This was the most in-depth tutorial I think I've ever seen. So helpful and easy to understand. You are so good at explaining things. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for having a tutorial video that's more than 2 mins long. I hate it when you get these companies that put out videos and they are super short and have no info in them.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. As others have noted, you were incredibly thorough, and you made it easy to follow along. I also appreciate that you labeled your chapters/topics so that I can refer back if I need. Well done and much appreciated! 👏👏👏👏👏
Mike thanks so much for this video. I've watched it multiple times. It's basically taught me everything I need to know as a first time moto-headset user and a first-time Cardo (Edge) customer. You answered every question I had in an extremely professional manner. Truly excellent delivery 10/10. PS: I'm so happy with the Edge!
I agree that this was one of the best, if not the best, tutorials on this amazing product. Cardo has certainly developed what every rider and rider group needs...dependability, quick set-up, ease of use, weather proofing, and multiple connectivity options. Add to that the 3-year warranty plus Cardo support and the Packtalk Edge has set the bar.....and set it very high.
The PackTalk Edge is amazing. It does connect quickly. It does connect seamlessly. It does work absolutely as advertised. I liked my Freecom 4x, but oh man what a difference.
Brilliant tutorial- thank you. I've just invested in the this system for off road group ride. Really love the voice functionality. Only made a test call on it so far and the sound quality is superb.
I just got the edge and so far I’m loving it. Down side is that there are so many features that it will take me a while to learn how to use them.
Take your time! Once you start it’s hard to live without it! 🤘🤠
Currently wearing my helmet learning how to use this thing
what is the difference between the cardo packtalk edge off-road version (Cardo PT200050) and the standard cardo packtalk edge (CARDO PT200001) ?
Cardo keeps upping their game maintaining their leadership in powersports comm systems. Great video Mike!
Thank you for this video! I struggled with getting our Edge units set up correctly and you made it super simple and easy to follow. The units are working better than ever thanks to your content. I agree with previous comment that videos are usually too short and say absolutely nothing which makes them 100% useless to the new user. Thank you for putting such a useful video together!
Love Love Love this new unit it's a big step up from my Freecom 2 unit the sound and quality of the unit is second to none worth every cent 👍
Congrats for the great tutorial!!! I'm really considering in buying one of these in the next future.
Great video, learned a few things today! I picked my edge up last month. After the learning curve it’s a very cool unit
LOVING my new Packtalk Edge!!
I recently bought a sena due to pressure from a salesman and I absolutely hated it. 12 sena apps. 1990's software for updates and still a POS. Very quiet, complicated as all hell, sounded horrible. I bought a Cardo Edge and have absolutely nothing negative to say. Amazing sound and volume. Easy to use. Links instantly. So glad I went with Cardo
I've one sf4 and an sf2, horrendous after sales,.one stopped working on right speaker. There are firmware upsldate for my model, but they say that i ca not not update them and inhave to go to dealer and reclaim warranty. Never ever a sena again in my life, trash
Fantastic tutorial, very comprehensive and easy to follow. Thank you!
Just picked one of these up at luconia bike week! Made my ride home a rock and roll fest! Love if so far.
Thank you for this The best tutorials and most in-depth on cardo packtalk edge. Highly recommended for all new users, existing users, and those who intend to buy.
DONE! Need to upgrade my cardo. Been using the Freecom 4+ every single day for the past 5 years.
Great video, Just bought the edge and looking forward to trying it out. Appreciate that when you check the weather you're in Long Beach and when you play music its Sublime. ✌
I absolutely love my Cardo. The JBL speakers sound great as well! The volume wheel is designed great, I can increase and decrease my volume without trying to find buttons with my gloves on.
Awesome thorough and complete tutorial! Thank you for that
Our pleasure, so happy it helped!
thank you for this, i just received my Edge last week.
brilliant, I have just bought one, can't wait to try it out
Love my Cardo’s AP Feature. After my software upgrade, my JBL’s blast! 👏👏👏
Excellent tutorial. Thank you. I wish however that Harley would allow full functionality with their infotainment system.
Awesome tutorial. Just bought the 2-pack.
Fantastic video, very clear and easy to follow! I do have a question, I'm buying a Zumo XT2 GPS, if I pair my iPhone on the Phone and then the GPS on the second Channel as a GPS, if I'm listening to music on the phone, will I still get the GPS voice prompt?
And also, will the Siri command work the same?
Thanks in advance!
A very good tutorial. One question that I have is will the Edge communication with 2 non Cardo units at the same time? For example will it communication with 2 sena SF 4 units at the same time? Thanks Cheers.
I love the voice commands... When they work. Full face helmet and so many times it won't stop the music or turn it back on
Congrats bro!!! Finally I'll fix some issues and set correctly my device...
Any tips for removing the cradle from the adhesive plate? I have it on there, but would like to remove it, leaving the adhesive plate on the helmet. I can't seem to get it to come off. Any recommendations?
Why can’t cardo work with helmet manufacturers to have a cleaner install and build into the helmet? Cardo is superior to Sena but its getting harder to find a helmet that does not have a built in option that uses Sena.
There are plenty of helmets made to work with cardo!
@@Master-Baiterwhich ones.
@Master-Baiter I'm wanting the cardo neo for mine.
@@Master-Baitermy scorpion r1 air carbon makes it so you can litterally just put in the speakers and it holds it with no velcro or whatever
@Yii00T my hjc rpha 70st isn't "made for" the cardo, but it words perfectly with the clip, and the velcro for the speakers is already in place, not to say it wouldn't work with a sena either, but why sena? I have the edge btw which I belive is the same mounts. I do remember seeing some helmets made for the cardo. But I would honestly never get a helmet that is made for a com system as I'd feel limited.
DONE
Would love this unit, my son and I are still running the older (yet still perfectly working) Freecom 1 +2, so this would be perfect!
Had it in Canada since July 2022 and didn't get chance to test group yet. Love everything about it except button command is a bit inconsistent. And, even without power saving, sometimes navigation on Maps and Waze will skip first few words then you'll hear the direction or street.
Thank you for the tutorial! I do have a question; when on my light flashes blue; throughout the video the cardo mostly flashed green. Is mine connected differently? Or incorrectly?
Big question for you Cardo. I’m looking at your PTEdge and wondering if a Bluetooth Two way radio will hook up to one of those A & B channels. Want to use off-road sxsing. A lot of time we are not in the “line of site” for the designated Bluetooth group comms operation. This would be a big plus. There are some two way radios which will connect to your smartphone also. Will PT edge be able to talk on radio via smartphone connection? Trying to look at all options. I really like your product and if we can communicate through a two way radio also it would be fantastic.
Is the Insyde system for the AGV Tourmodular based on the Packtalk Slim or the Packtalk Edge?
There are details (DMC or DMC2, microUSB or USB-C, how waterproof is the charging jack, does it have the highest quality speakers) that are hard to find.
Hey folks - I’ve been using bold for several years and used many of them and earlier this year got the edge. It’s great - sound quality etc. The problem I’m having is really bad network connectivity with my buddy who has the bold. We ride regularly and we’ve never had connectivity issues when both of us were on bold- since changing over to edge - while we are connected - the connection breaks way too often - even there is slightest of traffic or lack of line of sight the connection drops which was never the case with bold. I’ve tried swapping with bold and things are back to normal … so I do believe it’s something I’m not doing right … any tips or advise on how to fix it?
Great video. If one rider is listening to their own music, can another rider interrupt them and use the intercom?
Love Cardo systems! I love the packtalk edge duo, highly recommend it!
Great tutorial, learned some new stuff.
Been using Cardo devices for many years, recently upgraded my Packtalk to the Packtalk Edge. I'm a bit struggling with the volume settings though, especially the Automatic Volume feature where it should adjust volume based on surrounding noise. My old Packtalk did this perfectly, the new Edge seems to struggle with this, I often find myself fiddling with the volume wheel to be able to hear people in the group or turn the music up. I'd be all ears for a walkthrough of the 'audio settings' in the app to dial those in perfectly.
Question about your Cardo system. Does the in helmet setup provide much noise cancelling? My utv is loud and I want to eliminate much of that noise.
@@brucejensen3700earplugs
Thanks for the tutorial. I just bought the Edge to replace the Freecom 4. Reason being is that the people with whom I ride all use Cardos with DMC.
Question as I can't seem to find the answer: after I connect to the group, how do I initiate a chat via the unit? Or is it all live?
And if I'm listening to music via the iPhone what happens when a chat between riders starts? Does the audio stream auto-mute or do I have to pause it manually?
Thanks.
I try to ask here because I can't find this information anywhere (tutorial / cardo site / internet): can the cardo edge start a conference with the 2 Bluetooth channels "simultaneously" like the freecom 4x does or it can only make a conference in dmc only?? (the packtalk edge user manual suggests that it can be done but it is not clear at all. in this tutorial I can see the call to the Bluetooth channels one at a time (unlike what I see in the freecom 4x tutorial) thank you very much
This is just a great tutorial Mike thank you!! I really like your smooth moving directions that don’t drag on but are in depth.
I have 1 question. We are getting ready to go out and are going to need to connect 2 4X units with to 2 EDGE’S.
I seen how you do that with 1 but how will that be done with 2 4X’s as the Edge you did it with has now used up the one option?
I also understood you to say that with 1 4X and 2 Edge’s you don’t have to take your Edge’s to Bluetooth mode, do you have to with 2 of each unit? Thank you in advance for any assistance!
Do you know if this does connect to multiple non pack talks?
Can you post installation videos for helmets designed for sena systems such as Shoei and Schberth?
Really good tutorial and very very good video, Big up to you :D
Hi, just bought my first PT edge last week and this tutorial was very helpful for the install, thanks. I have a question re music - you explain well how to skip tracks, adjust vol. etc - all good…. But what about selecting the music to play in the first place? I see in the app how to link to my Spotify and I’ve done that….but i cant see how I can navigate my Spotify library using Cardo app. Is this not possible? If not does that mean I just have to select a very long playlist in Spotify before I start ride and I am stuck with that playlist until I stop? Thanks
Awesome video. Cardo when is a Packtalk Edge Headset (no helmet needed) coming out? I would love to use my edge on when using my side by side
So if I’m trying to connect 3 devices with Bluetooth connection (using A and B) as shown towards the end of the video, can I merge the A and B so all 3 riders can talk together or is it only 1 on 1. My buddy has a free com and the other has a Sena and we all want to talk together
I have a Freecom 4, and one of the things that bugs me is that every time the GPS "talks" - it cuts out the intercom for a couple of seconds. Since DMC isn't bluetooth, will the intercom stay active even when there is bluetooth audio coming in? Phone call sharing seems to indicate that this is possible, but it would be really handy if everyone could hear the GPS directions as well (and I could still hear my buddies while the Garmin prattles on and on and on.....)
The Edge is louder than the Bold I had. I also paired this with corded earplugs/earphones which cuts down significantly on ambient/wind noise and improves listenability.
Is the Noise cancelation any better on this unit than the Bold for passenger to rider? Because I get crazy when noise from my wife's headset.
And I've tried every setting known to man as well as talk to Tech Support multiple times.
Thanks for the good info. Just got the PT Edge. Where would you put the microphone in a ski doo bv2s helmet?
When using these with a Garmin Zumo, does the PT blend the instructions from the Garmin with the Intercom chat? Or does it (like my current intercom) block all intercom talk for around ten seconds while the Garmin is giving instructions - which is really annoying!). If it blends, I’m buying these…..
Great Video. Very complete. Such a versatile kit. We have a duo set and are experiencing issues with the intercom where I can hear my husband all the times but he can't hear me. Sometimes it works, sometime it doesn't. It is not an issue with distance as when he can't hear me, I can hear me... Still trying to figure it out... If anybody has any feedback?
At the 34 minute mark is the explanation of how to connect Edge to a Bluetooth device like the Freecom and a non-Cardo unit. The explanation then shows you how to intercom with each rider separately. Can you have an intercom with all three at the same time? The video doesn’t show that. Thanks.
What is the difference of “bike pairing”? I have S1000xr with the new TFT and i paired it as “GPS”
Great video, but how do we get the Cardo Pack Edge connected to the Harley Boom GTS?
Great video, but I am still confused over the Bluetooth intercom. Based on this video you can either talk to your A channel OR you B channel, but not both. Is that correct? So you can't have 3 people all talking together? The manual indicates you can pair to rider A and rider B, then one of those can pair with a 4th rider for a total of 4 riders talking. But this video seems to indicate you can only pair with 2 others and talk to only one of those at a time.
Got the duo pack this week. The hybrid mics are included but there are no wired mics. We have full face helmets and the hybrids won't fit in comfortably. Does the UK version not include the wired mics?
I have a new Packtalk edge and have programmed some local FM stations into it, but don't always ride within range of my local FM stations. Other than doing the scan with the unit's buttons, can I scan by voice command? I saw no reference to that in the video. Thanks!
Great video. I have my ktm branded packtalk edge arriving tomorrow to replace my packtalk bold. I thought I read somewhere that you could record audio conversations from within the app on the edge? Is this true?
Hey Mike, I have a Garmin XT and with my old packtalk bold, I had the GPS instruction come through and still hear the group in the background, I can’t do that on this edge….or can I? Thanks
Hey is there any difference in audio quality between the two microphones? Thanks
Nice comprehensive breakdown. Not mentioned is how the intercom interacts during music sharing. So, if sharing music with a passenger, are you able to use the intercom without first turning off music sharing? Thank you!
I see there is no reply to this great question. I guess CARDO likes talking at us instead of with us.
Excellent video and instruction..Thanks
@cardosystems can this pair/work with something like the Sena sr10-10 bluetooth adaptor for 2 way radios. Or possiblly have another recommendation for that application
Hi there, can you buy the twin pack to use on two different helmets (same rider) or does it have to be two separate riders, say rider and pillion??
Thanks,
Mike.
twin pack (DUO) contains 2 units. if you are looking to use 2 helmets as one rider, DUO pack would cost you more compared to buying single unit w/ helmet kit + additional helmet kit, with which you could use one unit on two helmets. btw it's explained at the end of the video at 34:40
Great tutorial 😍
Question,
How do I reset pairing?
I believed we can do it in Packtalk Bold
Hello! I just got a couple of these and I’m wondering if I can run both from my phone? For example, my GF doesn’t have her phone with her but we’re both wearing helmets equipped with this system.
I’ve been trying to pair the two in intercom but can only figure out how to share music so far
I had the cardo packtalk black for over 2 years and decided to upgrade to the edge. Its very good but as soon as I‘m paired with my friend on his packtalk black i cannot change the volume of my music anymore. Why is that the case?
Can you only use a phone and talk over intercom to the headset or do you need two headsets?
Having trouble getting this to pair to my 2023 Fltrx Road Glide.
Any suggestions on what is going wrong.
Hi. Question. Is it easy to remove and put back the mic? I dont think I'll use it that often as i mostly ride solo. Thinking to use this more to play media. Or when the mrs wants to tag along. 😂
I just bought this unit. Is there a way to just drive with the open mesh network and talk with other fellow bikers on the road while traveling on the roads similar to an open CB radio? Or would you have to connect to those riders as a mesh network say in a group ride only situation? In other words can you just have an open channel so to speak?
Hey, great question I believe support could help get you an answer! Contact them here : www.cardosystems.com/support-form/
Hi - thank you so much for the video - my question is how do I pair a cardo with a Sena Helmet?
When will a video come out for the new neo? And how does it compare to the edge?
Can you tell me how to connect my Cardo Edge to the skidoo Vibe comm system. Thanks
Hey Cardo
I've got a question. Just found out I don't have that little gap between the inner filling and the hard helmet where you're supposed to put your speakers.
I guess, that would be a problem, when trying to mount the unit, wouldn't it?
Thanks in advance for the answer
I set my speakers back behind my ears by about an inch. They fit great and I don’t feel them touching my ears at all.
great tutorial. But im having a problem with music sharing. I have an Edge and a packtalk black edition(like bold). I followed exactly the music sharing method,,, except when i press share music... it says 'Rider A not available'. How can I fix this?
Is the battery replaceable ? My older Cardo had a battery that could not be replaced and I had to throw the communicator away after a little over 2 years.
when using the voice commands , if you say for instance "Hey cardo, mute intercom", will the other people in the chat also hear that command or does it mute it somehow ?
I would love to buy one of these but the auto-volume feature is extremely annoying and for some reason they won't give us an off switch for it (at least they didn't offer one last time I checked).
Can i confirm that the edge can only pair to x2 other bluetooth intercomms units? Can you speak to them at the same time or not? Is there a way of an edge connecting to 3 bluetooth intercomms at the same time? Thanks :)
Great video thanks very helpful
Love the video. Looks so easy to connect and use. And like it’s waterproof! Have a dou set from Sena (30S) today and are looking to upgrade. Need a duo set for both my wife and me. I ride a BMW GSA and are comparing the Edge and the Black. I don’t know if the Black has the same function of connecting the bike (since I run I tru my bike) Can you confirm that it does or is the Edge the only one?
The Cardo Black (or Bold) can connect to your GSA TFT no problem.
@@rayfallares3099 Thanks for letting me know! Now the choice is easy!👍
Any sedici helmet works perfect with cardo install was pretty straight forward
Hi. I change my old Freecom 2+ for a new Spirit HD. I already have JBL speakers at my helmet. How can I reactivate JBL sound profiles with my new Spirit HD using the same JBL speakers? Regards.
I use the button mic on my modular helmet. I have it on the left (same side as the unit) and stick it on the mesh that's to the left of my cheek pad. People say they can hear me just fine. I hated having to deal with a boom mic. YMMV but it seems to work for me.
Thanks I was wondering about that
@@seethebutter you're welcome, hope it works for you too!
New Rider would be really awesome to have one!
Hey I have a question does this work on a MTB helmet?
So I just got 3 of these. So does each of us have to keep our phones on us at all times to hook to Bluetooth?
I have 2 Cardo edge. When I first received the product, I was able to do music share. I did something and now, can not do music share. I have reinstalled the update on both Carda. I can intercom but I no longer can music share.
Hi,could you tell me if I could connect my packtalk edge to a insta 360 x3? thanks...
is there a reason my two pack will not find each other when searching for group?
one says searching for group over and over and the other says pairing failed?
tried setting up a group in the app and still get no audio between them. a bit stumped. am I messing up or do I have a defect?
Great video, thanks!
Can you use the cardo edge dual with your partner on the back of the motorcycle, listen to the same music and talk on the intercom? Thank you!
