The Sentinels of Light event was an unmitigated disaster, but making Vayne a Sentinel was one of the best lore choices Riot's ever made.

@@tunderdiamant8651 Eh, she sorta did. She wanted to kill Senna and the other Sentineks at first, but came to accept that there could be good uses of magic, I.e. her teammates. It’s the reason she accepted becoming a Sentinel to begin with.

miss fortune has a terrible statline for leveling up tbf. 4 health makes vayne nearly impossible to remove without a 2 card combination

I love the fact that they made her a vanilla card. At first I thought they were being lazy, but now I see they really put in the work to make her as versatile as possible. This champion is like a canvas just waiting to inspire creativity.
Its mostly because they want to pair her with Jax, she would already get the keywords from improvised equipment

I absolutely love the design they went with - not at all what I expected! It does feel very odd for any version of "Tumble" to be a "Slow" spell if you're comparing to the base game, but it works in context of LoR.
I was expecting something along the lines of her Tumble allowing her to dodge out of combat/from being targeted as a Fast spell, but this design is much more unique. And it feels quite fitting for Vayne to be incorporated with the Equip mechanic!
It works for me! Tumble never feels "fast", it feels disorienting! She tumbles, goes invis for 1s, AND THEN you get destroyed. The opposite is true with condemn! She autos twice and you're expecting the silver bolts proc damage, but then she combos with condemn and you're suddenly dead.
@@Elephanthobo exactly! Vayne is more deceptive rather than someone that is just faster than you. Plus, ahri already dodges during combat which is much more fitting of her LoL kit.

@@moctezuma_2 I dispute that. Vayne absolutely *is* meant to be faster than you as her passive in LoL gives her movement speed towards enemy champs - and this bonus DOUBLES when she ults. She is the very definition of a relentless chase hunter: if you can't turn and kill her she WILL run you down and fill you full of crossbow bolts.
Not to mention, no Vayne worth their salt will use Tumble solely for damage unless the enemy is in no position to fight back. Given that it's her only way of quickly repositioning, a good Vayne will hold onto Tumble until the enemy tries to hit her with a skillshot ability and then Tumble out of it. In fact, Ahri's line CC skillshot Charm is a perfect example of an ability that Vayne would use Tumble to avoid.
I agree with OP that if LoR Vayne were like in LoL, her Tumble would be something like Fizz's Playful Trickster: take Vayne out of combat, cancel all enemy spells targeting her and Rally. Buuut, there are going to be differences; it makes a certain amount of sense that Vayne should have a card that can equip her with an item since she's an item-scaling carry in League too, and obviously this is the patch in which Riot is really trying to push Equipment as a mechanic, so it makes sense why they designed Tumble like this.
It's quite interesting that they release Vayne with her Sentinel outfit as her base form. And quite strange that she has no quick attack (given that she is one of the champions that really needs to attack fast and move a lot)

Not everything in this card game is canon, its more of what ifs.
Well, of all ranged champions, she has the lowest range, could be a nod to that.
@@godofgames6366 Actually it is canon, they even confirmed it. It expands on Runeterra's timeline and story. Legends of runeterra will shape League of Legends outdated champions that have outdated stories ( # Vayne ) or expand on their timeline.

What I love about LoR is that they make interesting champions that might not be something you usually play in LoL. I dont play Vayne in LoL but in LoR she seems really fun

For me it's same with ASol. In LoR you try to kill him ASAP cause after level up he's going to beat you with the fricking universe. In LoL he's just a meme.

i love that they used her sentinel design and even happier she's equipment support as she's one of my favorite characters in the lore of lol along side Jax. litterally so excited to try out these new cards

Vayne not having quick attack is a surprise. But a welcome one.

After fighting Viego she stayed with the Sentinels of Light and her LoR designers decided to make that the current baseline version of Vayne
TBH I prefer her base design... but meh there's always Wild Rift and the OG League...
They gave her tank stats because they didn't want to make another quick attack ranged champ.

@@ShuraEssays I know but I mean, kind of like the Path of Champions had before where you would play against other characters and they would have a short animated comic that would tell you some of the lore
@@ignacior.dealmeida8581 sadly I think that's just way too much out of their budget now. I wasn't able to play it before when they released it, and I really want to try, but I also understand why they don't do it anymore. Just one of the few sacrifices the game has to do for being so f2p friendly
