Here is a list of 11 accessories I recommend, coming from an actual motorcyclist.
    1: Frame sliders+spools.
    2: Security chain.
    3: Battery tender.
    4: Chain alignment tool.
    5: Center stand.
    6: Throttle lock.
    7: Heated grips
    8: Tire rope plugs.
    9: Chain brush.
    10: Pinlock visor.
    11: GPS theft tracker.

    • @danielgielchinsky6951
      @danielgielchinsky6951 Před 2 lety +36

@@kris54241 a pin lock visor is an insert that goes inside your helmet visor to create an air barrier that keeps fog out of the helmet and off the visor. Some pin locks are helmet specific, like Shoei. Others are generic. The pinlock brand is highly regarded as the best version.

Frame sliders? You mean my clutch lever and rear blinker? Mine slid across an empty parking lot on those.
Stay in school, kids. Don't do wheelies on Harleys. It's an expensive hobby, and money spent on fixing a dropped Harley could have been spent on safer hobbies like doing drugs.

@@baconoverlord7982 Because it totally makes sense for riders to spend 600+ on a helmet hud instead of 50-80 on just securely mounting your phone to your handlebar. You can get mounts that put it well within your field of vision so you don’t have to look away from the road.
And that is only one example from the video. Having a job has nothing to do with it, it’s a complete and utter waste of money.
Even if you added all the fancy hands free Bluetooth and other features to that phone mount package with a cardo it’d still be half the price and be equally viable.

@@michaelm.3641 I just stopped watching when the first thing that he showed was a friggin HUD for your helmet. I mean that has to be the worst possible gadget to get that I can imagine. Something that clogs your field of view and distracts you. No sane motorcyclist would get this. Jose is absolutely right in his statement. And as you say, having a phone on your mount is both cheaper and better.

I've ridden for years and while I agree that these are things most riders would not view as "must-haves" - some of these are exactly the things we would have if only we could afford them. As someone who is out there in traffic, not being seen by car drivers, and old enough to know how quickly things can break bad, I would have those light up boots, that airbag jacket, and a helmet light right now if they were in my budget.

When riding a motorcycle you need to concentrate and keep your eyes on the road - it could make the difference between ending up in a wheel chair. If you really want lots of gadgets to stay safe just get a car. Re accessories - I got some heated gloves because I live in a cold climate and cold hands most definitely take the pleasure out of the ride - safe biking everyone!!

The jury is out for me on an airbag. I have been riding since the early 80's crashed many times (enough to loose count). At least 3 times over 100 mph (on a racetrack). No such thing as an air bag back then, pretty thin 2nd or maybe 3rd hand Bates leathers with no armor for the first crash. And for the second another thin set of Vanson leathers. The crashes consumed those thin leathers but not my skin! And the for the third fast crash a much thicker set of Z Custom leathers with armor and a back protector for the third. I have also had numerous street crashes including being rear ended on the freeway at 55 MPH (wearing jeans and a nylon jacket, not even a scratch . . a miracle . . actually I think I surfed the bike for a bit and rolled out of it to stop on my feet). They say off-road is safer . . guess again . . no rules out there, in the dirt I had a head on collision (me on a 2000 CR250) with a VW dune buggy both going 45 mph at impact. . . . Ouch! but no broken bones ever. But I can say with the back protector on the 100 mph crash, and this is the original Dainese protector, so anything on the market now is better than that. With that protector it was downright comfy sliding along up and over turn 6 at Willow Springs. I have never been injured in the area that the airbag covers . . . except maybe with the head-on with the dune buggy it would have worked nice there. . . but so did the cheapest chest-back-roost protector from cyclegear (nothing broken despite ejecting and flying 30 feet onto my head / back . . u but it did hurt really bad!). Leather was enough for all my road crashes (std mx gear for the dirt crash). . . . That doesn't mean it can't happen a different way next time for me or completely different for you . . . but once I'm on the ground I have my techniques and tendencies so I am willing to take that risk with the equipment I have since it has served me well and has been fully tested. I have hit my head hard enough to see static and have demolished numerous sets of gloves so I tend to make sure those bases are covered with the best I can get my hands on. That and protect your extremities that can flail around and slap the ground hard . . .hands, knees, elbows and feet . . . at least that's what gets torn up on me nearly every time I crash . . No airbag helmet, gloves, knee, elbow or ankle protection yet. . . . which is why the jury is out for me.

Yup. LIGHTS and Stuff to make you VISIBLE are Definitely THE most important thing. I got into a bike accident over 30 years ago from an idiot unlicensed driver taking daddies car out for a joyride and blew through a stop sign at 40mph. Still have back muscle cramps from it to this day despite working out, stretching, massage therapy, etc. As a drive I've seen how small bikes are even when close. Today I ride my Ebike and I have six headlights, two tail lights with one fast flasher on and numerous large pieces of reflective tape on the front forks, rear and side frames of my ebike., I wear a DayGlo reflective vest, helmet and gloves and I hit the horn for everything and of course ALWAYS ASSUME a driver does NOT see you. Hell I've had drivers coming right at me even while flashing my high beam right at then and hitting my Loud 120DB motorcycle 12v Horn I adapted for my ebike and STILL they barely swerved 7 feet from me. People are just MENTALLY looking for BIG objects like Cars and even with Dayglo stuff, Bright LED lights, etc... you still have to constantly watch out.. though I've found that people overall now give me a WIDE birth when I'm passing. In fact many are Afraid to pass me even when I'm hugging the curb on my bike until I Wave them past.
If I ever get another Motorcycle I'd jazz it up the Same way with MORE lights, Reflective tape all over and wear my Dayglo colors, Body armor etc.. If I had Armor back in the day My Back would be fine right now.

The TPMS stem caps is a bad idea. The stem isn't designed to hold a tight seal on the outer edge and the sensor will get loose with vibration letting the air out of your tire. They have had indicating tire stem caps for years and they are more trouble than they are worth.
The sensor needs to be inside the tire where it doesn't create a leak path.

@@freshsodaa7023 If you really want tmps on a motorcycle get one that is in the tire. It isn't that hard to pop the tire off the bead and insert it. I would guess that you can do it without taking the tire off as well.
It is going to mess up your wheel balance though, and IMO doesn't really increase safety unless factory installed. Maybe you could put a bead locker on the opposite side to help balance it. This one relies on bluetooth, which means it must be on, it must connect (which I have enough troubles with headphones, let alone a safety device), the app has to be running in the background draining battery, when it indicates you have to somehow notice it on a generally loud vehicle and if it does tell you the pressure is dropping it would have to be a slow leak to be able to react in enough time.
The times I have had a flat on a motorcycle it was always a puncture by nail or screw. The tire deflates somewhat slowly and starts feeling mushy, ie it feels/handles wrong. This causes you to look down and see the flat.
There are just too many things that have to go right for these devices to help, so I cannot see the value. If flats were the big concern, I would foam fill the tire. That probably isn't done on high speed bikes though as it likely messes up the way the tire rebounds.
