  • This video shows you how to fix your hoover steamvac if the upholstery sprayer don't spray anymore. If the problem isn't a clog in the house or the sprayer nozzle them it is probably a gummed up pump

    Thanks for the helpful video!
    This fix saved a few pounds of plastic from a landfill.
    I have a machine that hasn't worked for the last 4 years. I found your video today after considering purchasing a new unit.
    I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. You have definitely helped somebody out!
    Thank you.

    It looks like you had to epoxy the impeller to the shaft. My impeller cracked at the hub. I 3D printed 10 new impellers out of PLA. Worked like a champ for me. Notice that one impeller slot is wider than the other 3. I will sell an impeller for 5 bucks. Beats 80 bucks for an Amazon replacement unit. These pumps are no longer manufactured nor available from Hoover... Great video. It got me rolling.

    My sprayer seems to work fine, but the reservoir seems to be leaking quickly out the little sq. hole by the brushes. Any ideas there?

    This was absolutely the problem with my attachment. The piece inside broke and will need to be replaced before it's usable again. And I'm with Gluluman, seeing it come apart would have helped a lot, but I will not complain over-loudly. This video took strait to the problem...and I now know a whole lot more about steam-cleaners than I ever thought I would.

    Great video but you actually can remove that pump without taking all the rest of that off you just need a long screwdriver or screwdriver bit remove that one screw and wiggle it out

    Thank you for posting this. Mine has the same issue and most likely it's in the pump after checking all the lines for blockage.

    • @sand0077
      @sand0077 Před rokem

      Update: The issue turned out to be a blown T3.15a fuse located in the handle assembly. It governs the solenoid that opens the upholstery sprayer.

  • @DougPlucker
    @DougPlucker Před 8 lety

    The pump is only for the upholstery accessory. If you haven't tried it yet, you can release the cleaning solution onto your carpet without the cleaner being on, or even plugged in. It feeds the solution to the bottom of the carpet cleaner via gravity, no pump needed. That is why everything else was working fine, except the upholsery nozzle. This feature is great for pre-treating the carpet and letting the cleaning solution soak in for a while, without having to plug in and power up the carpet cleaner.

    It would be nice to have started by removing the cover and given a step-by-step detail on how
    to. Rather than state just remove the two
    screws - in that how do you remove the cover. Just remove two strews in rather incongruent explanation.
    Nonetheless thanks

    • @0Gravity1966

      Sorry that you had a problem figuring it out. ...I had already totally torn it down before I decided to make the video. ..I tried to explain the best I could. ... If your not mechanically inclined enough to figure out how to get to the bad part, then maybe it's best you send it to the repair shop. I'm not a master at making documentarys....I took the time to figure out the problem and tried helping others.... Sorry it wasn't up to your standards!
