    There were some requests to post the product links. I had to look back at my eBay history to find some of them. Yes. Haha. Put a car jack under the motor. Pad it with something soft. Then gently lift until you align the hole. I would recommend having two people so you don’t drop the bike.

    Question for you I do like the sound of the z900 especially when you eliminate that clunker of a muffler by changing out the pipes and putting a CS racing exhaust and an air filter. When you do that my question is, do you have to go through some kind of tune? Like Dyno tune? I'm wondering because even though it sounds great and all you can run into problems later on when I hear...
    I'll be getting my first z900 abs 2022 model

    Yea I was going to switch markers when I did fender delete first mod always lol. Frame sliders as well! Alwayzzzzzz. Stands are huge!!! At least get a rear 👍🏼
    Then tech spec tank grips. Tip$ use heat gun or hair dryer n soften /heat em up as well as the surface. The exhaust is definite
    Anddddd the list doesn’t end. Have same ram finger mount on last 3 bikes and it’s a beast! Grill guard, visor, levers whenever.
    I actually like my stock ones but, bought levers before the bike lol. Did custom seat and it’s amazing. Stock was horrible and Corbin got a horrible review for the z900. I was going to buy it. Went local and 1/3 price. It looks amazing and is perfectly shaped and padded with 3 different layers of high density foam. Carbon fiber marine grade cover material.

    Question. I have my bike setup quite like yours since I’ve watched your videos. CS exhaust, PCV, blocked off AIS and right now I am running the full Akra tune. The bike runs much smoother with this tune but did you notice any low end torque loss since installing the PCV? I know it has been a few years since you made these mods. • @joshXnovak1
    @joshXnovak1 Před 2 lety

    Preface: I’ve been fixated on the Z800 ever since I saw it for the first time in some announcement that they were coming to the US Market in 2016. I still want one.
    1. In doing research on modifications for that bike specifically (which I’m hoping there have since been developments for the Z900) there were LED turn signals that very well match the stylization of the Kawasaki Z-line. These turn signals are OE style, meaning they’re on a stalk that protrudes outward from the headlight and taillight assemblies [not a minimalist lo-pro kind of design where all you can see is a centrally located flasher that is not apparent that it’s a turn signal for any particular direction. [It’s a symptom of giving one device/visual checkpoint on a bikes architecture too many functions. The tail light is modulated to flash when braking, but it’s also split into a left and right half that serve as blinkers, and the switchback between red and amber aren’t very apparent because the wave lengths are too similar, and it’s only comprised of one row of LEDs. And people praise is because of the simple fact that it’s a modification, but give the functionality and practicality no thought beyond the face value. Just a mess…]ANYWAY.
    They are diffused LEDs so that the light doesn’t just come from the singular point of the diode, but the light is diffused across the entire surface of the turn signal’s face. They have them in switchback so that fronts can be white DRLs, but flash amber when the turn signal is activated, and the rears are red that flash amber when the turn signal is activated. I’ve always been enthralled with these.
    2. The Z800 (again hopefully soon the Z900) also has a set of demon eye headlight assemblies where there is are bilateral red, blue, or green projector lenses encompassed by white LED halos. Both bilateral lights are illuminated in the red, blue, or green that you choose as DRLs, AND both are illuminated for actual night riding lights with both low and high beam capability. These lighting features are well worth consideration for not only a cooler look than the chrome-backed parabolic style lights from the factory, but also increased light output in a very tidy, modern format. Checks boxes for both safety/visibility AND aesthetic upgrades in one package.

      I like the mod videos. I have an all blacked out 2017 with easily less than 300miles on it. I got it new from a dealer in 2018 and I got sick shortly after and havent gotten to ride much. I am glad I got the very base model. Yeah it's a little lighter because it lacks ABS. I hate all the modern "save a novice rider tech". Obviously it has the slipper clutch which I've heard alot of people having issues with and I've heard alot of people talking about how the ABS system actually will cause a tire to lock up. That or ABS will kick in too soon and cause people to drop their bike. I honestly think that if you need all that extra " cover your ass tech" on your bike then you probably just need less bike. I know I havent had much time on my z900 but I have been riding for 26 years and none of my bikes/dirtbikes had any of that electronic "assistance" crap on it. The tach, gear indicator, and fuel injection are great by me but I prefer to actually have full manual control over the bike without some electronic shit altering what im doing. Same reason I bought a 2002 WS6 6speed TransAm instead of a newer performance car or a Corvette. That, and to me the WS6 is still the best looking car that actually is a real performance car.

    love the CS system setup. Im waiting on my Firetong system out from Brazil to come in for my Z900 too. My outlet will just be more triangluar than round. How is material quality? Do you really need to have a remap because of the upgrade?

    • @AverageCarGuy
      @AverageCarGuy  Před 5 lety +1

      The CS setup is awesome and sounds amazing. Material quality is 8/10. Very good. Ideally the headers would be welded but these work great.
      It works okay without remap but the mapping really changed the bike for me. No more smell of spilled gas everywhere I go. Blocking the AIS is also a good idea. I have another video on that.

    • @AverageCarGuy
      @AverageCarGuy  Před 2 lety

      Well, in the US (and Europe) the environmental regulations enforced are so stringent that the manufacturers have to essentially dumb the bike down for it to pass. This is kind of why they're relatively easy to modify afterwards to get the power back. In the end modding is not for everyone. I own several bikes and 90% of them are not modded. But the bike I'm likely to track will always have some mods.

    The crash sliders create a much bigger problem than protecting your bike. I did the mistake of installing some crash sliders on my bike and one of the bolts broke inside the engine block, it costed me about $700 to remove the broken piece inside the engine block. Don't mess with your bike frame. Those bolts that come with the crash sliders are made from an inferior material than the ones the your bike has. I have never dropped my bike, one of the crash sliders just broke, good luck when removing a broken piece of bolt on your engine block.

    • @AverageCarGuy
      @AverageCarGuy  Před 3 lety

  • @thinkdunson

    5:50 you must not ever ride in the rain. i keep the rear fender because i ride rain or shine. if you look, you'll notice those things always extend out to directly above the rear-most part of the tire... so yeah, for those fair weather riders only, then sure, it's a no brainer to remove it. but for me, it keeps me from having a mud streak up the back of my jacket.
    10:22 i disagree... i think they do provide an advantage. go ride for a few months with stock, then replace them and you'll feel the difference. i don't know how, but they're easier to pull and the distance doesn't seem as far. plus they look a million times better. i don't know why every single manufacturer has such ugly levers.
    14:56 you can buy cheap generic amazon brand saddlebags and put them on any bike. and if you've never seen it, you absolutely will not believe me, but they look good on sport bikes and naked bikes. every single person i tell says no way, but then they see my bike and they always say, wow it actually does look good. almost like they were made for it, because of the way they hang. they looked good on my ninja 300, they looked good on my sv650, and they look great on my z900. they're super inexpensive, and the extra room is worth the risk of having to return them back to amazon if you don't like the look. tank bags on the other hand, are super ugly to me, unless it's an adventure bike.
    16:11 i own a set of pit bull stands that i bought new, and you're slightly off on the price. they're going to set you back at least 170 front and 150 rear. but i got every option they have, so my entire purchase from their website was about 450.
