I love the ghostly ball theme they gave her. As if she's in Isolde's fantasy of what being a princess in Camavor was.

would be better if these characters skin tone can be more ghostly pale so its more spooky to fit shadow isles. but whatever, appeals sells.

Yeah while its mostly theorycrafting, Gwen is supposed to be what a commoner imagines a princess to be like. While I have my qualms with her design in general its kinda cute I give her that.

I like it, a true aristocrats style champ. Even comes with the drain subtheme. Pairing her with Kallista or Lucien seems the way to go, maybe Thresh could work as well.
Viego Gwen could also be really good, since you’ll get high power and be getting a lot of units to die
I think her heal good with kindred in control deck
I don’t think I’d bother playing kalista. Eternal dancers is a leveled kalista for 6. Better to use the champ slots for someone else.
An aristocrats theme for a true aristocrat lol. I thought she'd pair with Ephemeral somehow. Though I did think she'd have lifesteal instead of drain.

Actually so happy with how they implemented her healing mechanic with the snips she does in League. Great job!!

LOR art is really well made. I looked her art in game and you can see a portal to camavor which is viego's region on the far east of runeterra. I think riot is making camavor a more aristocrat hallowed theme style (good version of shadow isles) or a more draconic style like viegos armor (dragons) which is cool because it really fits the region opposing to shadow isles.
I absolutely love everything about her reveal. Best aesthetic and flavor thus far and the classical music tops it off perfectly

I want her. I also want her to be fun. At least we know she's a Runeterra champion (all her followers were shown in different regions. Here's hoping she has a less restrictive deck build than Bard)

@@chamow2787 I mean that Bard's 'region' is literally just cards that are intended to go with Bard. Compare it to Jhin, who can add any follower with a skill. Sure, most of those are aggressive, but that's not a limitation of Jhin, just the existing cards.

I think the implication of Gwen's ball is really cool for her theme, it seems like it is all her creation to live out Isolde's fantasy

Well it seems Gwen will have some really neat combinations:
Lucian-- the most obvious from what we've seen in the video, since you want hallow units to die and you can buff Lucian's attack so he is harder to block on his lvl 1 and lvl 2. You may even try to make Dawnspeakers to work because your units die very easily so it's free buffs for your board.
Kalista- another great combination since Kalista benefits from having units dying and by buffing her with hallow you make it that much harder to block her level 2 without the blocker dying, not to mention that summoning an ephemeral hallow follower with Kalista's ability helps both Gwen and Kalista even more. The neat thing is that they're both from SI and they don't have the same cost meaning they can curve into each other, so you're free to combine them with other regions like Noxus (if you go aggro) or Ionia (control and ephemeral support, and it gives you ways to protect both Gwen and Kalista if needed).
Viego- similar to Kalista, Viego is from SI as well and because of his cost he curves well after Gwen. Also, with the attack buff from hallow you can make your units have even bigger attack and threaten a quicker level up for Viego as well. Combining them with the new SI landmark also seems really good imo.
Hecarim- this will probably require you to put more ephemeral units, but with the buff to Hecarim buffing the ephemeral units with hallow and Hecarim's effect is huge. Not to mention Harrowing becomes a lot scarier.
Overall I do like Gwen, she is a very flexible champion which is what SI needed. She provides much needed support to champions like Kalista and Lucian and I can't wait to see her in game.

also renekton, this might seem weird but i think renek's vulnerable grants will let you force hallowed blocks. couple with some native ally slay spells in shurima and it could be interesting
Also with Annie Tybaulk because once she is level 2, her skill can deal massive damage. Also SI/Noxus is a freaking great control deck in general.
There is another thing here that is a MASSIVE deal.
We got Atrocity back, and for only 3 mana. It may not be able to go face, but it can certanly kill stuff, while also letting us activate allied Last Breath effects.
I'd say she's good with Freljord. Freljord can give Gwen extra protection. Some units will also love the +1|+0 from Hallowed such as Braum.

Nah, I reckon they showed it in the video - Gwen Lucian seems to be the play.
The thing about Hallowed is that it can trigger multiple times in a turn, so Rally effects make for a huge Gwen (who then Drains a ton of health), as well as letting you hit hard. In addition, Gwen's accompanied by a spell that summons two ephemerals, making levelling Lucian easier, and Lucian's Double Attack really benefits from the increased attack, even as Lucain provides extra rallies. In addition the challenger followers typical to demacia will be able to hit far harder than they should, acting as a solid source of removal for the deck.
I could be convinced of a jank Ahri Gwen setup, where you stack Hallowed and let Ahri end worlds (similar to the idea of Ahri Bard, but giving yourself a second region). Thing is, Gwen needs to be left of Ahri to not get recalled, and Ahri needs to be as far left as she can go to gain the Hallowed buff. Gwen would be an alternate win condition, not synergistic like you'd expect.

Hallowed mechanic seems like a real late game menace... Looks like it can pair well with rally OR just copy tons of it with PnZ... OR just go all out. Replace the scissors with lawnmowers using dawn and dusk with a couple of burst speed atk buffs.

@@anghainguyen9951 1- you don't need Her stats to be 40 even with like 10 a 10/10 quick attack that drains 5 every time attack is super powerful.
2- add her arch-type the hollow key word + the chimes and gaining a tremendous amount of power becomes easy.
