  • Here I'm showing is one of my Steamvacs that was requested to be shown. I've had this machine now for maybe 5 or 6 years. I bought this from the thrift store for about $13 if I recall. It works overall, I simply wiped it down and that was about it. It's just missing the bare floor tool and the Spinscrub indicator broke so that's why there's not one on the machine. Neither which I would plan on acquiring for this. Not to mention that the solution tube cover for the solution hoses broke as well which I'm not going to bother with. So this used to sit at my place for a while and then later at my storage shed. But almost last year we needed another machine to use at my grandfather's because his Hoover Steamvac Deluxe is currently out of commission so I just brought this down here for the time being, probably until he passes away. So this room that I've filmed this machine at is the reason why I brought this down, it sucks when you reach old of age when you're having difficulty of reaching to use the restroom. And so I had been using this machine now for a few times, trying to clean up whatever that I can from urine and feces. Unfortunately though, this machine or any other portable cleaner would NEVER get these carpets cleaned. The only way to TRULY get them cleaned entirely is to hire a professional with a truck-mount steam cleaner. But other than that, I do like this machine for what it is. I had been after one of these for a while back. It very much reminds me of the Hoover that was only exclusively sold on HSN. Basically it's like the F5899-100 LS Edition except the only difference though is that the LS Edition is orange but the HSN one is blue, exactly like this one. I've been DYING to get one for years now, that is my favorite carpet cleaner extractor of all time (As far as looks go of course). I do like that it doesn't have the Clean Surge as this one, it adds to the reliability. But the only thing that I do like better about this one however is the hose set up.
    Hope you enjoyed!

    This is a great product 👌 works like a charm, last a lifetime. I had it for over ten years now.

    My parents used to have this same model Steam Vac years ago before they moved overseas, that was a fantastic carpet cleaner, probably the best one I've used. Since they've moved back, they bought a Turbo Scrub, and it got the job done, but the feel just wasn't there compared to the old Steam Vac. If I were to get any carpet cleaner though, it would definitely be one of these older Steam Vac Spin Scrubs, or one of the Dual V/All Terrain Steam Vacs.

      I agree with you. I mean the Turbo Scrub I think isn't all that bad, but you're right though that these definitely do have a much better feel to it. Though I'd wished they'd never gotten rid of the Dual V variants, it was in my opinion Hoover's better carpet cleaners that they've ever sold and it would've been my second pick to choose for a budget portable carpet extractor if I would've passed up on the Dirt Devil Platinum Force/Royal Procision.

    Made in North Canton, Ohio in June of 2007 according to the data tag. The plant closed in August of 2007, so this was one of the last ones to roll off the assembly line in the USA.

    Nice demonstration. I will say that the Maytag versions of the steamvacs were better built. I had 2 TTI steamvacs and both of them had the clips that hold the end of the hose randomly snap off after only very few uses. I’ve never had that with the Maytag model. The MayTag model I had was just like this but it didn’t come with the powered hand tool. It was brought around 2006 or 2007. My parents loved it and so did I. It cleaned very well. I also like the fact that they never used a belt compared to Bissell. They never really stop spraying. I don’t think even the pump that the hose uses controls the spray for the main cleaner head, so pretty much nothing never really went bad with theses. I hope one day I’ll find the exact same model I used to have. I’m not that big of a TTI fan. I hated how they just made the body black. Same with the sound of the newer style motors. But I’ll give TTI this, they never tried to make another vacuum with a self cleaning filter.

      Honestly, I don't really see any quality or reliability differences between all three companies of these machines. Maytag, Whirlpool, and TTI. But that's just from my experiences. One thing I thought was dumb of TTI was discontinuing the Dual V/V2 machines, they were in my humble opinion the best carpet cleaners Hoover ever sold. That was one good thing Maytag had ever done but I still blamed them for ruining Hoover. I think TTI has really helped Hoover of getting back on their feet, some machines they've made I think are the best Hoovers like the Profile/Insight. Anyways despite all of that, I do like these machines. But I'd much rather take a Dirt Devil Platinum Force/Royal Procision that uses a belt over these anyday, another thing I thought was dumb of TTI to do.

    Thank you so much on showing how to use the button. Watched 5 videos before this and everyone skipped that part. The machine I barrowed is old and can’t see the letters on it.

    Nice at least this steamvac vac with clean surge has a plastic hose on there and doesn't rip like the hoover steamvac widepath or the steamvac ultra

      The automatic tool conversion hoses I don't think are all that bad. I just think you'd need to be really careful with them.

      @javanmarcum9209 Před 2 lety

      Yes I don't think there not all that bad either they just should make the hose on the plastic instead of the rubber hose so they don't get ripped that much either on back the days

    We purchased this same cleaner years ago when we lived in another home in a dryer climate. Now we live in a very humid climate (Alabama) and have a two story home on a crawlspace and all the subfloors are OSB. After purchasing this house we pulled up the laminate flooring downstairs and found there were some issues with mold and rot on some of the OSB sub-floors where water had previous gotten. We put carpet in three bedrooms upstairs. I am worried about cleaning the carpets water/moisture/humidity could cause the carpet padding to grow mold. Not to mention if water got down to the OSB subfloors. We are currently trying to find a reputable company to deal with mold growth in the crawlspace. Any advice is greatly appreciate.

      Just make sure to have fans on in the room(s) to help dry the carpets faster. I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

    We have a tiny Hoover SteamVac called Hoover Powerdash Pet.

  • @natethegameandmediadude2006

    We used to have that same model SteamVac but we had to get rid of it because it was leaking and we had to purchase a new model called the Power Scrub Deluxe

      Have you checked the hose for any clogs? Have you checked the manual to see if it's sealed up all the way? And have you checked to see if your filter is clean or not?

      I know this old post but thought I'd comment cause I had same problem,I didn't put on the lid on dirty water tank on right and it wouldn't suck. I figured out I didn't put one side on first then clamp it down.
