. Kudos! That's a very useful build indeed.
Beautiful work, thank you for sharing this build.
I don't even need this but I want one! I want to need this, this is so cool!
this some real quarantine productivity
by far the best setup i have seen yet. I would buy it in a instant. Great job on the project.
Holy smokes, man! Outstanding, well thought out and beautifully designed! I have an ATEM Pro coming that I presume is the same size and if it is this case project is an absolute must. Awesome! Thank you for the fantastic idea!
Good Lord! You are my savior and also the reason why I spend so much money right now lol. Thanks so much for this video and the detailed guide on your blog!
You really should start a kickstarter project, almost guarentee you'd sell loads.
This is awesome! I've seen a lot of these in the ATEM groups but nothing as well thought out as this! Thank you!
Dang so impressed by this! So many intricate details and those 3d printed parts are awesome!
Much larger, but I used a ProX 19" Slant Rackmount Case that fits the ATEM mini on a shelf, a sliding shelf puts the laptop either at my fingertips or out of the way, a 14" hdmi monitor covers my second screen, and a rack-mount, switched power distributor handles AC, USB power, and gives me a power switch for the ATEM :) Does a great job hiding the cable clutter and keeps the setup from "spreading out wider" with computers/monitors/switcher/etc.
CZcams makes it sort of tough to share a photo, though :)
interesting!.any link available?

Plot twist: Caleb changes the channel name to: "The MacGyver of Multi-media"
Story at 0:02
Wow this is so exciting and amazing. Tons of use cases!! And I agree this should be mass produced. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful job! Well done!
this makes me wish i needed an ATEM Mini.
Naa.. you need the pro.. Everything with pro in the name is better. Look at Adobe Premiere :D
I'm ready to shave my head now. This is pure genius.
Just finished building my own. Definitely a fun/frustrating experience. The HDMI ribbon cable didn't last very long so I'm waiting on a replacement but otherwise it works great. Also I used a coiled 1/8" audio cable to route the headphone jack and ran the other cables through the coil. It's super clean.
Thanks for sharing!
Bravo! Awesome build!!!!
So where's the link to pre-order this lol.... I'm ready to hit the buy now button. OMG this is perfect!
Haha I also like it!
I want to build a case for me and can do a few more. Do you are interested in buying one of these? I can sell some and if some more people hare interested in buying I maybe would sell and ship them with an official online shop :)
SICK!
This gives me inspo for doing this. I have a sling studio now and am looking at switching to an ATEM system. But the thought of all of the cables kills me for on location use. This idea solves most of the problems with this crazy setup. This is smooth as hell. I love it.
This is way awesome! I'll put it on my list of things to make. Thanks Caleb!
Absolutely Genius. Man, now I wish I went with the ATEM over the SlingStudio. haha
Grant Vissers you might enjoy my detailed breakdown about my portable Atem setup: czcams.com/video/SqmkTUvFbRA/video.html
I was trying to make the call between getting the sling or ATEM. In the end I went with the ATEM. My thought being that I could still get the sling some time down the line and use the ATEM with it as to increase the hard wired cameras.
@@djvertigo2698 SMART! I've actually thought about buying the cheapest ATEM mini for exactly this purpose. The main factor in my decision was to avoid the need of a computer for streaming which the Sling does so well. But I agree, running the ATEM into the sling might be a great option for multiple wired cameras.
I was NOT ready for this case porn...
Gorgeous stuff!
The only add-on I would recommend, which I don't know if possible, or how exactly, is a travel cover for the back side cutout. I'd be worried about dust or sharp metal stuff getting inside the back ports area. Magnetic maybe?
Yeah or some kind of hinged door.
Yeah the original design used all water proof jacks wired into the case and connected to the ATEM. I scrapped the idea as you’d need a much larger case for all of the jacks. Would love to see someone like Tilta make this though!
@@dslrvideoshooter Maybe you could make some sort of Velcro cover that covered the opening.
@@dslrvideoshooter Yeah, waterproof's probably an overkill, no need to compromise the size.
I was just thinking a removable 3d-printed cover panel, even velcro-ed, would keep the ports tidy and safe from debris during transportation and storage.
Wanted to say, really great design, well thought out, robust & tidy! Thanks for sharing! 👏👏👏
amazing build. I love watching video like this.
Please contact Black Magic and help them produce this. It is amazing.
My first thought was "I wonder what he used to seal around those switches," and then I saw the back. That's okay, you probably aren't going to be streaming from the deck of a fishing trawler in the middle of a storm. You have done such a fantastic job on this otherwise so why not print a cover to keep dust out and protect those back ports when you toss it into your trunk or whatever? Or did I miss that?
You could put it inside a Pelican case for protection.
Yes! This is exactly what I need for my ATEM Television Studio HD, I’ll just have to get a different size case and figure out new 3D printed parts, maybe even one big enough to house my encoder too, so it’s an all-in-one live-streaming box. Thanks so much, definitely going to look into making this.
For the 3D printing parts please Email fadastudio2020@gmail.com for more details.
Amazing work! Excellent presentation!
Why don't you price it and sell it? I would like to buy one if you have more.
Especially since there are lots of us, useless hand workers. If I try this, I know something will break, and possibly explode.
I will buy from you
I would buy one from you also.
I would also
I would buy it too
Can I just buy one from you?
I definitely wanted to try something like this when I got my Atem mini pro, you just did it way better than what I imagined!
Wow!! Great job man! I remember when you were hacking up that gh4 and I was so inspired seeing you get in and modifying it, this is such a great evolution.
Well done. I am trying to decide whether to purchase an ATEM mini or the Feel World switcher. Any thoughts?
The ATEM mini uses the same Software as the professional way more expensive Blackmagic ATEM production studio switchers which makes it really powerful. You get a fully fledged audio mixer for your signals, you have a powerful build in keyer to use for greenscreen effects or overlays. And if you have a BMPCC 4 or 6k, you can remote control the camera over hdmi within the ATEM mini. (You can control the color engine enside the BMPCC to do color correction for your livestream.)
Downside with the ATEM Mini: You don't get a hdmi multiview output. You would need the ATEM mini Pro for that, which is more expensive (but totally worth the extra money, in my opinion...).
I don't have any experience with the feelworld switcher, but from a quick look, I think I would still tend to the ATEM Switcher
Would you be selling these kits ready to assemble I would be interested in purchasing one. I have both 7" Monitor and Mini PRO
Unfortunately not at this time :-( check maker spaces in your area for access to a 3D printer.
DSLR Video Shooter thank you for the quick response. I’ll review and use your links to purchase from Amazon so I can support your channel!
Love it, ironically bought a pelican case with foam and just using it to store my atem, so clearly got room to make this happen...thanks for sharing.
Congratulations! Fantastic Work!
Have you considered selling the case? without the ATEM Mini and the monitor ?
I would buy one from somebody
I would buy one if you decided to mass produce. Even if you would provide the parts as a kit with instructions. Man what an opportunity.
Next level, I love this kind of stuff! This kind of stuff is the future of filmmaking
Wow!!! That was outstanding! Thank you for making this tutorial, and for the detailed instructions. Wishing you a great day... 🤓
It would be great if you sold this as a kit in addition to your shirts.
Caleb is the Adam Savage of A/V CZcamsrs.
I wish! Adam is near the top of my man crush list!
thank you so much, Caleb. will for sure go to your blog and purchase all the items and put it all together, step by step.
that setup looks awesome!
If there was space to store the power supply... You still have to carry that separately and not forget to pack it.
great note! a bit bigger case could fit that in and hide the hdmi outputs in shelter🙂
@@JuusoHoo I priced the larger similar cases. $$$
This is incredible, and I really wish I could just drop some cash and have one shipped to me from a reputable manufacturer.
Yes! I’d buy it.
I would buy one too!
