They just show green Yoshi because he's the canon one. The one that appears in all the artwork and on the Catch Card in Super Paper Mario.
Also might not want to confuse newcomers that you get several different yoshi characters on your team.

That was the first thing I noticed too! In the original, only Mario had a back sprite!

Would be a huge fail if they didn't let us do that. The remade music is great but it's not fully faithful so I'd like the ability to listen to the original music
What I'm _really_ looking forward in regards to soundtrack to is an in-game music player to listen to any track at any time on. Given the frequency that recent Mario franchise RPGs have been including those, of course, I'd be shocked if they didn't in this game.
This is probably an extremely unpopular opinion But I actually like the original music way better than this new remix I really hope we can switch back.

I just noticed something on the Thousand-Year Door. And I mean the actual door, not the game. Did you noticed the different colored stars on there? There are only white and green stars on the door, which makes sense since the Emerald Star was just recently brought to it. I'm guessing every time you bring a crystal star to the door, new color star is added to it. And when all seven colored stars are on the door, it unlocks the way to the final area of the game, The Palace of Shadows.
Makes sense, in the original they all appear on the door when it finally opens. I guess in the remake they decided they want them to always be there. I like it

I also noticed on the titular Thousand Year Door that the stars on it are colored in with the Diamond and Emerald Stars. This didn't happen until you got all seven and opened the door at the end of the game.

The song is indeed the Bouncing Yoshi Egg song. They just heavily revamped it. I don't mind the remix. (Heck, I might love the song even more now, it sounds so goofy that I like it.)
There isn't a single melody or leitmotif in this new song that matches the old yoshi egg chase song at all. They are completely different, similar vibe, but completely different
@@ScrimmyBunglets They actually do in fact. Just listen closely. The song adds so many new instruments and melodies that it drastically changes how it sounds. It's a reimagining of the song, it gives it new life. (I also doubt that they would just not change the original cause it doesn't sound good tbh.)

For those who hasn't play the game here's a secret for Glitzville. ...Uhh after getting the Yoshi egg in Glitzville and, depending how many matches you fought, you'll be in for a surprise the Yoshi you have. If mistake, save data before egg hatch then reset the game.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the new music was just for the egg chase, so it would match the fiddling that plays during some Yoshi-themed courses from Mario Kart 8.

I might be mistaken but I believe as you gather Crystal Stars and take them to the door, the follow upwards, the Diamond Star first left, then Emerald Star directly above it, NOT to the right like we see in the footage.
Ive never played the original game so this is great news for me, but, i really want a remake or remaster of super paper mario.

It probably is 30fps, but it looks stable in the clip. They probably will have to adjust button timing for the game to be forgiving enough. The difference in visuals is insane, though. The Switch version appears to have beautiful art direction that does remain faithful to the original game.

I wonder if there’ll be changes to leveling up. If I remember correctly, there was no level cap in the original but after you hit a certain level (30?) it was next to impossible to gain more. Each battle only gave you one star point, even against multiple enemies, so grinding was long and boring.

There is a level cap, it eventually switches from "next to impossible" to just straight-up "impossible" once you cap every stat.
I think it's at Level 40.
The original Paper Mario for the N64 capped at 27.
By that point, you'd have 50 HP, 50 FP, and 27 BP, the caps were substantially higher in TTYD.

If I had to guess, maybe they changed Rawk Hawk's title because they thought "Feral Nuclear Reactor" was promoting nuclear energy? ...which I guess isn't progressive enough for Nintendo of America?

Other than a few graphical touchups, and what looks like a better lighting engine, the game really doesn't feel that much different from the original. I'm definitely waiting to get it used on eBay/Mercari instead of throwing 60 bucks on it.

I wasnt concerned about yoshi colours not being in purely because it was all promotional material we were seeing. The original was like that too. The only time other colours were shown was during press copies of the game

I’m excited for to revisit this game, but there’s one thing that Intelligent Systems should add if I want to consider this remake better than the original, the integration of the Latin American Spanish localization in the remake, the 3DS remake of Luigi’s Mansion 1, and the Switch remake of Super Mario RPG implemented Latin American Spanish in the games, heck, Paper Mario: The Origami King has Latin American Spanish, which made me extremely happy, I’ve been going on the Mario Wiki to check any updates to see if the TTYD remake has been localized in Latin Spanish, but so far, no luck.
Intelligent Systems should definitely add the Latin American Spanish localization especially since The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s extreme success in Mexico shows why they can’t ignore it.

We don't know what fps this game will run at. Nintendo posts all of their trailers at 30fps it means nothing
In fairness, most Paper Mario games run at 30. TTYD and SPM were the only exceptions, so I don’t think it will be that big of a deal if it does run at 30.

This game looks so beautiful! As of right now, I’m currently playing the original game so I can memorize every single Star Piece location since it will benefit me a lot that way I can get prepared for when the remake comes out.

I am not a fan of the 30fps gameplay of a game that ran at 60 fps twenty years ago.
Edit: for the record, 30 fps is fine. But this game originally had some pretty tight timing on some moves which will now need to be adjusted to be more forgiving. That's fine too. It really is a matter of preference. I just personally enjoy the responsiveness of 60fps gameplay, and I know without a doubt that if they weren't using a third party engine to develop this game, they could have achieved much more. (I am a video game graphics programmer so my opinions are probably different from a lot of other people, which is not to say that other opinions are invalid.)

@brandommario2 it does matter a lot, not only is 60 fps just better but if it's 30 fps then the superguard timing will change on every single enemy attack which for people who have a lot of experience with this game that is going to he pretty frustrating.

For all the people needlessly complaining like worrywarts about the 30fps framerate affecting the timing of action commands, listen to this pertinent fact, " _WE AS HUMANS HAVE MUSCLE MEMORY_ ". Here's another pertinent fact, " _WE'RE INTELLIGENT NEUROLOGICALLY MALLEABLE BEINGS_ ". In other words, we can adapt and intellectually adapt to a myriad of changes, very flexibly might I add. We're not STATIC beings ya dig?
Also, the 30fps framerate in this beautifully faithful remake is as solid as a rock, and the frame pacing and transitions are much better in this remake on top of that.
So please, can the lot of you for the LOVE OF GOD just take a step back and marvel at the meticulous level of effort, detail, and care that's being put into this remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, and yes, that's right, its a REMAKE, not a remaster. There's new sfx, new animations, voice text/clips that matches the characters when they talk, and new gameplay content TBA (To Be Announced). Some of y'all can't appreciate hard work when its right in front of yo' faces.
Well, go play an inferior unauthentic pirated version on unauthorized hardware all you want to, the rest of us will be enjoying this glorious remake with fresh new content (both existing players and newcomers). PEACE OUT✌.
Mario's surprised animation in the original just looks weird compared to the new one. He just flails his arms around without changing his expression.
They add so much personality to these animations, I love it!
One of my biggest problems with the first two games is that it feels like the partners' storylines completely end when the chapter is over, or sometimes as soon as you recruit them. It makes me happy to see all of them together in so many more cutscenes.
