My packtalk power socket has become loose, which is making charging difficult! How can I fix this?
The reason we bought 6 devices is the guy explaining packtalk. Well done.
We use them in chainsaw helmetsWe have adapted the PACKTALK to our chainsaw helmets for some of the Texas Baptist Men -
Disaster units. They have absolutely changed the way we do work. We also use them for our climbers and man-lift operators to be able to talk with their ground support. We have even put them on several of our skid steer operators and their safety spotters. It’s a GREAT PRODUCT for what we do. Thank you, CARDO, for working with us on this adaption. The system works so well we are adding more units as we can.
I'm a huge fan of the Cardo Packtalk and have converted many riders who were dissatisfied with their Sena units. After many bad experiences with various Sena units, the Packtalk is a breath of fresh air. Above all else, the Packtalk just works very reliably. I also appreciate that Cardo keeps improving the existing hardware with firmware updates. -- A quick product suggestion: I'd love to see Cardo come out with a standalone DMC device that can feed conversation audio (via 1/8" stereo output) into a helmet cam or audio recorder. Being able to record video of a ride and hear the conversations that are going on would be amazing.

I hope your right :-) I had a huge amount of Problems with my Sena 20S. After the theird time they repaired it i decided to go with Cardo. I hope this thing will work as daily driver.

I own a Sena 30 K and pack talk slim and at least the SENA will mesh up with other sena units I cannot say the same thing about the shitty Packtalk unit
When they come out with a self-driving motorcycle, I can read the manual while I'm riding... since, I'll never remember how to do all the stuff these things have! Just got a set for my wife and I. They seem really cool so far. Can't wait to get out on the dirt bikes and try them! Thanks for this tutorial! 😎 Stay healthy everyone!

Our group changed to Cardo Packtalk Two years ago, They work much better than Sena did and as a whole we are very satisfied with them. I have had problems getting my unit to turn off. The Cardo voice command is great but sometimes does not understand you when your bike is running and wind noise is present. Still it works better than anything we have used.
Just got my pair working. I’m loving it! Can talk to my wife as we ride. I noticed the radio volume increases the faster I go and it sounds great!

Hey Cardo its me again, am now useing your device for about 1 months and i have some wishes for future improofements. I just can talk for my self and my experiences i made with it, am a daily user.
I really wish something like a skip cooldown for skipping tracks. It hurts to say 10 times in a row "Hey Cardo next track" if you have to. Why not integrating a function like: Hey Cardo next track ..... next... next ... next... after every "next" you have like 5 seconds to say next, until you have to say hey Cardo next track again, it is really driving me nut.
And whats about: Hey Cardo device off. That would be really nice.

Just got my Packtalk bold after being pestered by friend, to be honest I didn't believe his claims but damn I'm happy to be proved wrong. I love it and it's made a huge difference to my riding experience

@LafeiAr still light years better than the cheap Amazon Bluetooth headset I have on my helmet.
That thing charges with a little proprietary plug.
If and when that breaks, I'm hosed.
BUT... It was only like 30 bucks.

Thanks, just purchased a duo Packtalk Bold. All features indicated works perfectly, except for the voice recognition, which only works once in about every 80 attempts regardless of volume, distance, speed of speech or even accent. The voice in this video, when the speaker is against the unit's mike only improves reaction time by about 10%. I tried both units with the same result.
The agent from Cardo on hand when I purchased the unit informed me that the speech recognition works fairly well at this stage but are frequently improved with each update. Please, please get this sorted out, especially to access Siri which has the worst success rate and is the primary reason I purchased the unit.
The English version of the unit is tuned to North American English. Queen's English version is in the works.
The voice recognition demonstrations in the video are unedited. They work as shown in the video.
To improve performance check the following:
1. When using a boom or a hybrid boom mic, make sure the yellow triangle near the base of the boom is facing your mouth. If it's not, it won't work
2. To activate Siri say "Hey Siri" and WAIT until you hear a 'beep' from your phone. Only then speak your mind to iPhone personal assistant
3. For all other commands - speak fluently and without pauses, as shown in the video.

Having a modular helmet, it would be great to have a longer boom mic.
I purchase the packtalk bold couple of months ago and have tested it just a handfull times due to pandemic. The quality of the sound and the intercom function is great but the Voice Command is really problematic, and cannot make it work properly, despite all the search I have done in forums. Some times works, sometimes doesn't work which makes things difficult. I would say that my voice control experience with my previous intercom (Scala Rider 9) was much more pleasant. One recommendation I would like to do is that the unit should notify the user if it has been activated with the 'Hey Cardo' or no. Now you can say many times Hey Cardo following by the command, without even now if the unit understands or no. In the Scala Rider would could here a distinctive sounds before you say the command. Even the Google devices (like google mini) notify that they can hear you before you set a command to them. I believe it would be great help if after the 'Hey Cardo' there was an indication that the unit is in 'hearing mode' in order to execute your next command.

Be great to have a video that shows how to set up all the Audio settings and what each one does...I have a problem with having constant static between the two units. talking to other riding is not compromised but very annoying when there is nothing going on but I can hear him breathing and motorbike noise. Nowhere does the tutorials that I can locate tell you about changing these settings or what each one does...Still love my Cardo and no the problem is with me

If you are connected with other riders, will they hear you giving the Voice Commands to the unit? I assume this is the case (but not sure), however I feel that might get annoying for other riders?
yes, when connected to other riders via DMC group, they will hear your voice commands.

Bought the packtalk DUO, how to I pair the passengers unit with my unit so they can hear my music, intercolm, etc? Does her unit also have to be paired with my phone? I wouldn't think it would have to.
Hi, to pair with music sharing and intercom you first need to pair via Bluetooth intercom, then you will need to switch To DMC mode and pair there too.
and then you only need to share the music.

Since the update to 4.0 for pactalk. Will natural voice be in a future update for packtalk?
Natural Voice Operation is only available for the Packtalk Bold and the Packtalk Slim. The "regular" Packtalk will continue to be updated with more features and capabilities but will not carry Natural Voice Operation.

You can connect the BRP system in the first channel and connect your phone to the BRP system.
And one of the features when using any infotainment system is that the system is controlling everything so you will not have the voice commands.
I have the Scalarider Pactalk... Is the Pactalk Bold worth the money? I don't really use voice command while riding.... What else is the difference between the Pactalk and Pactalk Bold? They look exactly the same minus the "Bold" lettering

Since 2018 the PACKTALK BOLD has the natural voice operation that is different than the VOX the PACKTALK unit has.
And since 2019, we add the 40mm JBL speakers.
That will give you a better quality sound.
I love my packtalk but I hate antennas design because easy snapped and broken into half 😣

Hey Cardo. I have problem connecting non-cardo intercom eith my BOLD unit. I do all the steps, it get connected and after 1 second connection is braking, my packtalk switches off and and thats it. Ive bought Duo pack, and Ive tryed both units, ive reseted them, upgraded firmware, try again, and always same stuff. We are connwcting only fos second or two and packtalk is switching off. Please help me. Other device is BT-S2 (black unit with orange button)

I have a 2018 BMW RT 1200 with BMW Bluetooth media. When I try and pair the BMW media with my Pack talk Bold Unit my I phone my BMW nav 6 GPS unit I can’t seem to have everything working . When I pair the BMW media it allows the BMW radio stations that can be changed with the toggle wheel on the handlebars to change stations. The GPS also comes thru the Cardio unit. Whe I then try pairing my I phone ax’s the Pactalk unit loses its connection with the BMW media and the ability to use the wheel to scroll thru the media features. When I do manage to pair my mobile phone with the Pactalk the won’t pair with the BMW media but I can use the radio stations set on the Pactalk app. I am tearing out the little hair I have left trying to make the Pactalk pair with my BMW media and my mobile phone and have spent hours and hours following instructions and everything else including taking the bike back to BMW to see if they could make it work to no avail

I think that you are already trying to connect your phone to the PACKTALK when it's already connected to the TFT.
If it's already connected with the TFT you don't need it connected to the unit.

In your video you say “hey Cardo” when using my unit I don’t need to say that, I just shout oi and it waits for my instructions.. but also in your video you speak to Siri with out the iPhone being plugged in to power. How does this work?

We always recommend DMC. I like that I can listen to my music in the background and still chat with my passenger.

Our units are on all the time. When I hit the throttle on my sled my wife has all the noise in her helmet. Battery only last couple of hours. We had an old set that we had to shout to get them to come on

Hi, hoping you can help solve this problem. When my wife and I are riding on seperate bikes, I sometimes like to mute the audio so I can sing along with the music. However, once in audio we can't figure out how she can get my attention that she needs to speak to me. Is there a way to do this or work around other than her to try and ride past me pointing to her helmet? Thanks in advance for your help.

Since Upgrading to Firmware v4, My sound seems much lower on my pactalk in Intercom and from my Nav V for directions. Can this be fixed somehow.
Volume settings were reduced with V4.0. Check out this video and readjust your speakers accordingly.

Dutch Moto - press the 3 buttons simultaneously on the pactalk for 5 seconds. LED will slowly flash PURPLE. Reset complete
Is packtalk bold different to packtalk?
With the latest firmware update (4.0), both BOLD and PACKTALK are now offering the same set of features. With that said, there is still one difference: Natural voice activation. With our all-new, always-on, natural voice operation feature, you will never have to press a button, turn a wheel or move a slider again, because we have just empowered your voice- just say “hey Cardo”, and your PACKTALK BOLD will do the rest

I have the smartpack but the antenna snapped, really not happy as I paid £450, I think this is a bad idea, now I have just a small piece of wire sticking out as my antenna and always losing my riding partner, had to glue around the wire to keep it waterproof😏

Anybody use this system with the 2018 Goldwing and it's audio system? Unless you're at a stop, the intercom is pretty much useless, and I'm talking about rider to passenger. When moving, it breaks up so bad that neither person can hear the other one and we're using mesh, not bluetooth. Am I missing something in the settings or is this intercom system just this bad? I've been talking to tech support and they seem to be just as stumped as i am.

To start the DMC pairing, press and hold the intercom button for 5 seconds (after confirming you're in DMC mode).

Does the BOLD require a different app than the regular PackTalk ?
Packtalk Bold and "regular" Packtalk with 4.0 firmware version (the latest Firmware update) both use Cardo Connect app. Packtalks with older firmware versions (version 3.2 & earlier), use SmartSet app.
My iPhoneX must be paired each time you turn pack talk off. It does not remember the phone
Unfortunately, at the moment Apple has multiple issues with their last update, and recently changed its protocol.
As a result, we are facing some connectivity issues.

Try this hey siri function at Hwy Speed @70miles. Please perform live test and also answer function to receive incoming call at 70mph. If u can i ll believe i must be doing something weong. I tried atleast 100 times n only 2-3 times works. Every one performed this in house or in garage but no one i mean no one performed in live action on motorcycle at hwy speed. Please do if u can. When riding on the highway it works perfectly.
You need to say the command slowly and as clear as you standstill.
The reaction of most because you are riding fast is to yell the commands and that is why it was not pick up by the unit.

I did tried not to shout or talk loud but still out of 10 still getting 2 nay be 3 times to work.
Test in real life situation n do a video n prove saying doesn't prove it's working.

Hello friends, I have the pactalk bold model. My problem is that I can create groups in DMC mode. I can join groups, but I cannot start and end calls in groups. I reset the factory settings. I reinstalled the software but I couldn't solve it. Does anyone know the solution?
it is impossible it does not do any of the order i said, second do you have a video where you show how to share music and how to share radio? and i am not taking about pressing the bottom of share because in my apps it appears off even we can speak each other
my Cardo now only says: Hello Packtalk, instead of Hello Packtalk BOLD at startup. what's wrong with it?
How do you click the device with both hands while on the road let alone while it’s on your helmet. Very complicated.
Regular problem I have is it keeps making phone calls on its own. Redials last number dialled without any physical touch or voice commands. Drives me crazy. Have reset. Have updated. Doesn’t solve it.

Hey pack talk can I listen to music from my helmet speakers and still allow my Harley speakers to play?
Hi, As we are not fully compatible with Harley Davidson and the WHIM, when connecting to any infotainment system you will not be able to listen to the speakers and have the bike outgoing speakers play at the same time.

Can you adjust the microphone sensitivity slider in the Cardo Connect app?
Can you recheck the installation and confirm that the mic is directed to your mouth?
Can you check the language settings in the Cardo Connect app (English UK/English US)?
