That battle Toad must be to help you learn stylish commands. It's not a well known element of the original game, so I'm glad they're being more in-your-face with it.
Interesting. Had a feeling they would change the casino but replacing the slots with the SMB3 match minigame is certainly an interesting alternative that still mostly fits
And as opposed to swapping out blackjack for card matching in SMRPG, the gameplay isn't all that different from the original.
Its basically the same game but rotated 90 degrees. Game ratings are weird.
@@cloudymccloud My guess would be a combination of "there's no existing slot machine that looks like that" and (provided it works something like the SMB3 version) there being at least an element of skill involved. (Said game does have a certain amount of randomness, but not to the degree of likely saving you if you completely mess up the basic timing)
I wonder what they're going to do with the Happy Lucky Lottery... At absolute minimum, if the results _are_ schedule-rigged like in the original, I want the numbers to at least be believable and "the digits don't have to match _in sequence_ to count" (afaik there is no real-world lottery that's THAT unfair). Like if my ticket is 1234 and today rolls "consolation prize", _don't_ freakin' tease me by saying the number rolled was 0234 and "welp, the first digit's not a match so the other three don't count"!

I kid you not, I wasn't a huge fan of the original battle theme. This alternate version made so much better for my style.
The Japanese Trailer made me cry again. Just hearing the new and remastered music and seeing the incredible new visuals brings me to tears every time. Just one more month till a peak game comes out on switch.
I hope that we can accept more than one Trouble at a time.
for the GameCube badge, I think it would only change the sound effects and UI. For the music, I think you will be able to change it in the setting, like in SMRPG Switch

I am so happy, I have been waiting for a TTYD port or remake for so long. Can't believe it's only 1 more month away.
I want them to restore the missing boss fight in Riverside Station with either Doopliss, or Marilyn and Beldam again.
The 3 random goombas always felt way too out of place.
I myself would deff want to see that alongside the Prince Mush fight, as he's TTYD's version of "The Master" and was teased to be fightable in the Gamecube version via Jolene's letter and had actual data of being fightable.
but that never happened due to likely, technological limitations back in the day.
I'm assuming its quite likely we may see both that unused ch 6 Marilyn+Beldam+Doopliss fight and especially the Prince Mush fight given the technological advancements of today. if not both then most likely the Prince Mush fight.

That extended battle theme we heard sounds like it’s taking music cues from Lineland Road in Super Paper Mario, which is just all kinds of cool.
The amount of love they put into this remake is amazing. I'm really glad they did add some new things, even if a lot of them are relatively small in the grand scheme of things, instead of just making it a slightly prettier but otherwise exact copy of the original. I'm so jealous of my friend who will be getting to experience this game for the first time. It's one of my all time favorite games and even though they've knocked it out of the park with this remake, I know I'll never be able to capture the magic feeling I had playing it for the first time. The only thing I'm iffy on is the battle music change. TTYD's battle theme is one of my favorites out of all the Mario RPGs and my first impression of the new battle theme I heard in the trailer is pretty meh. But if there are different battle themes for each chapter, maybe?, then that means there will be more variations to hear and I might really love one of the other variations.
Also happy birthday! This game is the perfect birthday gift for all Paper Mario fans (though I still hope we get a new one in the same style as the classics on the next system! So be sure to show this one plenty of love to send the message to Nintendo once and for all!).
I agree, experiencing this for the first time was magical. There are good signs we will be able to change back to the original sound effects & music though.

a month away is actually crazy. I still remember the excitement I felt when it was first announced and my excitement has not gone down in the slightest since then!
There is also in the english version when it's showing how the crowd can fill up in the bottom right "+Tattle Check." I wonder if that's a way to see your tattle book and find out information while in combat? Like weaknesses etc.

This is definitely a step in the right direction for future Paper Mario games.
If we're getting new specially-desinged NPCs in this remake, then hopefully, that means we won't get generic NPCs in future titles.

Please everyone who sees this message you must buy this game. If this game sells well, Nintendo will probably go back to the old style Mario RPGs. Maybe we'll get Mario and Luigi back too. Especially because the Super Mario RPG remake also sold very well

This is Nintendo throwing old fans a bone and cashing in on nostalgia. Doubt they'll make a new traditional Paper Mario after this. Most we might get is a remake of 64 eventually. Would love to be wrong ofc.
@MusicJunkie37 I do worry if the game will sell well anyways. TTYD is good, but there's always a decent sized group that will get angry about $60 for remakes regardless of the game being remade. Not to mention the "HOW DARE 30 FPS" stuff.
We shall see, but I feel it's best to not get ones hopes up. It might even just lead to more remakes rather than brand new games in the style, hard to say. Bringing M&L into it is even more of a stretch.
All I'll say is, there's hope, but it is best to leave at just that and not venture into "probably".

@montecristosmith2343 I mean there's always a chance. That said, I beg people, don't buy the game _because_ of that chance. Buy it because you want TTYD. Anything "good" that comes of the franchise as a result will be a neat bonus, not something you should count on happening ahead of time

Despite running at 30FPS, it still looks fantastic and the characters all look really expressive
I honestly dont mind the 30 fps that much. The visuals are worth it, plus pm64 ran at 30, and i have a lot more experience with pm64, so the 30 fps acrion commands feel much more reliable to me
It can run at whatever FPS it wants, as long as it doesn't interrupt or inhibit the flow of gameplay.
It's clear it looks absolutely fine in 30FPS. People are just looking for excuses to complain because they can't resist being negative all the damn time

Ngl I was a bit salty about the 30fps at first, felt like a downgrade but this looks fine enough and will probably only bother you if you compare it side to side with the original.
Literally every one of these changes are good. Insanity!
The Paper Mario devs FINALLY know what's up!
I keep saying it over and over, the sheer amount of effort that they're putting into this remake is astoundingly unprecedented. And I know that its a remake, but wow, this is truly starting to feel like either a full on reimagining or a rebirth.
Words cannot even begin to describe the depths of gratitude and pure joy that the existence of this glorious remake is evoking from me. This honestly feels like one of those ethereal lucid pipe dreams that you have that you DON'T want to end, except this is reality, a DREAMY reality to be honest. This is a pipe dream come true, and for anybody that's wondering, YES, Nintendo has indeed gone back to their unique and creative roots, this isn't a one and done situation. With Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Super Mario Bros Wonder, Super Mario RPG, and Princess Peach Showtime, Mario has unequivocally and indubitably been ushered into a creative revival.
Listen everyone, the " Good Old Days " are AHEAD of us, not behind us. GOD Bless, GODSpeed, and peace✌.

Nintendo never abandoned their unique and creative roots. There is no "creative revival," Mario's been creative for all these years since the original TTYD came out. You have some genuine issues acting like Nintendo is only just now in recent times being creative and seeming like your on heavenly drugs from this remake. The good old days have always been ahead of us since day one.

I think the mouse who runs the trouble center is Pierre, he wanted to join the Robbos in the original.
Now im not sure about this, But i feel like the pan the shy guy tries to drop on Mario is a reference to the basin trap from Color Splash, i could be wrong though since the pan here looks very different and i dont know if this trap was in the original game since i havent played it in a while but hopefully someone here knows.

The mouser does not run the trouble center. There's already someone you discover hiding in the main building. So maybe this is an errand-boy that lets you access the troubles menu from other locations

Wondering if the battle theme's going to be like Origami King when it changes depending on the chapter you're at or if it's a "late game area" battle theme kinda like how Bug Fables had.
Also side note it'd be interesting if the Palace of Shadow's music overrode the battle theme similar to how later Paper Mario games (and Bug Fables) did so - would really add to its creepiness factor.
Nintendo has not given so much love and dedication on a remake since a long time! Like about... six months ago! :,)

2) I pray that doesn't end up getting annoying after a while. Looks cool at first... but if that happens constantly, I'd love to have an option to turn it off..

10) battle theme is unique for each area. (Now this is probably the best thing out of the entire list of stuff that we have gotten. )
-now we only need an option for a boss rematch and I think this game will be a major improvement from the original.
If you compare to the scene where there is the gamecube badge and the scene of the 8th discovery, the screen is at a much small resolution, like old graphics, as if like the badge changes the graphics to gamecube ones.

3:28 This is weird; The way speedrunners would get to the pipes early would be by using Ms. Mowz to enable Hazard Respawn (Basically moving within 1 or a few frame of Mario exiting the water in time with Ms. Mowz's animation.) & then moving onto the upper platform & Spin Jumping, which requires the Super Boots; By the time those pipes can be opened, Mario would already have Flurrie, & he'd definitely have both by the time Ms. Mowz joins.
So what's going on here...? Even if Ms. Mowz joined early, the Super Boots are still after Flurrie, so why is this here...? Just to make the shortcuts feel more secret, I guess?
You forgot about the Shy Guys will have voices(Or at lest Archive ones) unlike the original since we can here one of them when they pull the rope to drop a pan on Mario in the overview trailer.
I really am excited for this game to come out! It has been one of the best RPG games in my childhood and I can not wait when this comes out!
Didnt the shy guy cutscene happen already in the original? Like rarely instead of them just going off screen youd see them as the camera followed them. Wssnt that already a thing?

Also, I could've sworn in the original TTYD that there was a secret entrance to the back of the Trouble Center, & it was run by a Doogan or something. Was it really a Mouser, or did they retcon that?

Honesty, using the SMB3 minigame in place of slots fits even better while still serving as a gambling refrence. It's steeped in Mario's own world making it more believable!
I'm just hoping for new fights; can be a new area, superbosses like the mario rpg remake, SOMETHING

I figured that they wouldn’t have added anything vastly new but the music and concept art is a nice edition. Still hoping they added a new boss rush mode or something like that but as of rn it doesn’t look like they have.

I hope it does not everybody is as good at playing games as other people no matter what the age I was born in 1985 and been playing gams since 4 years old and still don't play lots of games because they're too hard for me I like when TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection came to Nintendo Switch they made most games easy for people like me to play 'sadly they didn't make the 1st NES game any easier so I still can't play it'.
