chiristian girl here, when i grew up in the church there was a song we'd sing that went "and they'll know we are christians by our love" i try so hard to model that in my life, but it absolutely breaks my heart to see others not, and completely ignore the fact that above all, we're meant to be loving people towards others. i see people say the most hateful things to others and i'm just like?? i don't understand the dissonance they have

    • @spectorcsm
      @spectorcsm Před 6 měsíci +10

@@promisemochi Yeah my church sings that song too and I very often think like, why don't we actually act that way? Seems like anyone that falls into a category unliked by Christians as a whole are treated absolutely horribly by them, which like, at the very least it's just being a jerk and cruel to people, but isn't it also just downright counterproductive?? Like, it's just an incredibly quick way to completely turn a person away from ever having a good opinion of your beliefs, wouldn't it be better to be nice to them, and show them the kindness and patience God is supposed to help us have, rather than just having nothing but hatred for them? :/

My mom found out I was lesbian because her bestfriend snooped on my phone. Her reasoning: I have hearts next to my friends names so I can tell who they are by color. I was so pissed because my mom got mad at me because I didn’t tell her I’m lesbian. I had been planning to tell her when I was comfortable but I was not yet comfortable enough to tell her. She proceeded to ask if I had been planning to just run away with my girlfriend and never tell anyone. I literally had planned on telling her soon and as soon as she went off on me it made me feel less inclined to tell her anything. The reason I was cautious was because my dad and maybe some other family is homophobic and didn’t want them to find out.

And so far so good, they understand despite being homophobic that if my sister's knew the entire planet would know so they bite their tongue and don't inform my older sister or the younger one so I feel like I get why you wouldn't want most of your family knowing .

It’s just I felt really upset that she invaded my privacy and got mad because I hadn’t felt comfortable enough to tell her yet. Not only this she also threatened me with telling my dad when I didn’t have a good explanation for why I didn’t tell her. I didn’t say I wasn’t comfortable because I was too afraid of her getting more mad at me. Her best friend (my god mother) completely broke my trust when she did that to me. On top of all this most of the people at my dads house are transphobic (he lives with his brother and mom) his brothers sons, my cousins, talk bad about nonbinary people which makes me sad since I’m a closeted nonbinary from everyone but my bestfriend and girlfriend (as well as a few other friends)

The childbirth crazy mom is the worst. When I was in labor I was already freaking out because I'm a trans man who had been told by at least 4 doctors that I'm practically infertile and I didn't know I was pregnant until I went into labor.
Luckily, my mom was an absolute champ and even ordered that the incredibly disrespectful midwife to be barred from entering the room after the awful way she was talking to me. My husband drove 8 hours from where he was stationed and got there for the last 4 hours and just held my hand and told me everything would be okay (he didn't tell me until later that I was squeezing his hand so hard that I actually sprained 2 of his fingers).
I was utterly terrified, blindsided, dysphoric, and in so much pain. If on top of that I had to deal with my own mother making a scene and making it about her I don't know if I would have even made it through. My mom was the main person holding me together.

They can make sure that emergency services get informed asap if they have a fall or show signs of really bad confusion (e.g attempting to leave the house in the middle of the night, playing with dangerous things etc.). It can also help protect against neglect.

@@ciaracooney9625 I don't know if it's a difference of country or condition, but most of my clients are either bedridden or require assistance moving around the house, so bedroom cameras are usually one of the most important, because of how long they spend in bed. Additionally, in a lot of cases with really severe cases, even if they are capable of standing and changing themselves, they end up doing it in their living room or bedroom because they have more space and use a commode instead of their toilet.
That being said, the sharing of videos or images from those cameras with people without a need-to-know justification is a horrific breach of Safeguarding and shows a flagrant disregard for the wellbeing of the individual in question.

This is particularly common amongst those with extreme views like cult worship and conspiracy theories, people who beat their children and people who molest them. Outside influence can threaten their control and in the case of the molesting and beating, risk them jail time. @fancydeer They don't necessarily need to be changed as often as tampons depending on your flow. Tampons HAVE to be removed within 8 hours because being inserted into the body makes it waaay easier for any bacteria growing in them to enter the body, and cause toxic shock syndrome. Since pads are outside the body, it's significantly harder for the bacteria to invade from there, and the environment isn't as ideal for bacterial growth either, which is why it's safe to sleep with them on.
That said, no matter how slow your flow is - or even if it's non-existent and you're wearing the pad as a precaution since it's close to time for your period to start, you should be changing it at least every day...

15:38 This is absolutely true. Lots of people who weren't ab*sed tend to forget that ab**ive people existed. I was SA'd by my dad's father and everyone I went to for help told me that he just trying to compliment me and be a good grandfather when I told them that he was gr*p*ng me and saying creepy things.
A lot of these types of parents are very good at hiding their true colors. I know from personal experience.
A lot of members on my dad's side of the family are selfish narcassists but are really good at pretending to be good people. In reality the only reason they do good things is because people are watching and they are trying to come across as saints. In fact, after insulting me and telling me I deserved to be b*aten as a child, my dad's mom said that both of them (my dad's parents) were my saviors because they took me in by choice when my parents couldn't care for me and did the bare minimum.
Not all parents are good people. Stop dismissing insane behavior because it's a family member. If it's unacceptable for a friend or boss to do it, it would be unacceptable for a family member to do it.

To her immediate family/the family members who didn't fit her very narrow and religious set of expectations (which was mostly my mom and myself.)
But her memorial service was a assembly hall completely packed with people, and I had to sit there listening to dozens of people sharing stories about what a "loving, kind, and compassionate" person my grandmother apparently was. I don't know who they were talking about, but it wasn't the person I knew. It would have been nice for her to share a bit of that "loving, kind, and compassionate" personality for her family. That post about the trans dude getting kicked out by his mom seriously hit home for me.
In March I was unhoused by my mom (I was paying rent and everything) mere months after I had top surgery, with my dogs (one of which was a puppy at the time) the only reason I survived was because my boyfriends family had been the best ever and took me plus my dogs in and I’ve been living with them since (also paying my part of rent and utilities, plus house chores).
Kicking someone out of their home, full stop, is one of the most violent things you can do besides murder. Doing it because someone is happy and in a place where they can admit what they want in life/are actually doing things they like, that is even worse in my opinion.
I sincerely hope OP got his stuff back, because one of the things that makes me saddest about getting kicked out is I literally lost 25 years of photos and memories on my hard drives, including most of my artwork and writing projects, all in moments. I also only got out with a suitcase of clothes and my dogs. No shoes and no money, no important documents, I didn’t even have my day clothes on, I was kicked out in basically my underwear, in a blizzard.
I’m doing ok, but one of the weirdest things is now my mom/her family is trying to smooth over what happened and initiate contact again, as if they didn’t all leave me to die and with no resources, for months, with no contact and no apology, and they want to speak as if nothing has transpired? Truly psychotic behavior.

It really is sad that these issues are so common that they can be made into a bingo card, younger people don't deserve this especially on top of school/work, life will be stressful enough when you are still truing to figure yourself out. Parents need to realize that their kids no matter sexuality, religion, or gender are human and deserve love and a safe space to stay. As a younger person I have seen what will happen to kids outside of home life weather its in school or just out and public and can tell you that they do not need a parent being crappy on top of that, they need a parent that will be able to comfort them and try to help them as they grow older and figure themselves out. My partner is trans and the mom was so unsupportive that she would call and harass teachers into misgendering him (even tho he passed), etc-- and she also wound up coming around and pretending it never happened. unless they're religious, social norms go a long way. just try to survive it if it's not actually dangerous (assuming you can't leave) and it may well solve itself.

And this is why when she asks someone to babysit they almost always say no, because she abandons them for either a full day or several days at a time instead of the amount of time she says. I work all the damn time, I don’t even have time to have my own kids let alone watch her 6 because she doesn’t feel like being a mother.
And as much as I would like to say she only does this every now and again… she doesn’t. She does it all the damn time, the kids basically take turns living with other relatives or fending for themselves at home. Why nobody has called dfs? Actually we have, they didn’t do shit.

Something I have realized as ive grown is that parents have this idea of who their child is in their head and when the child grows into their own person and that person not being who the parent(s) want them to be frequently leads to problems. Just like with anything else a person daydreams about it is ok to have an idea of what you want, but at the same you cannot control other people who where their lives take them and I wish more parents would realize this and accept their child if they are happy.

It honestly feels like the people complaining are people who didn’t have abusive parents, because I liked the previous way much better. Abusive parents abuse in a variety of ways, all the time, 24/7.

The only hope I have left is, that we, who watch those videos, become better parents than those and probably raise a generation that has less struggles or fight through less trauma.

I really hope so. I thought that the internet in general would have helped people do right, but a lot of these parents are in my generation, and we have no excuse. Remain vigilant, and watch yourself as well as others.

I gotta say as a bingo, the rule that you can only mark once makes sense and is fair, BUT I much prefer when you would put down all marks that qualify, because it allows us to see just how much BS we really gone through in these videos, the insanity of the board makes it funny, turning it into a flat game of bingo feels depressing, Like we are turning an actual game out of peoples experiences, that part makes me personally uncomfortable, but I still enjoyed the vid, take care Click🎉💕

I cannot BEGIN to deal with that horrible roommate. The WALLS of text! My sibling had a similar issue when they wanted me to babysit the kiddo. I AM CHILDFREE. Their choice is not my problem to deal with, family or not has no bearing on these choices. Thankfully we talked it out and set some good boundaries that WORKED very well for us. They still don’t like the ‘no means no’ and ‘I don’t need a reason to say no’. 😂 now to work on them staying the f outta my love life. 😂😂😂😂😂

In a similar vain to the threatening to call the cops. A lot of insane parents (Including my own) will threaten to call CPS or claim that if you tell anyone CPS will take you away. I've learned that the parents who threaten their kids that CPS will take them away, nine times out of ten have had CPS called on them before.

I tell my hubby he is house broken. He just rolls his eyes, puts down the seat, grabs me a drink, usually sweet tea, and switches laundry, and brings me the load out of the dryer to fold. He's amazing, and betwèn us we can get anything done. He does the stairs and we split everything I can't do alone.

This is one of the great sides of what the Internet has given humanity - back in my day, a child in such a home would have no way to reality check; they would just have to take their parents' word that this was right and normal. Now all an abused teenager has to do is compare notes on Reddit - I'm sure that sometimes that might backfire, but at least there's some consensus of "omg, no, your parents are effed up" that they can find, along with some hopefully helpful advice.

I had a panic attack today in school. This is the third time I had one, the second happened a week ago in the same class. I panicked because of a presentation and tried so hard not to cry while still standing in front the whole class. Sadly it was for nothing and I had a whole breakdown.
I went home after second period and just watched like 30 of your videos. There was just something calming about watching you talk about all kinds of wild stories and internet drama. Thank you for your wholesomeness. I really needed something like that after this horrible day. I still don’t know how to tell my parents. They’re both really supportive of me and I know they will listen (not like the parents in this video lol) but there’s still just something weird about just talking about it.
But anyway I just wanted to went and idk this seems like a nice place to do so. Thank you again for the content you do. I think you inspire and help a lot of people including me. Makes me feel a bit less anxious and insecure of the weird parts of my personality.

43:00 i literally studied this a few days ago, they legally cannot do that as it falls under discrimination against gender identity, which is protected against according to the human rights thingamajig (in my country at least)
they're discriminating against their own child by refusing housing/kicking them out due to gender identity.
they're in the wrong here, both morally and legally.
